From the editor I would like to thank all who participated in the magazine publication, as well as all who had presented their kennels and their beautiful bulldogs, and a way of life with them. Our goal isn’t only to publish pictures; with this magazine we want to help development and keeping of the breed, as well as a lifestyle with a bulldog. We also want to have a way to direct all potential buyers of the beautiful bulldogs; what to pay attention of when buying, and what is the responsible breeder and healthy bulldog. It doesn’t matter if the breeder is big or small, it is important that they love what they do, and they seek for breeding of as perfect and as healthy bulldog they can. Buying of a bulldog is not only buying of a dog, because bulldog with all its perfection becomes part of the family.

Johnny Deep Story The story began in 2011, when we decided to have a bulldog, as a simple family pet. I and my wife Elena had been searching on Internet for a breeder near Fiesole, (Firenze-Italy) the city where we live with our two child, Marco and Margherita. We choose one of the breeders we found, Emiliano Mari in Prato Italy, contacted him and went to have a look at the puppies he had. We would like to have a male, and we choose Johnny! He grew up, and Emiliano thought that he would be a show dog, so we brought him to Italian Dog Shows, and Johnny won few of them. In the year 2012 Johnny was shown at World Dog Show in Saltsburg where he toke 2nd place in Junior Class. We become a part of the world of dog show.

We met lots of breeders, and in particular, Alessio Mucciarelli, who, along with Emiliano Mari, told us about the possibility that Johnny goes to the UK. We met Peter & Jackie New, while Peter was judging in Italy. During the meal we discussed the possibility that Johnny could be shown in the UK. We all agreed that it would be a good idea, and then the next chapter in Johnny’s life began.

Johnny was shown in the UK for a short time during the summer of 2013, and he gained 1DCC at Bournemouth and a RDCC at Birmingham. Johnny returned to Italy to compete in the Italian Bulldog Club Show, where he became Italian Champion. In November 2013 Marco, Emiliano and I made a long journey back to the UK with Johnny, to take part in Bulldog of the year 2013. This show is one of the most prestigious shows in the Bulldog World, and one can take a part by invitation only. After the show Johnny stayed in the UK at the home of Peter New & Family. On the January 2014 Johnny won DCC & BOB Manchester Dog Show, DCC & BIS Manchester and Counties Bulldog Club, and became UK Champion.

On the March 2014 DCC & BIS Bulldog Club of Wales, DCC & BIS The Bulldog Inc (the oldest Bulldog Club). Crufts Johnny 2nd place Open Dog. After the show Johnny along with his family travelled back to Italy. On the 1st August 2014 our family, willing to go to the summer holidays, started a long journey to World Dog Show in Helsinki by car, here we met Peter New, Johnny’s best friend and handler, and realized our dream... Johnny took the 1st place in Champions class, CACIB, BOB and become CHAMPION WORLD CHAMPION. Johnny, after the World Dog Show Johnny went to UK to continue his wonderful carrier becoming UK BOY 2014...it was the first time that a foreign dog won this title!!!

On December 2014 Johnny come back to Italy to stay with his family. The 11th April 2015 Johnny entered with Peter New to the ring of the Montichiari Bulldog Show, won Champions Class, BOB, BIS.....and had an Award to his carrier from the Italian Bulldog Club....!!! After the great result at Bulldog Weekend in Montichiari, one of the most important European Show (200 dogs entered from 13 different countries), that has to be added to a palmers unique, and the wonderful award received from the Italian Bulldog Club, I think that the moment has arrived‌.Johnny has to be retire from show. It has not be easy to make a decision like this, Johnny has not yet 4 years old, but it is just thinking back to the last years that I have decided: thinking at all the results, all the trips with my family, all the people who cheered for him and in the respect of those who, with me , have worked hard for such a wonderful story‌ but first my decision is for MY CHAMPION!

Thanks Johnny to have brought me and my family over the moon and to have written such a wonderful story that would be never forgotten by those who has had the opportunity to be part!

Johnny is the most titled Bulldog in the history...Johnny will be the history. Now the only competition that you would have to do will be with me…. to take first place on the sofa! We can’t find enough words to thank Jackie & Peter for helping us to write Johnny’s story!!! Now Johnny is retired from Show and will relax with his family!

