The Plainfield Park District Board approved a new public comment policy at their Jan. 7 meeting,though some,including Commissioner Mary Kay Ludemann, questioned the new rules. The policy,presented in a memo from Executive Director Garrett Peck, includes eight rules for anyone wishing to speak during the public comments portion of meetings. Approval of these provisions would update the policy in the Commissioner Mary board manual, Peck said Kay Ludemann at the meeting, adding that the policies and the language in which they’re written were derived from Bolingbrook Park District’s policy. The first stipulation includes having speakers stand and announce their name and address before they speak, limits comments to three minutes, and says that each person may speak only once. Other rules range from confining comments to their designated section on the agenda, to discouraging repetitive comments and
