Програмни бележки на Олга Георгиева за изложбата й "1 - 2 - 3 - 4" в Буларт галерия, Варна извадка от кореспонденцията между куратора Дора Дончева и автора
Моят художествен път се е определял често от автобиографични мотиви. Също, отношенията между хората винаги са ме интересували. В рисунките си изобразявам собствените си ежедневни срещи с хора, но и тези, които срещам като наблюдател. Аз " запечатвам " тези срещи с мобилния си телефон . По късно организирам и отразявам тези "спомени" в рисунки. Хората се превръщат в герои на собственият ми опит, което позволява нов поглед върху ежедневието, за което мислим, че познаваме добре. В тази произведения повечето хора са неразпознаваеми. Само подробното характеризиране на облеклата на изобразените герои, създава нещо като отличителен характер. Това е комбинация от близост и дистанция, която всички ние познаваме. Присъствието на тези хора ми дава сигурност, защото те са в моето обкръжение и въпреки това съм сама за себе си.

В рисунките, които съм създала през последните години, също ме е занимавало понятието " режим " . Може би ние всички живеем в границите на един режим, който е невидим и се управлява от законите на нашият разум. Аз започнах да използвам червения цвят, като знак на тази граница. Нашите решения - кого допускаме до нас и кого оставяме на дистанция - се определят от тази "граница". Нейното разкъсване е невъзможно, защото само я изместваме, защото разумът не ни го позволява.
В изложбата включвам и видео инсталацията "Понякога безсмислено ", в нея фокусът е поставен върху безсмислието на някои действия. Снимах се, как се опитвам, чрез издухване, да завъртя детска въртележка направена от мед. Това, разбира се, не се получи. По този начин вниманието на зрителя внезапно се съсредоточава върху безцелността на акта. Това ни учи на някои аспекти в човешкото поведение, как понякога преследваме цели без да осъзнаваме безсмислеността на ситуацията. За инсталацията "1 - 2 - 3 - 4", която послужи и за наименование на проекта в Буларт. Силен тласък за работата
ми е един документален филм - "Пари или живот". "Въпреки финансовата и икономическа криза , пазарът на изкуство е във възход . Маслените бои и инсталациите не са твърда валута , но те дават на купувача начин на живот и изображение, което няма да получите чрез други медии. Обаче как се дефинира успешното изкуство и кое прави успеха?" 1
Когато гледах филма разбрах колко много условия са необходими, за да бъде успешен един художник. Но освен всичко това е необходима щастливата ситуация-късмет. Книга, която също ми служи като вдъхновение за работата ми е Plattform2 от Michel Houellbecq, в която тема е отчаяното
търсене на един разочарован от живота човек, търсещ щастието в сексуалното удовлетворение. Книгата е едновременно и критичен анализ на модерната цивилизация и обществото , на които нищо не им липсва, и въпреки това или точно заради това, не могат да намерят нито сексуално удовлетворение,нито щастие.
"Имаме нужда от приключенията и еротиката , защото ние трябва постоянно да се убеждаваме, че животът е прекрасен и вълнуващ , и разбира се, имаме точно толкова нашите съмнения в това"3.
Тогава си зададох въпроси като : Ние в състояние ли сме да бъдем щастливи? Или щастието е винаги очакването на нещо ново, което ни принадлежи в бъдещето? Дървените плоскости, от които е изградена стълбата, трябва да създадат у зрителя усещането, че е хвърлил случаен поглед в нещо интимно . Но този "блик" не трябва да разкрие всичко. Това води до напрежение и желание за разширяване на зрителното поле, за да може да се "преживее" повече. Това, според мен, е четвъртата, но не последната – а може би и първата по значение, поанта в това, което представям.

Олга Георгиева (1986 Варна) живее и работи във Виена от 2005 година. Възпитаник на Националното училище по изкуствата „Д.Христов” ( 2005) Варна, специалност „графика”. През 2012 се дипломира с отличие в Университет по приложни изкуства -Виена,Австрия,специалност „Графика” в класа на професор Jan Svenungsson . Работи в областта на рисунката, графиката, инсталацията и видеото. Интересува се от човешките взаимоотношения в реално време и задава с творбите си риторични въпроси за съществуването. В биографията и присъстват престижни участия в колективни изложби, фестивали и кураторски проекти в България , Германия, Австрия, Холандия, Япония, Финландия, Испания,Тайван и др . Реализирала е осем самостоятелни изложби в България и Австрия. Нейни творби има в колекциите на Museum Angerlehner и Immobilien GmbH, Уелс; Red Carpet Collection , Виена; колекцията към сдружение Friends of Fine Arts , Виена,както и във колекцията на Университета по приложни изкуства във Виена. Olga Georgieva (1986 Varna ,Bulgaria ) lives and works in Vienna since 2005. Graduated from the National School of Arts " Dobri Hristov " in 2005 Varna and in 2012 from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria, in „Graphics" department, in the class of professor Jan Svenungsson. She works in the field of drawing, graphics, installation and video. She is interested in human interactions in real time and she sets her works into rhetorical questions about existence. As the remedy to her goals are the people, her own body or the delicate sense of self irony. Olga has taken participation in prestigious group exhibitions, festivals and curatorial projects in Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan, Finland, Spain, Taiwan and others. She has eight solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and in Austria. Her works are in the collections of the Museum Angerlehner and Immobilien GmbH, Wales; Red Carpet Collection, Vienna ; the collection of the association Friends of Fine Arts, Vienna, and in the collection of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She works with gallery "Steinek", Vienna. In the spring of 2014 she will going to China for artistic residence.