British so British - Myfairbull A fair & Top quality English bulldogs kennel full of love & passion ... Love at first sight ... : The first time I crossed the eyes of an English bulldog was in England where I used to live & work.... Immediately, I saw his heart and soul and my love at first sight for this breed began... Back to Brussels , Thomas & I used to live with 4 bulldogs (Winston,Mary,Daisy & Babou) as pet company for 5 years . By the lost of our beloved Winston ,we were devastated and naively we decided to have puppies with our Mary to keep one of her baby... A solid self-made basis experience.... : Quickly ,we realised how hard & complicated are to make bulldogs reproduction .Without any outside help ,we learned step by step ,years by years ,after sadness & enjoyment about English bulldogs and his reproduction .Our experiencegrown up on a very solid basis and our English bulldogs adventure really started & expanded ... A true unique bulldog passion life ...: Today , ” British so British - Myfairbull” , our English bulldog kennel is located in the countryside of Belgium. We are still living with all our dogs with us in the same education philosophy like we did with our 4 first bullies. With help of dog school courses and our love with all of each personally we succeed to create a perfect harmony all together. We go sometimes to dog shows with some of them where we always got very good results ,but are not fanatics and we prefer to spent most of our time in sharing our love with each of our bulldogs ... All our dogs are living with us (or us with them) in a healthy environment ,free and loved in the passion of the breed for many years. All are living and ending their life with us.

Our own bloodline... : That’s why ,we have the chance to live and learn with all our different generations of our bullies and therefore know perfectly what we are producing. However ,lots of our females never had any babies and wouldn’t . It is just the happiness to get them by passion. But , still time by time we have puppies. Of course , to avoid inbreeding but always in the perspective to keep our high quality line, we never hesitate to invest also in new standards boys that are the result of a magnificent work of other enthusiasts and professional breeders all over the world. But our choices are still well thinking in terms of our current bloodline, and our work since all those years . We never content ourselves with a dog born from a champion, said “of the moment” without in-depth analysis of the global genetic pedigree . The new top stud dogs must absolutely fit our current own bloodline. I must admit I am myself deeply passionate of knowing perfectly world bloodlines and are very proud to have the chance to own already some of the most I love more in our kennel ! Of course , modestly , we know perfectly nature is making part of its job in reproduction . However , we are sure now we took all our chances on our side to make the best chosencombinations mum & dad & all our litters are the result of our hard work of our own generations bulldogs based on the best selected rare worldwide bloodlines . Our babies are also professionally cared and raised in a family spirit which characterizes us.

The way to share our passion...: Always ,eager to learn and learn more and more ,we stay day by day open minded about the breed and its evolution .Even if we know very well the difficulty to produce “The perfect bulldog”, we will continue to do always our best and be up-to-date that people realize their dream :to welcome a joyfully beautiful bulldog puppy in excellent health, socialized ,balanced & fair! To get in contact with British so British-Myfairbull Kennel : Please do not hesitate to contact Isabelle & Thomas at myfairbull@live.be

Exclusive Bull...my kennel is situated in Belgium, Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium. From the moment we’ve built our house and moved in, I got my very first Bulldog and fell in love with the breed. I began showing him, and soon I got a second, a third, a fourth...there was no stopping anymore. Breeding wasn’t completely strange to me as I was born and raised in a family that loved and worked with dogs. Daily training the dogs and weekends always filled with either a judging appointment of my father, or a competition, it was dogs all year round. Growing up surrounded by dogs, competitive working dogs with high standards, and my dad being a world known judge of working dogs, frequently asked for seminars all over the world, I soon discovered that everyone has a passion, something you love doing so much you can’t imagine doing anything else anymore. In this competitive, demanding society were we all have to be engaged, work all the time , be the best mother to our children, be a perfect partner and housewife, have an interesting job and, at the same time, preferable be filling our spare time with something ‘different and interesting ’ to enrich ourselves spiritually and mentally. I’ve reached a certain phase in my life where I found myself asking “which passion do I actually have, how can I develop this so my life is 100% full’? Honestly, I just love being with my dogs all day, working with them starting early in the morning till late at night. When you want to do this right, take care of every dog as it’s supposed to be done, this is more time consuming than having a full time job. I’ve did both so I can compare, I even combined teaching high school students and breeding at the same time, but that was impossible to keep up. Every person needs to have a goal, a passion and devotion in life, in order to be happy. This has a positive reflection on my family life, because I feel I’m getting full support and they have benefit from having a happy, satisfied mother and partner. When Bagzy Bull came to me and asked me to write about my kennel, I doubted for a few days. I do not have a kennel for decades unlike other breeders; therefore the stock my dogs produced isn’t that enormous... on the other hand this was an opportunity to share what I find important in breeding bulldogs and why do I love doing this. Little by little I discovered owning, caring for, showing and breeding these magnificent bulldogs is what I love doing most in order to have a full and satisfying life, combined with being a mother to a wonderful daughter I love more than anything. I am a teacher in a high school, but I’ve put this on hold so I could make my dream come true.

