Entry requirements
We’re committed to ensuring higher education is accessible to everyone. We welcome applications from prospective students from all backgrounds and we promise to consider applications on a fair and equal basis.
At Buckinghamshire New University, we’re committed to widening access for all those who can benefit from higher education and to widening participation from underrepresented groups. For more information on our admissions policy, please visit bnu.ac.uk/tac.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
When we assess your application, we’ll be looking at more than just your qualifications. We’re as interested in your ability, potential and passion for the subject you want to study.
We require GCSE Maths and English Language qualifications at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent qualifications such as Functional Skills Level 2) for some of our subjects.
Don’t worry if you aren’t sure if you have the right qualifications to study at Buckinghamshire New University. Please contact our friendly admissions team to talk through your options, telephone 0330 123 2023 or email advice@bnu.ac.uk.
Making You An Offer
We base all our undergraduate full-time offers on the UCAS tariff points. You can find the preferred amount of points, and any specific subject requirements, in the course listing pages of this prospectus from page 133 and on the course pages of our website.
International Entry Requirements
We accept a wide range of international academic qualifications for entry to our undergraduate courses, providing that they are equivalent to our entry requirements. You can find more information on the country-specific sections of our website at bnu.ac.uk/international.
English Language Requirements
You will need to prove a good standard of English to study at Buckinghamshire New University if you’re not from a majority English-speaking country. We prefer the IELTS English language qualification (ielts.org). All applicants requiring a Student Route visa must demonstrate their ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English to satisfy UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) regulations. Competence will be measured across four areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening. A list of acceptable qualifications can be found at bnu.ac.uk/english.