My artistic path was determined from the beginning of autobiographical motifs. Also, I have always been very interested in interpersonal relationships . In my drawings I document my own daily encounters with people but also those who present themselves to me as an observer. I "collect" these events with the digital camera of my mobile phone . Later arrange and I reflect these " memories. " This results in the following large-scale drawings . This transform into characters of my own experience that enable a new perspective on everyday that we think we know only seemingly good . In this work I present almost exclusively dar. most people without the relevant physical attributes would individualize these people. Only the detailed characterization of the garments of the individuals shown is for an individual feature that allows us to assign the fleeting encounter against something like distinctiveness. This combination produces a mixture of closeness and distance , which we all know and that is in my memory shaped into an image. This singular but unknown people create in me a sense of security because I 'm in their presence , yet for myself

In the drawings, which have arisen over the last few years I am also in the concept of „regime”. It could be that we all live within the confines of a regime for the time being invisible - our own which was created by the laws of our reason. I started to introduce the color red as a sign of this boundary in the drawings. Our decisions, who we approach and to whom we remain distant, are controlled by this limit and determined. To break the power of this regime and to cross the border but now has the consequence that a new frontier ahead of us as we the field of reason will not want to leave. The usable by us social field is indeed larger but we integrate the added "other" in the parent of the laws of reason space of relations. The color red is symbolized the desire for excess and at the same time our fear of separation from the laws of reason.
On my artistic path I often let myself be inspired by books. But there are some artists that inspire me. One of them is the Belgian photographer, painter and performance artist Francis Alys . He lives and works since 1987 in Mexico City. I find his artistic position very exciting, as it carries out its work with wit and irony, by a kind of transfer generates me very excited. I myself also seeking often joke in the meetings I then constituted, even if the situation was quite serious. The subject of the film „Sometimes pointless " is the futility. I filmed myself as I try for 9 minutes by blowing on a pinwheel of copper to make the move. This of course cannot. Thus the viewer's attention suddenly focused on the "pure”, purposeless activity. He can learn some aspect of human behavior that is usually obscured by the focus on a purpose.
"One - two - three - four" Installation A strong impetus for my work "one - two - three - four" was a documentary - " Money or Life ? " which was shown on 3sat . „Despite the financial and economic crisis, the art market is booming. While oil paints and installations are no hard currency, but they give the buyer a lifestyle and an image that is not going to get through other media. A book that continues to serve as inspiration for my work is Plattform2 by Michel Houellebecq. Platform is the theme in desperate search of a frustrated man who suffers from anxiety and binding looks for happiness and sexual fulfillment. The book is both a critical analysis of modern civilized society, which lacks nothing and still or just about cannot find sexual satisfaction and, consequently, also no luck.
If you look at the film, many conditions you may understand where an artist must meet in order to succeed. That what everyone agrees, is an artist that except all those other properties, you need luck.
"We need adventure and eroticism, because we must constantly convince themselves that life is wonderful and exciting, and of course we have our doubts as to it exactly.” 3
I then asked myself questions like: Does ultimately only have sex for happiness? And there are "lucky" at all? We are happy to be able or not we need after the occurrence of happiness always feeling the anticipation of a new happiness that lies ahead of us? We do not stretch and expand our horizon of expectations because time and time again in order to design our lives "meaningful" in a future? The wood panels, from which the staircase is built, should have thrown the viewer to create a casual look into something intimate feel. But this view is not yet allows everything. It leads to a voltage and the desire to expand the field of view in order to see more precisely can. In the drawings I reflect interpersonal relationships. Known but mostly unknown people are represented and tell her and sometimes my story. The color red symbolizes the connection and separation of the people depicted. But it also stands for the home to each of us builds around. The red symbolizes the law of another reason and is then due to the character of the self-created by each individual limit to the world and to others.