Every day is different, and so every dog is. Each puppy is like a baby coming into this world: innocent and like a sponge, ready to take it all-in, and my job is to make sure that it ‘s all positive, so they’ll have the best possible start in life. I witnessed since my childhood that a good breeder always breeds as close to the standard as possible. I’m really thankful I was being able to have most of my dogs from Kevin, Norman and Pat Davis from one of the best kennels in the world ‘Mystyle/Ocobo’. Also my dear friend Lorraine Watkins from Shipshape Bulldogs in the UK, who I admire a lot for her devotion and dedication, has also given me some incredible dogs. It’s a true privilege to show and breed with such extremely healthy, strong and beautiful dogs, bloodlines and pedigrees that reflect years of knowledge and experience. Another criterion I find important is breeding truly healthy bulldogs. I always test my dogs for all known genetic diseases in order to decrease the possibility of a genetic illness. No doubt we all agree on the fact that having the most beautiful bulldog who can’t walk a mile, has breathing issues, skin problems, heart disease... is not the type of dog that will improve the breed or its reputation. Therefore I can honestly say that none of my dogs in my kennel has skin problems or heart disease, hip or back problems, breathing abnormalities, demodex or other problems. All my dogs eat a daily raw complete meal, well balanced with seaweed and salmon oil, so their immune system is strong and can do what it is intended for: keep their body healthy. Dogs and humans are similar; people get sick because of stress or bad nutrition, or because a genetic cause. Reducing these risk factors will lead to healthy, balanced dogs and puppies with happy owners: my ultimate goal. I also find very important to screen future owners. If I don’t feel a connection along the way, I always go with my instincts. My dogs are no goods I only want to sell, they are like my babies.

When a dog needs to be rehomed again, I prefer they come to me again so I can help find them a suitable place to stay for the rest of their life. Fairness and honesty is something I highly appreciate in people. I treat people the way I like to be treated myself. I like to advice people and help them along the way, questions about development, food, grooming, health, mating... I will always try the best I can to help.

Sharing knowledge is a good thing, so these dogs can benefit from it. Being a strong believer of Karma, I truly believe all positive energy you send towards people and dogs, eventually will have a positive outcome in life. This recent year I had several litters and I must say: I had the best time of my life. Yes, it was quite hard sometimes, breeding bulldogs feels like having a baby yourself from time to time when you think of lack of sleep, nevertheless it is most rewarding. I enjoy reading messages from owners telling me they are so in love with their newest member, sharing their success at shows or just sending me lovely home pictures so I enjoy watching them grow up. I will never forget them, one by one, litter after litter... It’s a dream coming true. So once again, thank you all for the support, friendship and trust that some of you have in me, my kennel and in my dogs. I will continue to do the best I can so the Exclusive Bull truly stands for healthy, well socialized and quality bulldogs. I breed based on pedigrees and in the back of my head I have a clear vision of the bitch and dog I will be mating, their phys- ical appearances, their movement, their behavior and preferable their progeny if its an older dog. I prefer not to do an outcross mating at the moment, although they have proven to be successful multiple times with several breeders. I like to have a consistent quality in my litters as I breed to keep stock for myself, rather than selling them immediately. Obviously, it makes me incredible proud when I see healthy, beautiful dogs performing well abroad which are born at my house.

I believe that it is important to start with quality females. I like a certain type and certain bloodlines, because these dogs are healthy and have good structure. Their progeny is proven to be of a high quality , all over the world. Fine breeding begins by having the right female, and looking for a dog that complements that female. This recent year I had several litters and I must say: I had the best time of my life. Yes, it was quite hard sometimes, breeding bulldogs feels like having a baby yourself from time to time when you think of lack of sleep, nevertheless it is the most rewarding thing I had ever done in life.

I enjoy reading messages from puppy owners telling me they are so in love with their newest member, sharing their success at shows or just sending me lovely home pictures so I enjoy watching them grow up. I will never forget them, one by one, litter after litter‌ This is what happens when you turn your biggest passion in life into your daily occupation: a dream coming true. So once again, thank you all for the support, friendship and trust that some of you have in me, my kennel and in my dogs. I will continue to do the best I can so the Exclusive Bull truly stands for healthy, well socialized and quality bulldogs. I breed based on pedigrees and a good idea of the bitch and dog I will be breeding, their physical appearances and do some research back in time of their progeny. I prefer not to do cross mating, although they have proven to be successful multiple times with several breeders. I like to have a consistent quality in my litters. I breed to keep stock for myself, rather than selling them immediately, but obviously, it makes me incredible proud when I see good quality dogs abroad which are born at my house. I believe that it is important to have quality females; I often get questions why I’ve bought so many females, more or less the same lines to begin with. The reason is obvious. I like a certain type, and these dogs are healthy and have good structure. Fine breeding begins by having the right female, and looking for a dog that complements that female.

