Plainfield might want to consider taking on a new name: The craft beer capital of Illinois. Mike Zuro, president of the Plainfield Ale and Lager Enthusiasts (P.A.L.E.), says Plainfield is a leader in the Chicago area when it comes to craft beer. “The more you drink craft beer, the more you appreciate the nuances,” said Zuro, a selfproclaimed “hop head,” whose palate leans toward an India Pale Ale (IPA) variety of beer. “In a lot of places, all you see on tap are your Millers, Buds, Guinness,” he said.“In our area, it is more of a mecca between Binny’s (Beverage Depot) and the restaurants that recognize the craft beer scene.” See BEER, page 4
