Last month, residents expressed a flood of concerns regarding plans for a Prairie Creek townhome development along the DuPage River – and now, the project’s progress has been blocked, or at least diverted. The Prairie Creek proposed development was to be situated east of Route 59 and south of 135th Street, south of the Meijer and Goodwill stores, behind what are currently empty lots. Plans included 212 townhome units on approximately 64 acres, with a proposed density of 3.31 units per acre. Although the village’s Plan Commission voted to recommend approval of a rezoning, special use, the site plan review, and preliminary and final plats to the village board during their April 15 meeting, village trustees were not all on board with the Prairie Creek plans. During the May 19 village board meeting, the trustees voted to deny the request for rezoning of the subject property with a 4-1 vote.Trustees Garrett Peck, Jim Racich, Margie Bonuchi, and Paul Fay were in the majority, trustee Bill
