Heritage Meadows, 12301 S. Pear Tree Way, was one of 89 Plainfield Park District parks analyzed by Design Perspectives.

The Plainfield Public Library hosted a public meeting July 11 to update the community about plans for a proposed expansion of the facility. A presentation by architecture firm Nagle Hartray summarized the content of several June meetings on the expansion and how its concepts have been refined. Concept 2 and Concept 5, which share several characteristics, have received the most favor in previous meetings. Both concepts offer easy vehicular and pedestrian connection to Illinois Street and Route 59, as well as allow access to the building from Route 59, Illinois Street and the downtown area. The presentation also showed renovation and new construction concepts. Library Director Julie Milavec compared the Plainfield library to other libraries in the area. The Plainfield library serves 75,337 people, is 21,160 square feet in one location and has an annual average household cost of $190.14. Its total tax rate is a little over 20 cents per $100 of equalized assessed evaluation of a home. The presentation compared Plainfield to the White Oak Library District, the Fountaindale Public Library District
