Australia’s best DIY projects 2021

BEFORE Once again we’re celebrating #diyjuly by searching for Australia’s best DIY projects. Spending extra hours at home has inspired much creativity, from simple crafty makes to complete room makeovers – and we’d be thrilled to see what you’ve been up to!

This year we’ve teamed up with the experts at Dulux to find the country’s top DIY tasks. Chances are, with myriad colours and specialist paints as part of the vast Dulux collection, you may very well have used a Dulux product to finish your own job! So whether you’ve taken on a small revamp or undergone a full room renovation, we want to hear from you.

A select showcase

Look out for the September issue of Bunnings magazine, in store on Thursday, August 26. We’ll present the best reader projects as judged by our panel (below). You can also view them online at bunnings.com.au/diy-july.

Enter one of five categories:

Best bathroom/laundry makeover Have you retiled the bathroom floor or redesigned the laundry to master the mountains of clothes? Let’s see your work!

Best kitchen makeover Transformed a bland and barely functional cooking space into a haven for the whole family? Send it on in.

Best paint project If your paintbrush and roller restored the front door, or made their mark on a feature wall, share the rad refresh.

Best small project No project is too small – let’s see that ingenious spice rack! Built a bench seat? Don’t hold back – shoot it through.

Best upcycled project If you’ve given a new lease of life to a preloved household item, we can’t wait to see your creativity.

HOW TO ENTER Share your project on instagram using #DIYJULY or send an image or two of your work, together with a brief rundown of what you DIY-ed, to diyjuly@bunnings.com.au. If the project’s a makeover, a ‘before’ pic will help heaps. Feel free to enter the same project in more than one category. The best will be showcased in the September issue of the magazine and online at bunnings.com.au. For full terms and conditions, visit bunnings.com.au/diy-july. Entries close Friday, July 30, 2021. *Please remember that all professional work, such as plumbing and electrics, must be carried out by licensed trades.
