I am driven by the exploration of the visual elements: color, form and space. I give my attention to the opposites of the organic versus the geometric and seek to develop a minimal image. Compositions include transformations, permanence, and unexpected elements. – Ellen Richman

Chris Larson I Wish I Felt This Way At Home – Dolly Parton (1975), 2019 LP cover with vinyl record - mounted to custom beveled wood frame 12.25 x 12.25 inches $1,500
Depression Groove (2019), Chris Larson’s newest series, reflects its own nominal description but also refers to the biographies of the musicians and performers, each of whom were born out of the Great Depression and looked to the music industry to emerge from poverty. Exuding both hope and longing, the repeated spinning of vinyl on a disc jockey’s turntable becomes a literal translation of exactly what these musicians were searching for: repeated airplay and the hope of a new future.

Clarence Morgan Nothing is Apparent, 2019 graphite, acrylic ink, pen, watercolor crayon on paper 22 x 30 inches framed $4,000
I am interested in an approach to art making that explores the often-conflicted relationship between the decorative traditions in geometric patterns found in other cultures and western modernism. However, the recent paintings, prints and collage-drawings avoid culturally specific subject matter in favor of a more elusive pictorial terrain of contemporary abstraction. Inasmuch, my work attempts to reflect a broader generational curiosity where the familiar and unfamiliar converge. – Clarence Morgan
