Carex

Also known as sedge, this large group of ornamental grasses encompasses a variety of forms, from dwarf tufts to large tussocks, with slender leaves ranging from pale green to bronze. The ribbonlike, variegated foliage of ‘Feather Falls (PBR)’ cascades beautifully over pots, edges or retaining walls.

Blue fescue

With finely textured tufts of silverblue foliage, this landscaping superstar is perfect for creating dreamy drifts or adding texture and interest to rockeries or perennial beds. It grows up to 30cm tall and produces spikes of pale-green-tolight-brown flowers in summer.

Lomandra

Depending on the variety, this wonderfully versatile, clumpforming native with glossy, grasslike leaves grows up to a metre tall. It makes a striking feature when mass planted or used as edging. Its fountain-like foliage also looks great spilling over the side of a pot. Tolerant of drought, wind, frost, sun and shade, it grows well anywhere.

Mondo grass

This hardy, evergreen perennial forms dense mounds up to 30cm tall and 10-15cm wide. Happy in full sun or part shade, it’s ideal for defining borders and edges, planting between pavers or mass grouping under trees, and is low maintenance once established.
