From the Principal Dear Blessed Trinity Friends and Families, I want to start by telling all of you how thankful Blessed Trinity Catholic High School is that you are a part of our vibrant and wonderful community. As you all know, our school has just completed an amazing first 16 years of growth and accomplishments under the leadership of Mr. Frank Moore. He will certainly be missed but has left us in a very good place. I feel honored to be the second principal in the school’s history and will work diligently to continue to move our school in the right direction. As always, we will emphasize our Catholic identity, our academic rigor and support, and our extensive programs in both the fine arts and athletics, while continuing to promote service learning and provide an outstanding guidance program. All of this will take place in a safe and caring environment. There have been so many projects completed over the years, several of which have been made possible only because of your generous donations to the school. As you may expect, there are many new needs we have already identified that we would like to address in the near future. As best practices in education continue to change, there are transformations to some of our existing spaces that will greatly enhance the learning experience for our students. There will be ongoing improvements to our technology throughout the school to stay ahead in that ever changing field. We want to put our students in the best possible position to be successful in and beyond college. Please read through this report. Recognize how so many people have helped take Blessed Trinity Catholic High School to such an impressive level in a rather short period of time. If your name does not appear on our donor list, please prayerfully consider a tax-deductible donation to the Annual Fund. Your tuition dollars do not cover the total cost to educate your child and certainly not to the best of our abilities. That is what the Annual Fund helps us do. The Annual Fund is truly necessary to make your child’s educational experience significantly better in the present and in their future. Our students deserve all that we can do for them. I pray that you will strongly consider contributing again or for the first time this year. May God bless you for all you do for Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. Sincerely,

Brian Marks Principal

From the Development Director Dear Blessed Trinity Supporters: We want to thank all those who helped make last school year such a financial success. Please take a look at the financials to see the impact your generosity had on the overall financial condition of Blessed Trinity. Also in this Annual Report is a complete list of all donors who contributed to BT last year. Overall, almost 70% of the families with students at BT made a donation, and we thank you. As Principal Marks stated in his letter, if your name does not appear, we would ask that this year you prayerfully consider a donation of some amount to help Blessed Trinity stay at the forefront in a very competitive educational market. I also want to thank the faculty and staff as 100% of them showed their support of the school by making a donation to last year’s Annual Fund. No one understands the need for these additional funds better than our faculty and staff in terms of providing all the resources they need to provide our students the best education possible... Thank you. Overall giving to Blessed Trinity last year was $698,503, which was an increase of $109,464, or 18.5%, over the previous year. Unrestricted donations to the Annual Fund were almost identical to the previous year at $298,884. If you are considering a gift this year, this is the area where your dollars can have the most impact as they can be used for any needs of the school. The Auction Gala saw an increase of 12% to $235,201, and we would like to thank Tricia Navarro and Donna Ortiz, the auction co-chairs, as well as their army of volunteers for making this happen. Donations to our various scholarships increased 289% to $113,421, thanks mainly to the establishment of two new scholarships. The Camperlengo Family endowed the St. Joseph Scholarship, and the BT community responded to the establishment of the Frank Moore Scholarship by contributing over $70,000. All those who contributed are recognized in this report. On the expense side, everyone at Blessed Trinity understands the need to be good stewards of all the funds provided to us. In the Development office, expenses were down 17%. Once again, we want to thank everyone who helped make school year 2015 - 2016 such a success. From our faculty and staff, to our current families, alumni families, alumni, Grandparents and corporate supporters, THANK YOU! Our ability to provide all the resources the students need to achieve their dreams is only limited by your willingness to support us through your generosity. In Christ,

Chuck Oliver Director of Development

Capital Campaign From 2011 - 2015, Blessed Trinity conducted its first ever Capital Campaign to provide major capital improvements to the school. During that time, over $3 million in campaign funds were received. The donated funds were used to establish a permanent endowment at BT which now has over $1 million, and to turf the main stadium

field and the lacrosse/soccer field along with the baseball field. The next phase to be completed is the addition to the fine arts wing. This project is currently funded and is currently being planned. All the donors who contributed to the Capital Campaign have been recognized in previous Annual Reports and we would once again

like to express our sincere appreciation for their contributions. This year and in coming years, surplus funds received for the Annual Fund once our budget has been fulfilled will be combined with the existing Capital funds to complete the remaining project which is a locker room/restroom/concessions facility to be located near the ten-

nis courts and lacrosse field. Thank you once again to everyone who supported the “This Is Our Moment” Capital Campaign. During school year 2015 - 2016 additional Capital Campaign gifts were received, and these donors are recognized below.

