Development along the Route 30 corridor got a boost from Plainfield trustees during the Dec. 15 Village Board meeting. This was the second time the proposal came up for a second vote by the board. At the Dec. 1 meeting, Trustee Paul Fay and Mayor Michael Collins both voted no, and the proposal failed. At the Dec. 15 meeting, Collins changed his vote to a yes and changed the outcome for passage. By the nearly unanimous vote, trustees voted to hire SB Friedman Development Advisors, The Lakota Group and Sam Schwartz Engineering to provide development proposals for the Route 30 Renwick Road to Spangler Road corridor. Fay again voted no. He previously said he opposed the $78,200 price tag for the studies. Trustee Garrett Peck did not attend Monday night’s meeting. The firms will complete a TIF Eligibility study in the first phase and develop a redevelopment plan in the