I refuse to think that a dog can fix it all, so a dog will enhance-add or weaken some features. That is why I find it so important to work with healthy, quality proven bloodlines. Over the last years I’ve seen a change in bulldogs at shows all over the world. The most positive change is that they are getting healthier. I can only encourage this process. But another change strokes my eye… Bulldogs seem to get higher, longer, loose bone and structure, BUT they have a tail, preferable as long as possible. This makes me sad, but motivates me more as I love this breed so much. As long as I will breed these magnificent dogs, I will aim for nothing more and nothing less than the maintenance of the standard. It is hard enough to maintain this standard combined with extreme health, far more difficult than changing it. Why I find personality and charachter so important in adult and Bulldog puppies I learned the roots of any relationship as I am almost in my mid 30’s : honesty, integrity, loyalty. It’s hard to find a human to give you all three. But every dog, that’s all they know. Humans are the only species that follows unstable pack leaders. Animals don’t. They don’t know how. Why would they? Dogs are easy. People are often hard. They enter into a relationship loving a dog but without knowing a dog. So many people try to make dogs into human beings to fulfill a personal need, to be loved. It’s wrong to treat a dog differently than what it’s programmed to be. Often people follow the dog when they need to take the lead. That’s why I find it important to guide some owners along the way who have bought their first puppy or people who experience behavior difficulties such as puppies being too enthusiastic with little children etc. A bulldog growing up starts from cc. 300 gr. and ends up to a 30 kilo’s in a period of time of a year and a half, that’s a huge process in which they develop a lot of strength. Unbearable when its not controlled correctly because of a lack of leadership. Dogs are our mirrors and they reflect our energy. If the humans around them aren’t calm, then the dog can’t be calm either. Luckily I experienced my dogs keep me calm and give me so much positive energy. I like to see happy dogs, happy, self confident puppies who are not scared and like to find out

things by their own. It all starts with energy and it ends with energy in order to have a positive outcome. There’s no doubt in my mind that dogs have emotions. They feel joy after a job well done. They feel sad when a pack member passes away. And they feel love for their family members – their pack. However, it’s important to remember that those emotions are different from our own, I had to learn this a long the way. The feelings that dogs experience aren’t connected to complex thoughts. They don’t have ulterior motives or doubt. Their emotions are pure and honest. Your dog isn’t lying to you when he communicates that he loves you. Its just plane and simple, the way I like it most. This is what makes breeding, owning, showing bulldogs so special. Every minute of the day I have the opportunity to enhance our relationship so it gets stronger every time. I might not be around for such a long time in this competitive world of show bulldogs, but I am here to stay and I’ll enjoy every minute of it. I wish everyone the same positive things in life, in breeding, at shows as I wish for myself and I hope someone will ask me again in 10 years to write about milestones, champions, wins a shows, lovely litters, great pedigrees, people saying they’ve received so much love and strength, positive energy from one of my dogs… actually…that’s what makes me happy the most.

Tivoli Bulls

Multi Ch. WW Faith of the Tivoli Bulls

In 1989 we bought our first Bulldog, actually it were 2 sisters. So they could enjoy eachothers company. No intention of showing or breeding. One year later we did buy a 3rd female, with her I did my first dogshow and so it all started. In 1990 we applied for the affix “Of the Tivoli Bulls” and shortly after that our first litter was born. It was a “piece of cake” and wondered why people often said that breeding Bulldogs wasnt easy. Believe me, in the 25 years we are in the breed and many litters later I do understand it. As I mentioned “Tivoli Bulls” started officially in 1990, in the Netherlands. The neighboorhoud we lived in was called “ Tivoli” that explains our affix. Tivoli Bulls are 2 persons my husband Hans and I, both very fanatic. Hans more in breeding and producing the “perfect Bulldog” myself I like to show dogs but breeding is a passion to. Dutch Ch. Winner Amsterdam BOB 2014 Errol-Flyn Jubilee

We started to show dogs and quickly reaching a higher level, if I may say it like this. In 1994 the first Champion was reality, Ch. Makepeace of the Tivoli Bulls who won BOB at the Dutch Ch. Club show, in the same year the 2nd Dutch Champion named Choc-nut Muffin of the Tivoli Bulls.

