Market is a place where public users and residents are allowed to sell and buy at the same time. The exisitng one has been built since 2000 without any renovation and upgrade.
There a lot of problem occurs in reality to that market such as functions and comfort of interior and unorganized space arrangement of the whole market. My new proposal to rennovate that market into the market which serve as the requirement of resident as well as to support environmental impact. The existing market locates in zone where surrounding by residential area, The potential land of market should be placed. Location provides the quantification of requirements over residents for their need and life styles. CONCEPT APPROACH

Existing market covers with the roof which was designed demonstrating bias to the chinese style for dynamic roof and respecting to Central market of Phnom Penh

SENSOK CULTURAL COMMUNITY CENTRE STUDIO : SENSOK This project is a community center that names “SEN SOK COMMUNITY CENTER” that aims to fullfill all people needs in that area that stand on three main core value such as connectivity, susbstainability, and Khmer architecture style prority. It will mainly function as the biggest public gathering space in the area to give the sense of comfort and connectivity to resident in that area. Moreover, it care about the sustainable design that care about the flow of the air, ventilation, the recycle of water, greenery space and so on. Khmer architecture style is also take into consideration toward this project since in this area itself, it’s lacking of Khmer architecture.

DESIGN INSPIRATION
HORSE
Building Form somehow inspied by horse shape for top view blending with khmer architectural style to synchronize the beauty as the core point
- Khmer traditional leather pattern is used to implement its own pattern on facade for allowing natural light source into building - Verticle Louvres are used to make the volumes to the dead form alive as the pattern of the leather surface running in both horizental and verticle direction

LIFESTYLE USAGES This project is design to provide a free access with many funtions for people to use. Lobby in the middle for greeting people and link to art exhibition hall which provide culture national treasure with photo, Auditorium where people can have a speech or performance that come from workshop in the first floor such as Music, Lbox Ktao, dancing etc...., Lounge and relax hall is a place where people take a break after reading and learning in Library in the north-west of building.

Pick 3 different rectangular masses to combine into a singular mass
Remove some shape to improve space design and concept related
Cut out more shape to allow cross ventilation and sun shading to exterior circulation
Adding roof design into the form to maintain the form of khmer concept

Deconstructivism Architecture

| Design Inspiration
Deconstructivism architecture is somewhat the style which represent the contemporary architecture and it was created to go against simplicity of modernism. It was successful since the arrival of technology in architecture field to help fulfil the incompleted part of old deconstructivism. CAD drawing and understanding fundermental of strucutre of nature of material, allow the form itself to be twisted or fragmented. Pavillion is nevertheless the permenent shelter but a temporary one which can provide a space within to gather and chit-chat; furthermore, it opens for public users. As mixing to approach the concept of deconstructivism, Modern wood is used for covering roof panel, column and beam to lower the feeling of uneased and unidentified exposed structure, while steel and cable are used to support the roof on different part.

Khmer guesture dacing hand is used to be inspiration of overall form imagination. The flow of each hand represents softness and stiffness at the same time. on the other hand, it has become more humble when constructing along deconstructivity
