Blossom Attaberry Is the eldest of three. She’s as busy as busy As a bunny can be. She plays with her sister, Bloom is her name. They play hide and don’t peek, Their favorite game. Her brother is Bud, He’s a wee tiny sprout, And all the day long He follows about. They leap and they hop, They chase one another. But when they are called They LISTEN to Mother!
Elsie Attaberry, Mother of three, Is as busy as busy As a bunny can be. She reminds her children When they go out to play, “Don’t trample our carrots, And don’t jump in the bay.” “Don’t go to the woods,” She warns them, “Beware! Of things that eat fish, Especially bears!” “But if you behave And go straight up to bed, I’ll read you the tale A Lady Bug’s Thread.”
Blossom Attaberry, Who is only three, Is as busy as busy As a bunny can be. She leapt out of bed To go out and explore And that’s when she found Something placed at her door. In a warm cozy blanket It was bundled up tight And pinned with a note To be found at first light. The strings of her heart Were tugged that morning. She would ask to keep Bao Bao Despite Mother’s warning.
But Elsie Attaberry, Mother of three, Is as busy as busy As a bunny can be. She was far too harried To consider a bear. She already had three Of her own hungry hares. “No! Blossom,” she answered, “It’s the craziest wish! Bears stink to high heaven, Growl, and eat FISH!” “Bunnies eat carrots And cabbages, Dear. Bears are quite different, Just look at their ears!”
Now Blossom Attaberry, The bravest of three, Answered her mother Most definitely. “We’re meant for each other, I’ve seen the red thread! Connected forever, That’s what YOU read.” “And yes, it is true. Our ears are quite long, But a grizzly with short ones Still can belong.” “I promise to love it With bear hugs and kisses, And if you insist I won’t feed it fishes.”
Elsie Attaberry, Mother of three, Loves her children As much as can be. “You must cook and clean Pick them up from the floor. Caring for wee ones Can be a real chore.” “You are often forgetful And leave things about. We haven’t the room, Of this I’ve No DOUBT!” “Blossom, my darling, This you should know, It’s not only hugs That help little ones grow.”
So Bao Bao and Blossom, After Mother agreed, Are as busy as busy As best friends can be. They work in the garden, Giving hugs and sweet kisses. She even makes special Veggi-bear-ean dishes. They play till they’re dirty, So does Bao Bao the bear. At the end of the day They wash EVERYWHERE.
And when they are tired By bed time, or past, They snuggle and whisper “Together At Last.
