A Plainfield Soccer Association team practices at Ridge Elementary School on Monday. The team, made up of 4- and 5-year-old players, is led by coaches Crissie Jenks and Sally Peck. Though PSA recently had issues with Plainfield Township Park District field use, the park district doesn’t control practice space, especially on school district property, according to PSA Director of Travel Kathy Ayres.

“as far as field space for Psa… we have plenty of room.the fields are being laid out as we speak,” said interim executive Director Gene coldwater, adding kids are going to be happy and able to play.

“For a public official to purchase a vehicle with public funds and to place his name on the title of that vehicle is unacceptable,” carey said.

In addition to questioning the park district’s decision-making regarding sports programs April 1, members of the public expressed concerns about spending done by the district. Plainfield resident Howard Bruskin shared investigation he’s done based on FOIA requests, speaking about the Josue Solis & Associates LED lights purchases and an order from another company for 100 polo shirts. He said both companies don’t exist. Bruskin also questioned some park district hiring decisions, and said he wants experienced residents to be able to help find the next executive director. Currently, they’re not involved in the process. Commissioner Mary Kay Ludemann >> see purchases | Page 5
