The Plainfield’s Village Board amended ordinances pertaining to two areas of concern during their July 21 meeting. One of these ordinances relates to parking restrictions and the other regulates cigarette and tobacco dealers. “In November 2013, the village board approved an amendment to the village’s then-current parking, standing and stopping ordinance to address residents’ concerns related to parking on certain streets located near Walker’s Grove Elementary School, on days when school is in session,” Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek and Village Administrator Brian Murphy wrote in a memo. Konopek and Murphy added that new concerns have since arisen relating to parking, standing and stopping at that location and near other schools in the village. Although Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 has designated routes and locations for the drop-off and pick-up of students, there have been complaints about individuals using particular streets near schools as
