Metal Detection

Why use Metal Detection: The most common of foreign material within food processing is metal. This contamination can cause damage to further processing equipment, but is also a safety hazard for consumers. Metal contamination that makes it into the food supply can cause untold brand and reputation damage to the supplier. Bunting速 Metal Detectors sense and remove the presence of ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless metals in a process flow, or as a packaged item. These units can also find metal encapsulated in the individual food particle. Successful detection and separation of metal will protect your processing equipment from damage, which saves your organization money and down time. Assuring the highest product quality and absence of metal contamination in your product, protects your reputation, and keeps you viable in the market.

How they work: Bunting Metal Detectors utilize triple coil design for the search head. This is comprised of windings around an aperture opening, whether round, or rectangular. There is a transmitter in the center, and two receivers (one at entrance of the search head, and one at the exit). Within the aperture opening, an electromagnetic field is created. When a piece of metal passes through the coil opening, a signal is generated and calculated at each receiver. Advanced software performs calculations with the signal readings and activates further operations or devices.

Mechanical Considerations:

Metal Detection

All metal detectors are highly sensitive pieces of equipment, and need to be protected from environmental interferences such as vibration and other electrical fields. Bunting速 Metal Detectors are engineered and manufactured to the highest standards, giving you the most advanced signal processing and greatest level of reliability in your manufacturing environment. All search heads are filled with a catalyzed epoxy. There are no empty voids inside the housing, thereby eliminating the possibility of water intrusion to the coil. This exclusive epoxy also reduces the effect of vibration to the search head. Coils and electronics can be rated from IP54, to IP66 and IP69k. Additionally, the search head is manufactured with leading edge technology for special shielding against outside interferences. This allows Bunting Metal Detectors to perform better in difficult environments, and require shorter metal free zones than our competition.

Quality Control: All Bunting Metal Detectors have recording and reporting functions within the software, satisfying the requirements of HACCP, IFS, BRC, SQF and ISO. Optional features allow your organization to network detectors for remote monitoring, reporting or control.

Single Plate Magnet and Dual Plate Magnet Liquid Traps effectively remove ferrous particles from viscous and fibrous liquids and liquids containing larger suspended solids. These traps are designed to direct contaminants against a magnetic plate and into a deep magnetic field where they are captured and protected from the wiping action of the liquid flow. A deflector creates gradual change in the direction of flow to agitate the product and expose contaminants that would otherwise be blocked by suspended solids. n

Mattop Belted Conveyors Designed for specific applications where mattop belts are desired over a fabric belted conveyor. Mattop belt makes it easier to slide parts across the belt and are better for accumulation applications. Ideal for wash-down applications. n

These conveyors can be horizontal, inclined or Z-shaped

They can be anywhere from 4” to 60” wide and from 2’ to
