Plans for a Prairie Creek townhome development along the DuPage River, east of Route 59 and south of 135th Street, are moving forward despite concerns from many residents about flooding in the area. The site in question is south of the Meijer and Goodwill stores, behind what are currently empty lots, meant for future retail development. During an April 15 meeting, the village’s Plan Commission voted to recommend approving a rezoning, special use, the site plan review, and preliminary and final plats to the village board, which will have to approve the plans before they’re finalized and ground is broken.