Our 1st imported male was from the UK, Isgraig Bendingo Boy, who became a worthy Multi Champion and did a lot of good for the breed in those years. He won in 1995 BOB at the Dutch Ch. Clubshow under strong competition. In 1996 his daughter Covergirl of the Tivoli Bulls won Best Bitch CC at the Ch. Clubshow. The next year, 1997, a strong female named Bloody Mary of the Tivoli Bulls took the top honours with BOB at again the Ch. Clubshow in Holland under Mr. P. Roosenboom. She is still recordholder with 226 Bulldogs entered at the Ch. Clubshow in the Netherlands. She was born out of Makepeace and Bendingo Boy. Bloody Mary was shown in a lot of countries in Europe which resulted in a many National and Int. Ch. titles. One of the most memorable was BOB at the European Champion show at Genova in Italy. Never will forget the main ring, still get “goose bumbs” remembering the crowd and support. In 1999 we moved to Belgium to a small town called Lommel, just 20 km from were we used to live. More space for the dogs and us which we enjoy every minute of the day. Multi CH. Bloody Mary of the Tivoli Bulls Belgian, Dutch, German, VDH, International and European Champion (BOB), Junior Winner Amsterdam, Belgian Winner 98 + 99, BOS Belgium Ch.Clubshow 97 + 98 + 99, Clubwinner Germany 97 Clubwinner Holland 97 Bloody Mary has won BOB with the unbeaten record of 226 Bulldogs We did get more and more involved in the breed and started to sell abroad, many of them became champion. Several exports made name for our Kennel: Ch Big Spender of the Tivoli Bulls, top dog 2004/2005 in Brazil, Multi Ch. Grand Slam of the Tivoli Bulls, Ch Davidoff of the Tivoli Bulls and Ch King of Ring of the Tivoli Bulls in Russia. Int. Ch. Calypso of the Tivoli Bulls in Japan, Ch. Douglas of the Tivoli Bulls in the Philippines, Ch Easy Rider of the Tivoli Bulls and Ch. Luciano of the Tivoli Bulls in South Africa, just to name a few.... We have a total of 43 Champions, of which 40 home-bred, till today and more to come!

Jackpot of the Tivoli Bulls

2007 was the year we had a litter with a white female pup it, my husband fel in love from day one and totally convinced with 14 days old he said to me “we both dont like white dog but this will be the first one who stays” I looked with “horror” to a white female puppy and finally did agree to keep her. We named her “Faith of the Tivoli Bulls” and with her a new chapter started. She grew up into a beautiful youngster but with a super stubborn character, not easy to handle in the ring.

If the “madam” didnt like it she wouldnt move at all.... that needed some extra training, Faith and I became a team and after that it was collecting points. She moved like a dream had short and compact hard body and the head what was needed. Never enjoyed so much showing a dog as with “Faith” Ginger as she is called at home, this female had it all, a natural beauty! Many titles she won with proud and as crown she gained her World Winner title in 2009 In Bratislava under Mr. V. van Raamsdonck. She is still in our home, getting and old lady but her beauty and character is still very present something what my husband and I still appreciate every day. The males we imported and who contributed to level we are now; Aberdaron Luc of Kelloe (son of Ch. Medbull Gold Dust over Kelloe), Bollglade Red Alert (son of UK & US Ch. Rowendale Rum Truffle with Bollglade), Calibra Calvin Klein, Mdenapoli the Golden Boy (son of UK Ch. Jumano Johnny be Good), Merriveen Thats Mine... Now we are in 2015 and still as eager as always to breed a beautiful bulldog with everything on it whats needed. From time to time we import new males to get “fresh blood” in our kennel. Sometimes a female but thats more exceptional as we have good home bred females. Our latest import is Errol-Flyn Jubilee, breeder Stefan Sinko from Slovenia, who I have shown the last years with joy to his Champion title. About health, I have one sentence: If a dog is not healthy he/she doesnt belong in a breeding program and not on a dogshow and be selective in what you keep from your litters. Dolce Vita of the Tivoli Bulls Our opinion about the breed typical virtues we like to see in a Bulldog is a good head. As often said, the bulldog is a head-breed, one of the things I learned from in the early beginnings and never did forget. Specially the lay-back with a well turned-up underjaw, length of skull and if this all can be accomplished with a well filled muzzle, then we have a head. Knowing they have a body to and that its a total dog what makes a winner, but still its 1st the head and front then the body. If this all is in one dog, mission completed! Not as easy as its sounds... and not easy to find this all in 1 dog, but making a good breeding plan with knowing where you heading to is the most important and then its Good Luck!

Doris Boyd How to present a person who is full of life and love and dedicated to the family, people and bulldogs? True love for bulldogs inspired her way of life and the desire to pass her knowledge to others. The richest person is the person who has the knowledge, love and patience and who can and want to transmit it to the other generations. Therefore inspire new generations, to encourage the proud owners of their pets to perform their beautiful pets in the exhibition and presentation of them in the best possible way. Each seminar and training under the supervision of Mrs. Doris Boyd is a spectacle of professionalism, charisma, knowledge and art. We can write for days and still remain sketchy, because we always have something new to see and learn from Mrs. Doris Boyd:

“I do it all because I love our bulldogs and I care about the people that own and care for them.” In this section I will quote only a small part from educational seminars Mrs. Doris Boyd:

When I was asked to put in writing just a few of the really important things to remember when training or showing your dog. I’m not sure I can convey to you what I do or why I do it It’s all so automatic and that’s because I’ve been doing this for 50 years. Don’t just go in the ring and try out what I’m writing down. You’ve got to practice until your puppy knows what you expect of him Practice until it becomes so natural, you do it without thinking. These are suggestions that which may not all work for you. There are no hard fast rules for showing a dog. Whatever works for one may not work for another.

