PRAYER GUIDE for parents of Baylor Missions’ Team Members
Pray that God opens the eyes of your student to how this experience will help them learn and grow in their chosen area of study and plans for the future.
VOCATION
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11
Use this verse to pray over the preparation of your student's heart, soul, and mind.
HEART, MIND, & SOUL
Take time to look up the history of and recent events that have happened in the country where your student's mission trip is taking place. Pray over the community they are traveling to - pray for their people, the impact of current events, their progress, etc.Â
LOCATION
Pray over the organization your student will be working with, the people they'll be working with, and the relationships that will be formed from this work.
DEVELOPMENT, STRENGTH, & GROWTH OF GLOBAL PARTNERS
There are many anxieties that come with going on a mission trip (or sending a student on a mission trip). Pray that your student would lay down any anxiety they are feeling and ask God for God’s peace. Take time to give God any worries that you are feeling about the trip.
YOUR STUDENT
Pray for your student's ability to see each part of the journey they are going on as a way to learn more about themselves, others, and God.
THE JOURNEY AHEAD
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10
Use this verse to pray over the ways God will encourage, challenge, stretch, and grow your student during their trip.
GROWTH IN HEART, MIND, SOUL
Pray for leaders of your student's team that they would lead with wisdom and grace.
TEAM LEADERS
Pray for the relationships of the team members going with your student, that they would be encouraging partners on this trip.
TEAM MEMBERS
All the details of the trip, big and small, are important to the Lord. Today, pray safety, health, travels, and any other detail of the trip that is on your mind.
SAFETY, HEALTH, TRAVELS
