Handbuilt Cocoa Cups

Ages 6 & Up

Sunday, November 5, 10 am-12 pm

$30 per participant

Spend the morning as a family in the BCA Clay studio as we turn slabs of clay into structured handbuilt tumbler cups. Using our collection of stamps and tools, learn decorative techniques to create texture and pattern, and customize with colored underglaze. Once fired, your cup will be ready for that perfect cup of cocoa. Youth must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may assist their child(ren) free of charge; additional tickets are required for adults who would like to make their own work. Each ticket includes one cup that will then be fired and glazed by the studio. Only one fired piece per student; no additional pieces will be kept or fired. Your fired piece will be available for pickup at the studio 4-6 weeks after your class.

Funky Food Stuffies

Ages 6 & Up

Sunday, December 3, 10 am-12 pm

Instructor: Kara Ware

$30 per participant

Time fries when you’re learning a new skill together! Working with basic hand sewing techniques and easy sew machines, we’ll use simple patterns to cut and create your own funky food stuffies. We will then embellish them with various materials including ribbons, buttons, rickrack, and puffy fabric paints. From a crispy hard-shell taco to a triple scoop ice cream cone, the options are as endless as a buffet. Youth must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may assist their child(ren) free of charge. Additional tickets are required for adults who’d like to make their own work.

Friday Family Wheel

Ages 6 & up

Youth Pottery

Ages 6-12

Sundays, October 1-October 22, 2-4 pm

Instructor: Melissa Jones

$150 per participant

In this weekly class, students explore the BCA Clay Studio to create bowls, cups, sculptures, and more through wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Learn surface design and decorating tips to make your pieces amazing. Class fee includes up to three pieces to be fired and glazed by the studio; all items will be food/dishwasher/microwave safe and lead-free. Finished pottery will be available for pickup 4-6 weeks after the class ends. All materials provided.
