Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has been associated with Buben & Zorweg since 2000 and is the distributor for the brand in the UAE. The company has carved a niche in the UAE market with exclusive masterpieces and unique designs. Also on offer at the Dubai store is a range of Buben & Zorweg Watch Winders, as well as a one of the brand’s latest concepts, the Collectors’ Salon. The salon is a series of matched modules which provide a surround for any collection. Each salon is tailormade according to the collector’s requirements, adding elements such as a humidor for cigars and a bar for fine wines. “As Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons offers collectors the world’s best timepieces, we wanted to add value by ensuring our customers could protect and store their timepieces for life,” said a Seddiqi spokesman. “Many of the watches in our boutiques are bought to pass on from one
generation to another, so it is only fitting that the Watch Winders and modules are built to withstand the test of time,” he added. The first Buben & Zorweg boutique in Dubai opened at Wafi in October 2008, adding Dubai to its international locations in Vienna, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Moscow. “Products made in Germany have always been precursors in many different areas. The boutique has established the Buben & Zorweg brand as a pioneer of beautiful, hand-crafted watch-winders and table clocks, especially in this age of technology and innovation,” he explained. The boutique offers collectors in UAE and region the latest range and advances from Buben & Zorweg, as well as access to the bespoke service for the Collectors’ Salon. The Watch Winders are a stylish addition to any home, created from solid cherry wood with carefully selected buried walnut inlay. Models such as The Treasury have been created for connoisseurs of quality watches and objects of value. The design of the module incorporates exquisite leather and exotic wood in a matt finish, accentuated by applications of non-corrosive steel. It can store more than 30 watches, and also includes a jewellery cassette, a hi-fi stereo system, a humidor and bar, supplemented by a central control unit. Additional features are a safe, alarm system and a set of refined clock-marker’s tools. The Watch Salon was first presented at Baselworld 2006. After a further year of intensive research and development, the Watch Salon was launched in the market and has become a favourite with watch collectors. It features Buben & Zorweg’s own brand of Time Mover watch winders, which blend in with the wall unit. Additional modules such as a bar or a humidor complete the ambience. It offers at least nine
modules, which are assembled according to customer specifications.
