Boy Scout Troop 91 of Plainfield sold Christmas trees at Plainfield Moose Lodge, 16310 Lincoln Highway, amid this weekend’s winter flurries. Saturday and Sunday marked the end of their sale, which began Friday, Nov. 29 – the day after Thanksgiving – and ran each weekend since.

Plans for the Illiana Tollway cleared another hurdle Dec. 12 as an Indiana planning agency approved the project. The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission voted to include the Illiana Corridor as a fiscally constrained project in their 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan. This follows Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Gov. Pat Quinn Planning inclusion of this project into their long range plans last October. This vote allows the Illinois and Indiana departments of transportation to continue the planning process and also pursue a publicprivate partnership Indiana Gov.
