PP42 Apartment adaptiation IaO - Informal architectural oďŹƒce Belgrade, Serbia /year: 2013 Author of: CONCEPT DRAWINGS RENDERINGS
Requiring unconventional approach, rethinking of each programme and creation of the multifunctional space, small spaces are always highly inspiring and sensational, oering incredible, unpredictable and distinctive spatial experience.
Main task was to create a small apartment that does not lack in any everyday activity. Nevertheless, the programme should be revised in accordance to the client habits, hobbies and necessities. Apartment is thought as storage of everyday activities, represented by their “elements”. Consumption of these elements, the way how they are combined or placed, is what defines the apartment and creates its spatial characteristics. Consequently, the middle of the apartment is set as clear space that accommodates all of the activities, a space of their hybridisation. Activity elements (moveable kitchen, living room, library and dinning elements) are set on its edges and can be used separately or together shaping the space in each moment differently. This space is constantly changing, not just by mixing the existing programmes, but discovering the new one as products of their mixture.
Attic envelope is used in its original shape as it oers the creation of several dierent environments. Programme elements are situated on the storage zone displaced along the apartment edges. Therefore, entrance might also be used as a bathroom space, living room, dinning, working and kitchen are mixed and library is set through all three of them. Private zone accommodates bedroom that also might serve as the lounge area.
COMMON ILLUSION Serbian pavilion at the XIII Venice architectural biennale team member Venice, Italy /year: 2012 status: competition Author of: CONCEPT DRAWINGS RENDERINGS
Each space is created as a reflection of needs, habits and necessities of the users that it is designed for. Therefore, each space becomes complete only when it is used. It is arranged, shaped, and its identity is defined through its users. Therefore, to rethink it, we have designed space without shape, that is a reflection of its essence, space that exists only when it is used. Wiping up its borders, and reflecting its content, we emphasized users and events created by the users. Simple and flexible, it is ready to accommodate every activity. We provoke reactions of the people with different cultural backgrounds, of different occupations and different ages or sex, in order to learn about events created on differences and the way those differences are defining architectural space. Therefore, this space is never the same, it constantly changes, and both its form and its programme are unpredicted.
Reecting everything that is happening in the pavilion we are trying to make illusion of common space made from all of its users together. They mustn`t have known each other, they mustn`t have spoke with each other, they will spontaneously ďŹ nd their role and relations in this endless space.
Therefore, this project questions if architecture is flexible enough to give a solution for the new age contemporary society, or it is just offering finite set of architectural models in illusion of endless creativity.

SENJAK Public market place IaO - Informal architectural office competition team leader, project architect Senjak, Belgrade, Serbia / year: 2010 status: competition Author of: CONCEPT DRAWINGS
Next to the one of the busiest Belgrade boulevards connecting the city centre with its suburbs. Senjak area culd be defined as a context in between domesticity and impersonal, between neighbourhood and vacant space. Full of contrasts, it is perfect for creation of new urban forms, new forms of public space or meeting points. Therefore as a derivate of contrasts, new public space must not be considered as space of division but space of connections. Therefore, this area is planned as a park - market. Not a market place itself, neither the park (square) itself, but hybrid of those two programs. This juxtaposition of similar programs enables non-stop usage of space and instigates its activity. Usage of elements of both programmes leads to set of unpredicted relations in between them. Therefore, programs are supplementing each other with constant production of new events. When market is closed, stands become elements of the perk (chess tables, open bar tables, alternative theatre or performance elements). When market is working two programs are making together and making special environment. Therefore, park is constant, and market place flexible.
Continuous ďŹ led is planed without denivelation, as it enables continuous movement without obstacles for all of the users and considering all technical requests.
Linear green (Cypress trees) wall protects the park from the noise and pollution of the boulevard and separating it from Belgrade expo making it quiet and relaxing place. Green spots (Pinus Punea) make canopies and sun protection for the users.
Instead of directing pedestrian routes, movement through park-market is free to pedestrian aďŹƒnity. Considering this, movement network is shaped by events, not previously planned, and park spontaneous activities are emphasized.
4 clusters of market stands (made not to separate goods but to juxtapose with other elements) are positioned throughout the plot. Therefore, they are mixed with other activities, instead of being separated. Fish, dairy products, meet and administration are planned as pavilions. They are cylindrical in order to establish proper relation with enclosing programmes. By abolishing the borders between programs, their natural hybridization is enabled.
All elements of the market-park are planned away from the product delivery roots. However, product routes are essential for the market and therefore, they are designed as following the principals of the market but by considering technical and safety regulations.
NOVI SAD LIBRARY Extension of the City Library in Novi Sad competition team leader, project architect IaO - Informal architectural office
Belgrade, Serbia / year: 2011 status: competition Author of: CONCEPT AXONOMETRICAL LAYOUT RENDERINGS Although it is in a perfect location, due to the form of the old building and lack of space, Novi Sad city library is almost hermetically closed and divided from its surrounding, leaving just books in the window screens as a sign of its existence. Therefore, through the project of the library extension, we are trying to rethink the library as an open and dynamic program, live all day long. Library is a program that attracts its users and promotes culture. The ground floor of the new building, accommodating children section and multifunctional hall, is planned as an open space, by its programme and its form. Through the flexible ground floor plan, continuous space connecting the pedestrian street and outside courtyard with inner courtyard and old building itself is planned. As a flexible space ,full of greenery, it can accommodate programs like children workshops, exhibitions or promotions, but also can serve as a reading space or just new form of meeting point. Other spaces, silent by their character or with limited accessibility (science section, administration, multipurpose hall) are placed in a single volume, hidden from the noise of the street and designed in a more private atmosphere. Volume is li ed from the ground and connected to the old building at the administration floor. Outside ramp is connecting multipurpose hall on the first floor with outside garden space, forming multipurpose hall entrance. This enables the hall to work as a separate entity from the gallery. Also, ramps are used as a protection for the housing buildings on the back of the plot, predicted for redevelopment to the future library extension.

The buildings programme has been divided into three main parts: Issuing department, Security departm centre. Each one of them has been placed into separate volume in order to establish clear functional establish required division of the building areas by their accessibility. Covered by a single envelope, they h to form a single unit. Each one of them is designed to work separately, but when united they form representing the stability and importance of their collaboration to such an institution as the Central Libyan they symbolize the importance of collaboration among the individuals for the community.
Considering the economy of the state as live organism, able to grow or to decree, the system for i development has been created. The building might be extended both by adding new volumes or by exte ones. However, if extended in accordance to the system, it will keep same functional logic. Therefore building will change constantly and represent Libya’s social prosperity.

dr. IVANA RIBARA HOUSING BLOCK Residential complex RAUM studio team member Belgrade, Serbia / year: 2012 competition: 1st prize status: built
Ivana Ribara Street represents an edge of the Belgrade most populated municipality, New Belgrade, completely build between 60`s and 80`s in the construction rush of the socialist Yugoslavia. New Belgrade is one of the largest municipalities in Europe build through principals of modernist architecture. Competition proposed a development of the residential block with around 800 apartments, public areas, community spaces and parking for each unit. Following these principals, six individual buildings are organized to form inner courtyards, safe and quiet, separated from the noisy streets and boulevards. Courtyards represent common space for the community as they have always in the modernist blocks. In order to provide good quality contemporary housing and well made buildings, but also conceivable to wider population, simple structure with simple materials, accessible and familiar to domestic workers, is chosen. Monotony is avoided through diverse combinations of apartment units, resulting in variety of ambients throughout the building facade.
