Colt Capital | Factsheet |
OVERVIEW
• Launched in April 2020, the Colt Emerging Companies Fund (‘Fund’ or ‘Colt’) is a high conviction investment fund providing investors with exposure to a portfolio of 20-30 ASX listed emerging companies.
• The manager for the Fund is Foster Capital, a specialist and independent investment manager. The investment manager is held 100% by staff, who have also made considerable personal investments in the Fund.
• The Fund aims to deliver investors strong long-term returns by investing in a portfolio of quality small to mid-cap listed companies whilst managing appropriate levels of risk.
• Colt has a demonstrated track record of performance. Since inception, Colt has delivered a total return of 56.10%.
INVESTMENT APPROACH:
Colt is a long-only, unit trust.
• The Fund typically concentrates on companies valued between $50m and $500m, as they tend to be commercially proven but are yet to be discovered and re-rated by the wider market. Lack of broker research coverage of smaller companies also creates opportunity.
• The Fund’s typical investment exposures are in high conviction emerging mining and technology (software and biotech) companies, which offer attractive risk/return profiles. The Fund is highly active, leveraging resources, knowledge and deal flow via our office network in Sydney, Perth and Auckland and relationships with brokers and investment banks across Australia and NZ.
INVESTMENT TEAM:
The Colt investment team combined have in excess of 75 years equity market experience. Colt’s investment team comprises:
