SECOND ROUND OF THE BÜRGENSTOCK EAT SERIES AT THE BÜRGENSTOCK HOTELS & RESORT LAKE LUCERNE

Mike Wehrle and the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne are pleased to welcome guest appearances by celebrated Swiss Chef Franz Wiget and Netflix’s Chef’s Table star Asma Khan for two guest chef events. The third event, Chefs United - Chef Wehrle & Friends, features many more culinary personalities and is set to put September’s three-day Bürgenstock EAT Series event firmly on the food event calendar.

Where work becomes pleasure: from Saturday, 10th of September until Monday, 12th of September 2022, Corporate Culinary Director Mike Wehrle will be bringing culinary stars Franz Wiget and Asma Khan as well as renowned personalities from the Swiss and German culinary scene into his restaurants as award-winning colleagues. Following the resounding success of the first event held in September 2019, it is now time to continue the Bürgenstock EAT Series in 2022. “Life is always better together, be it behind the stove or around a beautiful table. The Bürgenstock EAT Series is a feast for the senses that pays tribute to fine cuisine and renowned chefs”, says top Chef Mike Wehrle.

Guest Chef Event Franz Wiget – Saturday, 10th of September 2022

This appearance will be the last of his brilliant career: until a few weeks ago, the 61-year-old Swiss Chef managed the Adelboden restaurant in the Canton of Schwyz, for which Guide Michelin awarded him 2 stars and GaultMillau 18 points. For 35 years, he led the prestigious chalet, built in 1773, where GaultMillau bestowed the title of “Up and Coming Chef of the Year” on him in 2001 and “Chef of the Year” in 2012. His trademark was always classic cuisine focusing on superb, often regional, products with his sauce creations, which have an astounding depth and complex aroma, being well-known all over the world.

At the Bürgenstock EAT Series, he will showcase his expertise twice over: on Saturday evening, 10 September 2022, at the Brasserie Ritzcoffier and at Sunday lunch under the motto “Chefs United” with Asma Khan and Mike Wehrle, who will be cooking together in the Palace Hotel.

Chefs United - Chef Wehrle & Friends – Sunday, 11th of September 2022

Her Indian roots are evident in every one of her dishes and in every recipe: the 52-year-old was born in West Bengal and now lives in London. Before starting her career as a chef, she studied law and graduated from King’s College London. As soon as she finished her studies, she started a supper club in her Kensington apartment before opening the Darjeeling Express restaurant in Covent Garden, staffed by women only. She then published her cookbook, Asma’s Indian Kitchen, appeared in Netflix’s documentary series, Chef’s Table, and was once named Number 1 on Business Insider’s 100 Coolest People in Food and Drink.

The dynamic businesswoman will also present tempting dishes to guests at the Bürgenstock EAT Series twice over: at Sunday lunch she will cook in the Palace Hotel with her colleagues and on Monday evening she will inspire guests with her recipes at Spices Kitchen & Terrace.