GRACE Scholars Program Blessed Trinity Catholic High School participates in the G.R.A.C.E. Scholars program, a state-approved Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) established by the Archdiocese of Atlanta. In 2008, the state of Georgia passed legislation which allows Georgia residents to re-direct a portion of their state income taxes to a private school of their choice for use in providing financial aid to students coming from public schools. The students must qualify for the financial aid based on need. Last year, 228 participants in the G.R.A.C.E. program selected Blessed Trinity as the recipient of their funds. As a result, Blessed Trinity received approximately $255,000 and was able to provide financial aid to 100% of all new students who qualified. These students will continue to receive financial aid through G.R.A.C.E. for the next four years provided they continue to qualify. Because these funds came from G.R.A.C.E., it allowed regularly budgeted financial aid dollars to go farther in supporting the financial needs of the students coming from our Catholic feeder schools and other private schools. This past year, the funds approved by the state were exhausted on January 1. All of the BT participants were able to take advantage of the “Early Bird” registration provided by G.R.A.C.E. Applications are now being accepted on-line (www. gracescholars.org) for the 2017 tax year. We encourage everyone in the BT community to take advantage of this opportunity as soon as possible and want to thank the following families who chose to participate in the G.R.A.C.E. Scholars program and hope they will continue to choose G.R.A.C.E. as part of their tax planning strategy for years to come.

While GRACE participation addresses the school’s critical need for targeted financial aid funding, it should not be considered a donation. It is, rather, a re-direction of tax monies already owed to the state. We continue to be grateful for your muchneeded contributions to the school’s Annual Fund as they help us meet overall budgetary obligations.

Ways To Give Each and every gift that is given to Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, regardless of the amount, holds an immeasurable level of importance to the school. All gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Careful planning of your gift can not only help to maximize the gift that you make to the school, but also your personal goals as well. Legal and financial advisors can best help you determine the type of gift most advantageous and appropriate for you to make. There are several opportunities for faculty and staff, alumni, parents, and friends to financially support our school. ANNUAL FUND - The Annual Fund is the most important fundraising effort each school year. At BT, tuition revenues cover the basic operations of the school. Additional requested budget items can only be funded through a successful Annual Fund campaign. Each year, there is a gap between revenues from tuition and the amount needed to fund the entire school budget. Our goal is to have 100% participation in the Annual Fund from our faculty, staff and parent community, regardless of the amount you are able to contribute. Please help to increase our overall participation rate by making a contribution. AUCTION & GALA - The Annual Auction & Gala, held in March, is the single-largest fundraising event for the school. In order to have a successful Auction & Gala, we need volunteers, donated items, sponsorships and attendees. To learn more on getting involved in the Auction, please contact the Development office. FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION - Different levels of membership are available for the BT Fine Arts Association. Each membership has its own set of benefits, including tickets and apparel. All proceeds help pay the expenses for the school’s arts program. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION - Different levels of membership are available for the BT Athletic Association. Each membership has its own set of benefits, including tickets and apparel. All proceeds help pay the expenses of the school’s athletic program. FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS & EVENTS - The Development Office raises additional funds for the school through partnering with select merchants, the BT Fine Arts Association, and the BT Athletic Association. SCHOLARSHIPS & ENDOWMENTS - The school has several endowed scholarships, awards, and funds. Only the interest of these gifts is awarded each year. With the principal’s approval, donors may contribute any amount to an existing endowment, or endow a scholarship of their own with a minimum gift of $25,000.

There are many different methods that donors may choose to fund their gift: Monetary - Your gifts provide immediate tax savings through deductions and provides the school with funds for current use. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are all accepted. Securities - Some donors choose to transfer stock to BT as their gift each year. Contact the Development Office to make these arrangements. Matching Gifts - A matching gift is when an employer will match the charitable contribution made by an employee or the spouse of an employee. This can multiply your gift to the school by simply completing the appropriate form from your company. Check with your Human Resources Department about their matching gifts policies and procedures. Gifts in Kind - These non-cash gifts include items that the school needs and uses including, but not limited to, furniture, office supplies, or printing services. Planned Gifts - The most common planned gift is when a donor leaves a gift to the school as part of a will. Other planned gifts include life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, and annuity trusts. Establish a Scholarship or Endowment - The school has ten endowed scholarships: Goizueta Foundation, Robert White/UPS, Jessica Turner Memorial, Kevin Mann Memorial, Devon McKniff Memorial, 1st Lt. Scott Joseph Fleming Memorial, Jeff and Jeannie Stokes Family, Elizabeth Huffner Memorial, St. Joseph Scholarship, and the Frank Moore Scholarship. Donors may endow a scholarship of their own for a minimum gift of $25,000.

If you would like to learn more about ways to give, please contact the Development Office.