There are two things that I really insist on when teaching a class. Always use a loose lead and a soft gentle hand on your dog. I realize there are times when a correction has to be used but a soft gentle touch will let him know everything is alrightt again. I use a lot of grouching when I’m showing. I can place a hand on his face and never say a word and he knows I have him, and everything is okay… Gaiting: If you have a problem with your puppy moving in a straight line beside you, some call it side winding, there are a couple of things you can do to discourage this kind of movement, before it becomes a habit. Most of this starts as a puppy while learning to gait. If the puppy moves in too close, our tendency is to use the lead to push/pull the puppy back away from the legs. Instead of pulling or pushing him away, just change hands with the lead and let him move on your right side. I always move a puppy on the left and right sides. It just makes sense if you always move the puppy on your left side and he is always looking up at you over his right shoulder, some muscles are not being used. If this doesn’t work, move out in front of the puppy and with bait or a toy, get him to come to you head on as you walk backwards. You might feel silly and look even sillier but it works. Don’t do this in the ring, just while practicing. It takes time....be patient ....

Professional handler - Aneliya Shankova

My name is Aneliya Shankova and I am from Bulgaria. My family and I have been having a kennel for Labradors and Whippets for almost 15 years now. I started handling at the age of 8, I’ve been doing this for 18 years now. So far I have trained and presented dozens of breeds, together we have won first places all over the world. My biggest achievements are the world and European titles as well as first prices at Cruft’s, Eurasia, Amsterdam winner, Luxemburg winner. I made my first steps in the world of cynology thanks to a person who unfortunately is not with us any more – Anton Todorov. He was the one to show me what a dog show and a handler are. He was the first person to ensure everyone that “I have this in my heart”. Of course there are many other people I learnt and I will never stop learning from. My work with established dog breeders allows me to learn new things every single day. I have worked with many breeds so far. I am not sure I can list them all but I can mention the breeds I’ve been presentin the most often in the last few years: French Bulldog, Golden Retriever, Labrador, Samoyed, Pomeranian, Dalmatian, St. Bernard, Welsh corgi, Pharaoh Hound, Schnauzer, South Russian Ovcharka, Pyrenean Shepherd, Flat-coated Retriever and Basenji. I don’t really have a favourite breed. Still there are dogs you can work very easily and pleasantly with. These dogs love shows, want to present themselves and always do it extremely well! There are many examples but one of the most successful partners I’ve ever had was a French Bulldog named Maximo de la Virreyna. I cannot describe what I feel when I show this dog. He walks like a champion, acts like a champion and that is the reason why he is such a big champion. It won’t be a mistake to say that he was born to win but also that I am lucky to be his handler. The truth is that the life of a handler is not an ordinary life – your working day is not fixed, you cannot enjoy your weekends planning places to visit and people to meet. However, the possibility to travel around the world every week and to see places you’ve never seen before is incredible indeed. I think of this activity as of a hobby that brings me enormous pleasure. I can say of myself that I am really lucky for being able to turn the both activities I adore into a professional occupation. The first one I already mentioned is handling, the second one is sport. Apart from handling I work as a sports aerobics trainer for one of the leading sports clubs in the world. My days are full of dogs and children. Well, am I not really lucky!

More than 15 years ago one of the main persons in the Russian Cynology Federation gave me two very important advices that I stick to even today. The one was that if you want to be respected by others, your efforts have to be well paid. The other one was that you always have to present dogs of good qualities. You have to create the image that you only work with champions. The judges will remember this. It really is not easy for me to refuse an offer of a potential client but I sometimes have to. The profession of the handler is one of the few occupations that not only require lots of knowledge but also strong love. Love for dogs, love for the work with them, knowing when and how to motivate them, knowing their inner world and talking to them without words. I don’t think anyone can do this. Working with animals definitely is not a profession but a calling. I don’t agree with the widespread perception that the handler is the shadow of the dog. A handler and a dog as a team is the most beautiful sight. The dog cannot succeed without the handler but the handler can also not succeed without the dog. That’s why it is so important for them to fight for the victory together! The mail rule in my job is to do this with a smile. Technically, I must say that the task of the handler is to highlight the advantages of the own dog and to hide the shortcomings.

