Dave Tkac, 55, of Plainfield, was hired as deputy chief of staff for Will County Executive Larry Walsh. He will assist Chief of Staff Nick Palmer, who previously held the position. “I am pleased to welcome Dave to our staff,” Walsh said.“He comes to us with a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors. His knowledge and leadership skills will be a definite addition to my office.” Tkac began his duties on Sept. 27 following the approval from the County Board at its September 18 meeting. Most recently, Tkac DAVE TKAC, 55 OF worked as a senior PLAINFIELD management associate DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF FOR WILL for a Fortune 500 design COUNTY EXECUTIVE engineering firm. Prior to that, he worked for nearly four years as a regional manager for the capital development board of the State of Illinois. In this role, he was responsible for managing all non-road, state projects. Tkac also spent time with the City of Chicago as a contracts administrator in the Mayor’s Office under Richard M. Daley. His duties included managing special projects and urban redevelopment. Palmer said Tkac experience in the public sector will be a definite asset in the role of assistant chief of staff. “Dave understands the climate of the
