Rob Ayres was officially sworn in as the sixth Plainfield Park District commissioner during the Nov. 12 board meeting. Ayres, who has attended most board meetings since 2013, said he was happy to be on board and hoped he could help move the park district forward. State Sen. Jennifer B e r t i n o - Ta r r a n t , D-Shorewood, was on hand to watch Ayres take the oath of office. She and state Rep. Tom Cross, R-Oswego, were co-sponsors of the state bill that went into effect ayres in August increasing rob 6th Plainfield the board from five Park district to seven members. coMMissioner Ayres was selected by Bertino-Tarrant to become the sixth commissioner. Cross has not announced his selection at this time. In other business, employee health insurance coverage will be changed to a new carrier. PDRMA, Park District Risk Management Agency, was selected over United Health Care and Blue Cross/Blue Shield despite United’s lower premium