I love every dog I work with. Dogs are pure creatures that would accept anyone who treats them with love. That’s why we achieve so impressive results with them – world and European awards, Best Of Breed as well as repeatedly Best In Show! The advice I would give to starting handlers is not to take their job too commercially! Yes, it is a profession but in order to be good at it you have to do it with much love and with positive attitude. Enjoy handling, love animals and show it to them! Be honest when competing; respect your rivals and the judges.

Veterinary facts Being a English Bulldog is something which could be described as happiness, harmony and trust. Being the owner of English Bulldog means you have family member in the bottom of your heart with passionate desire to help him and keep mutual, strongest feeling of unconditionally lucky, in all days‌ Actually, English Bulldogs are breed with a great expansion. However, it would be useful to look quite deeper in their healthy needs. First of all, it might be crucial how to choose your future friends in his puppy days. Very important aspect of choosing the puppy is to take a wide look at conditions where puppy is growing up. Unfortunately, many of breeders, if we could call them such as, hold this wonderful breed as a chance to reach financial benefit, so they do not have a worries if puppy suffer without medical help. It would be reasonable from the breeder to wait, if you pay for puppy the best price. To be more specific, origin of skin problems is allergy, which definition describes as immunity defect of skin barrier which allow allergens to penetrate through skin and produce high level reactions recognizing by scratching the face, ears ,in the axillary region and linking the distal parts of legs. In order to situation, you have to know to avoid puppy with scratching. On the other hand, useful information about allergy is coming from nutritive allergens.

The most common nutritive allergen which could provoked symptoms is chicken protein. From our experience as doctors and breeder, avoiding this kind of meat results in lower prevalence of nutritive allergy appearing .You should know that nutritive type of allergy show ear scratching and head shaking according to pruritic ear canal which is full with dark sebaceous contents. Bulldog is the special . Its commitment and personality is outstanding. Not all Bulldogs

are exhibition specimens, but we owners love them most in the world, because they deserve all the love we can give to them. Therefore the exhibition Bulldogs are just one part of the breed. What does this mean: A bulldog is the canine icon of UK, and to get such a title he had to earn it! The trait which had received this attention is its character, and in the range of its perfections, and commitment is on the first place, thereafter comes its fearlessness and perseverance... We must recognize its nature which is more than sufficient for the throne. So, the dog standard setting and controlled breeding in this direction had begun much later. Preserving of the standard is very important, as breeding of the healthy individuals. The most important is shown by the arrow in Fig. By S.Kosoric

Finding a Bulldog Puppy Advice So you have read all the books, magazine, look at Fb, talked with other owners, saw that cute Bulldog puppy and decided that the Bulldog is really what you want, and fits into your living standards. Where do you go to find one? Well first,” stay clear from resellers” . You may have heard this advice before and wondered why? The answer is simple: most buy puppies from irresponsible Breeder and suspicious quality puppies. They will all tell you that they have a special breeder they work with or that the puppies are from a “local breeder”, but you can’t contact them or even get the breeder’s name without buying the dog. No ethical dog breeders will sell to a resellers, because ethical breeders want to be the ones to screen the homes to which their puppies go. Now that you have identified the breed that suits you and your lifestyle best, its time to find a responsible breeder. So where DO you find a bulldog puppy? Most breeders will screen you and verify to their satisfaction that you will make a good owner for one of their puppies. This is not only common, it should be expected. Be wary of someone who is willing to sell you a puppy without properly checking you out. Ethical breeders care about where their puppies end up and will be your best resource to answer questions you may have in a week or in five years. A responsible breeder is the best source for a well-bred, healthy dog. The breeder will carefully select the parents of each litter to emphasize desirable attributes and minimize faults in their progeny.” Some people breed dogs only to produce puppies to sell. These individuals have no regard for the advancement of that breed; they are motivated solely by profit.” Responsible breeders will never breed a litter without considering the advancement of the breed. Each litter should improve the quality of breeding stock, resulting in Another good reason to buy a puppy from a breeder is that gives you the opportunity to interact with the puppy’s siblings and dam, also possibly the sire.

You can, therefore, form a general impression of what the future holds for the puppy you take home. Buying from a breeder means that you are part of an extended family. Most breeders expect a call if the dog has a crisis at any stage in its life so they can help you understand and cope with the problem. This can be especially comforting for the first time dog owners who can’t even imagine what kinds of questions they’ll have in the future. Visit as many breeders as possible for your breed. Examine the premises to make sure they are clean and that the dogs appear to be well cared for. Puppies should be clean, well fed, lively and friendly, without any signs of illness such as runny nose or eyes, skin sores, or dirty ears or fleas. Your puppy may be sold with a requirement for spay/neuter or on limited registration. Breeders who carefully evaluate the puppies their dogs have produced will want only those dogs that have something to offer the breed to be used for breeding. As the puppy buyer, it is your responsibility to respect the wishes and experience of the breeder. Talk with the breeder and get all the details worked out in advance. A written contract with all terms and conditions carefully laid out and understood by both parties is a necessity. Keep in mind that not all provisions of a contract need to be enforced, but a carefully written document, fair and agreed to by both breeder and purchaser, is the best protection both can have. Every breeder at some point will have a puppy that does not meet the standard or has one of a number of problems. That doesn’t make the dog inferior, but you need to know what you are getting. Buy from an ethical breeder and ask questions, look at the dogs, see if things sound right, then make your decision. Below will be some helpful questions to ask a breeder.

