CoronaVirus Guide Book By Harriet Age 12

What is making so many people worry so much? We hear things on the news ‘A LOT’, which is making people anxious, confused and scared. The government is changing the law all the time, but that’s so people can be safe and clean. One of the things that are making people worry is social media, as not everything is true! Yes, you should wash your hands to prevent getting the virus, but not every second of the day, because that will make your anxiety worse and you could get bad eczema. Many people a day are buying toilet roll, a month’s worth of food, hand sanitizer; it may be good to be prepared, but not too prepared. As so many people are doing this, it’s making others think they should do the same. But I suggest not, i’m not saying you shouldn’t be buying these things, just don’t go OTT! As you hear about it everywhere, if you cough or sneeze, you get worried, you think you have it; but it may just be a tickle or a bit of a cold; just keep an eye on it.

9 things to keep calm: 1. Ignore any social media, as it may not be true 2. Try to think about something else 3. Write down your thoughts 4. Think about how many more people die a day with other illnesses (much more) 5. If someone tells you something, don’t think about it, it will make you more stressed 6. Talk to someone if you need to talk; don’t hide your thoughts. 7. Do your breathing and say to yourself, everything is going to be ok. 8. Do some colouring if your annoyed about it 9. Let all your thoughts go by doing mindfulness

5 things not to do: 1. Don’t constantly watch the news 2. Don’t think about what is different, instead think about what is the same 3. Don’t let your negative thoughts control you 4. Don’t get drawn into negative comments or scare stories 5. Don’t stay in bed all day doing nothing, make yourself a routine
