The village of Niles Fourth of July Parade will step off from Notre Dame College Prep at 9 a.m. The parade will feature local groups and organizations, as well as marching bands from around the country. The parade route starts at Notre Dame College Prep and ends at Grennan Heights at approximately 11 a.m., where residents can join the after parade Fourth of July festivities provided by the Niles Park District.

AUGUST 29 • BOLINGBROOK paRKIe’S 5K RUN. Aug. 29 at the Summer’s Last Blast celebration, 200 S. Lindsey Lane, Bolingbrook. Run, walk or push a stroller and make it a family event. First 500 participants will receive a t-shirt and a goody bag. Registration is now open. The race starts and finishes in front of the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex. The USATF certified course winds through subdivisions and park property on paved streets. Course monitors, split timers, and water stations will be provided.

SEPTEMBER 25 • ROMEOVILLE gLOW-N-gO 5K WaLK/RUN. 7 p.m. September 25. Registration and activities begin at Deer Crossing Park, 1050 West Romeo Road. The GlowN-Go 5K Walk/Run is a one-of-a-kind night-time event that is about enjoying the experience with your friends and family. The Summer Rooftop Music Series is back in 2015 for its sixth year. Formed in Chicago back in 1998, The Steepwater Band’s signature sound is a nod to early British blues, combined with a modern, raw and gutsy musical approach. A different live performance is featured each month.
