Come experience Miami’s freshest Mexican street food experience, at Coyo Taco! The wave-crested mural embellishing the font facade of the former warehouse is a new work by Bay-area based artist Aaron Kai. The building’s industrial quality is complimented by new flooring—a wash of lush Cuban concrete tile—and by a custom wooden dining table; an authentic Mexican import.
The light, airy dining area proceeds to a chic, windowless speakeasy lounge, where the floor takes on an inverted meso-american motif and the custom bar mocks up the same pattern as the fore, only in raw concrete. Our McKenzie Craft team installed the fire-seared gatorwood wall cladding, as well as the reclaimed board-formed herringbone concrete bar, low lounge tables, and the custom DJ booth, centered in the space.

1935 West Ave #102 M iami Beach, FL 33139 Located in the bourgeoning area of West and Purdy Avenues, Jugo Fresh contracted McKenzie Craft to build a bespoke retail venue with materials and aesthetic true to its dedication to organic, healthy and raw nutrition. McKenzie Craft worked closely with architect Robert Gallagher and Chroma Design, which allowed for flexibility in creating a seamless production and retail environment with a natural/minimalist aesthetic.

As JugoFresh expands across Miami, so does its aesthetic palette—JugoFresh Wynwood Walls is owner Matthew Sherman’s most ambitious restaurant interior to date. Architects Shulman + Associates, MADDesignGroup, and McKenzie Construction collaborated on the bold space, fusing religious themes with vivid color and lighting. A glass Nanawall entrance passes into a secluded, windowless interior.
The rear wall wall is covered in painted metal fans, providing a continuous blast of fresh air to clients seeking shelter from the heat; church pews and medical-grade serving trays angle in reverence toward the 18-foot wrapped service counter. The front service counter features a rapturous camouflage rendition of the Last Supper adorning the back of the kitchen. Sacrilege was never so healthy and refreshing: JugoFresh Wynwood Walls is a sanctuary of hue, saturation, and flavor.

“I was almost lost for words with the McKenzie crew putting in late hours to get the job done on time. Passion and pride are so evident with the team. Much appreciated.

D AW N T O W N M I A M I Over 110 teams submitted portfolios from around the world to compete in the creation of a low cost, temporary installation on the “Evolution of Miami.” Sixteen teams were chosen as finalists, each presenting their own proposals on the topic, with the international collaboration between Jacob Brillhart and Manuel ClavelRojo selected as the winning entry. In part digitally fabricated – and built with the assistance of McKenzie Construction – this kinetic art installation presents an interactive story of Miami’s rise. McKenzie Construction partnered up with the design to team to create this unique installation. Through trial and error, Jacob Brillhart and McKenzie Construction were able to complete the installation as it was first envisioned.
// MIAMI ART MUSEUM
The project is both machine and metaphor for the City, illustrating the complexity of Downtown and its rapid growth spurts over time. The structure is a 10’ x 10’ x 10’ aluminum box with a mirrored ceiling and base, illuminated with blue and pink neon lights that represent the water’s edge and the street grid of Downtown. Within the frame are 35 important buildings of Miami’s past and present, which are suspended above the neon by a vast network of more than 4,000 linear feet of rope and wire; 235 weights and counterweights; and 395 pulleys. Participants can interact with the installation by pulling a series of handles that extrude the buildings, creating a pop-up effect of high rises within Miami’s downtown.
EBERJEY
SOUTH BEACH
1905 Purdy Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139 Known for their soft, lacy and perfectly feminine lingerie and swimwear, Eberjey’s South Beach location was designed in line with its first shop’s use of natural materials, soft lighting and delicate details. Reclaimed oak flooring, custom dressers and vintage lighting accents come together with the space’s exposed concrete surfaces to create a sleek and modern while nonetheless intimate boutique. As with its first location in South Miami, the space was designed by Upstairs Studio.
“Our second Eberjey Boutique was highly delayed due to City permits and inspections. But the second we got the green light, the McKenzie team worked tirelessly to get the job done and the store open. The professionalism and passion they bring to work every day is rare and invaluable.

TKS MIAMI
SOUTH BEACH
1784 West Avenue, Bay 6/7 Miami Beach, FL 33139
After the sport of kitsurfing was introduced to Miami’s waters in the late 1990’s, the establishment of TKS Miami soon followed suit in 2004. The TKS interior is tailored to reflect that lifestyle with low-impact design and production, sustainably source materials and a positive atmosphere. The McKenzie Craft team provided and insalled the locally-sourced reclaimed wood throughout the space.

Emerging out of the McKenzie Craft workshop, our team of designers and fabricators completed another great partnership with The Related Group, producing more than twenty pieces that were installed into the new Icon Bay Condominium towers in the water front neighbor hood of Edgewater, M iami. Chief among the work is the lobby reception desk, composed of three stacked 100 long blocks cladded with a natural quartzite stone and supported only in a center pivot axis. Its considerable weight and massiveness presented to us one of the most challenging and impressive objects designed and built by our team.
The sculptural garden at Icon Bay was donated to the City of Miami, giving McKenzie Craft the opportunity to have its first work in a public park: six exterior polished concrete benches poured on-site without control joints incorporating softc u r v e d r e c l a i m e d Te a k b a c k r e s t s .