Questions to ask a breeder before buying a puppy from him? Are your Puppies Registered? Do you have the litter Registrations forms now? Do you have a Pedigree available for me to see or have? How Long have you been breeding Bulldogs? (if only a short period of time, from where or whom did you learn about bulldogs?) How many litters have you raised? How many litters has this bitch produced? Are the sire or dam on your premises for me to see? (you should see at least the dam) Have your pups been check for entropies? Are you a member of any recognized Bulldog clubs, FCI registered? What food are you feeding the pups? Where does the breeder keep his Bulldogs? Inspect their living conditions. Do you have a sales and/or breeders contract? What type of health guarantee do you offer? Do you provide some type of “Care Package of Instructions”, to help me care for my new puppy? How is the puppy being sold, Limited or full registration, and/or a spay/neuter contract? Do you have a record of the shots, med’s, Vet visits, etc., that the pups have had?

These questions should be asked and answered to your satisfaction. The same will apply to the breeders questions to you. It’s a great breed and the needs is very simple, give it respect and care, be responsible! In this day of the Internet it’s possible to buy a puppy from another state and have it shipped to you. Keep in mind that doing this requires absolute trust in the other party. Get recommendations, talk with other buyers, and don’t skip checking the references. There are many sides to the shipping issue. Some people don’t think twice about shipping a puppy based on faith in the breeder, others will only buy a dog this way if they can personally pick up the puppy. Still others won’t fly a puppy or adult dog for any reason. It’s a personal choice you have to make after carefully checking out the alternatives. There are merits to all sides of this issue. The most important thing to keep in mind is that Bulldogs and heat (and stress) are not a good mix. Part of the formula for decision knows the personality and health of the puppy or dog.

English Bulldog in home and Barbara Udovičić Papeš Our Bulldog story began 12

years ago when my husband and I decided to buy our first Bulldog. Specifically, my husband was the one who chose the breed, while I was the one who imagined us with beautiful Golden Retriever or Labrador looking forward to our long walks together.

Looking back, I just can’t believe that I have not always been such a fan of this unique breed! But the very first contact with our Božo changed everything - since that tiny white ball of happiness hit our lives, we couldn’t imagine living without a Bulldog anymore.

Meanwhile, our never forgotten Božo went over the Rainbow and as time passed, our family increased - along with our son, Daniel Bartol, our hearts and home welcome two playful little babies, Bulldogs of course, named Berta and Blaž.

Nowadays, thank to those twoyears-old Bulldogs we have come to believe that there are healthy Bulldogs after all! If you carefully choose a good breeder, take care about regularly visits to your vet as well as ensure your Bulldog quality diet and sufficient exercise, you will have a healthy and happy pet!

I suppose that all of you reading this has already experienced the joy of living with a Bulldog and it is probably unnecessarily to highlight how charming and yet legendary stubborn they are, what golden heart they have and, moreover, that aesthetic beauty visible only to the chosen ones.

If you don’t know the breed, I’m sure that through reading those pages you will see what have you been missing and undoubtly you’ll wish to meet in person this unique silly little creatures. And then try to resist them, I dare you!

Tesa & Badi

Our story with bulldogs began back in year 1997. We brought to our home beautiful female puppy bulldog which tied us up forever to this breed. Our Bela was our pet for two years, thereafter we bought one more puppy. Beautiful male puppy which we waited for a long time. Bela accepted him like a best mom. Deni was her baby who she taught and looked after him. Unfortunately, Deni left us when he was only six months old, he didn’t survive chigoe bite. Bela stayed alone for a year, then she left us too. Mourning for our pets, years passed. We made our mind not to have bulldogs anymore.

Everything what the older decide, children usually break, of course. So, year 2008, our children decided instead of us that it is time for father to get bulldog pet. So our Tesa came, our molly, our sun, our love, our family member.

Year 2012 Tesa gave us six puppies, which we raised as little babies. Four of them stayed alive, three females and one male. We donated females to our friends, and left male with us. Badi is three years old and Tesa is seven. Tesa and Badi are our babies, our mollies, which makes every our day nicer, better and filled.
