STYLE TIPS BY ERIN BUSBEE
There are some definite keys to looking more stylish. I'm going to walk you through some simple steps that you can follow to elevate your style. Before I begin, it's important to understand that there are NO rules. You have to wear what makes you happy and most confident. My job is to provide you with the information, and then you can decide if the tips make sense for you... and your style. BUSBEE STYLE | PAGE 02
For example, you don't feel great in skinny jeans... choose cropped, bootcut or flared jeans instead. The great thing about fashion right now is truly everything goes. The rules are out the window and you can be free to be YOU. For those that want a roadmap, I am hoping this lookbook will help!
#1 MIX STYLES EDGY ELEGANCE
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX I always think about mixing styles. I typically wear contrasting styles in one look. For example, in the photo above, I'm wearing a feminine, floral maxi dress paired with an edgy moto jacket. The moto jacket adds some structure and masculinity to the look creating a pretty, street-chic outfit!
CONSIDER THIS... If you are wearing something overtly feminine like a tie-neck or ruffle blouse, floral print dress, skirt, etc. DO think about adding some edge. Create edge by adding leather, booties, modern jewelry or an unexpected, fashion-forward hair style.

You can also layer UNDER your dresses. In the look above, I am wearing a black chiffon bow-blouse under the floral print maxi. It gives me more coverage and adds warmth. Not to mention, it creates a chic, stylish look!

#2 ADD 3RD LAYER CARDIGAN, JACKET OR BLAZER To add instant style to ANY look, add a 3rd layer.
In the look above, I added a sleeveless jacket
A 3rd layer can be a cardigan, sleeveless jacket,

vest, moto jacket, blazer, trench, etc. The 3rd

Behold the power of dark wash, high-rise skinny jeans!! I clearly look much slimmer (and taller) on the right!

#3 VOLUME PROPORTION MORE CONTRAST!
When you wear a voluminous piece, like an over-sized sweater, think about pairing it with something more fitted and streamlined like a pencil skirt or skinny jeans.

#4 MONOCHROMATIC LOOKS ALL ONE COLOR DO WEAR ONE COLOR There is a reason, stylists and style experts have been singing the praises of the monochromatic look for years... because it works! Not only is wearing all one color slimming, it also adds instant sophistication to your look! Your monochromatic look does not have to be all black. As you can see above and to the right, I like to wear all white, all yellow. I've created an all red look before. Be sure to mix things up!
TONES & TEXTURES It's also important to note that you do NOT have to wear the same exact color tones. Miing your white tones, for example, can actually add interest and depth to your look!

HATS BUSBEE STYLE • 16
e l p m Si Tips
#6 WEAR A HAT Not only will a hat instantly add style and interest to you look, it will also solve the bad hair day dilemma! You do NOT need to remove your hat anymore. You can eat in a restaurant or attend an event with you hat on.
For travel, I look for packable hats like the one I'm wearing above so they can easily get crushed in your suitcase without getting ruined. I have a couple of Panama style hats, and two straw, sun hats. I would recommend one in a neutral color.

#7 STATEMENT BAG A statement or structured bag can also elevate your look and make your outfit look much more luxe and expensive. When looking for an everyday bag, I would choose one that is structured, has minimal hardware and in a neutral color.
A neutral colored bag like this one above in off white, will go with everything in your closet. But, just because a bag is versatile, doesn't mean it can't add interest to your look. Understated, elegant bags can be just as impactful as bolder options.

SLEEVES

#8 PLAY AROUND WITH SLEEVES Use your sleeves to add stylish impact to your look. If you are wearing a blazer like I am above, cuff your sleeves so they peep out a little from the blazer. Think about creating a similar effect with chiffon, puffy sleeves. Roll the blazer sleeve up to exposre your interesting blouse or dress sleeves.
Also, remember you can wear a sleeveless jacket or vest. When choosing these 3rd layers, be strategic about your blouse selection since your sleeves will be a highlight. Maybe pick a top with puff shoulders, or blouson sleeves or an interesting cuff A printed top could look quite chic as well.

#9 KNOT or HALF TUCK You can always knot a tee to take in excess fabric or create a waist. You can knot a maxi skirt or dress to also take up some of the extra fabric while simultaneously creating a shorter hemline.
The half tuck is when you only tuck in a small portion of your top or blouse into your jeans or pants. I usually tuck in about a five-inch wide section in the front. It creates waist definition, while also creating an effortless quality to your look.

#10 DRAPED JACKET When you drape our jacket or blazer over your shoulders, it instantly makes you look more stylish, elegant and sophisticated. You might do this in a chilly restaurant or at an event where the AC is freezing you. The great part about the drape is... it won't compromise your look.
In addition to draping your jacket, other important styling tips are: tailoring your garments, taking great care of your clothing, standing up straight with your shoulders back and making sure your hair and makeup are clean and modern.
