The Texas A&M University Career Center is dedicated to serving students at every stage in their academic careers – Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students – as well as Former Students. We assist students in their searches for full-time employment, internships, externships, and cooperative education. As a part of our mission to assist Aggies in the career search process, our office provides the following services:

CAREER ADVISING: A service for those students who have questions about how to get started in the job search process or are unsure about which careers or jobs may be right for them. WORKSHOPS: Topics include Resume Writing, Networking and Job Search Strategies, Behavioral Interviewing, The Company Visit, Salary Negotiation, and more. We can also create workshops that cover topics you’ve requested. For additional information: HireAggies.com ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS: The Career Center coordinates more than 17,000 interviews each year for students seeking full-time, cooperative education, and internship positions. EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION: The Career Center works with employers, students, and departments to develop cooperative education, internship, and externship opportunities. WALK-IN ADVISING: Takes place in 209 Koldus between 8:30 and 11:00am or 1:30 and 4:00pm. Cover topics such as, career questions, resume review, salary evaluation, and more! HIREAGGIES.COM JOB LISTINGS: Job descriptions that are directly posted to the Career Center’s website by employers who seek to hire Aggies.
LEARN MORE ABOUT YOURSELF: Identify your accomplishments, values, goals, strengths, and weaknesses. Recognize the qualities and skills that employers will seek. Take career interest tests such as SIGI 3 and DISCOVER.
AGGIE-FOLIO: Showcase knowledge, skills, and achievements by creating an online portfolio. Collect, organize, and store information without having to build a web page.
UTILIZE YOUR CAREER RESOURCES: Seek career advising at the Career Center. Register for HireAggies. com to access job listings, employer profiles, and career information. Attend career-centered workshops and seminars. DEVELOP COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Take advantage of opportunities to gain experience writing reports and articles. Develop public speaking skills through student organizations. Participate in mock interviews and make use of Perfect Interview. DEVELOP LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORK SKILLS: Join professional organizations and student organizations. Take an active role in these groups. Lead extracurricular or volunteer activities. BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL NETWORK: Develop relationships with professors, former students, and classmates as well as career fair contacts and speakers at meetings. Keep a record of all contacts. ATTEND CAREER FAIRS: Introduce yourself to the recruiters as well as collect business cards and company literature. Use this opportunity to research companies and make contacts. GET JOB EXPERIENCE BEFORE YOU GRADUATE: Seek internships, externships, co-ops, and summer jobs. Experience related to your major is almost a guarantee of early success. PREPARE FOR THE JOB SEARCH NOW: Write your resume and update it each semester. Assemble a list of references. Utilize the resources available through the Career Center. CAREERSEARCH: A database that includes over four million potential employers with contact names, addresses, phone numbers, and a variety of company background information. GOING GLOBAL: Explore opportunities for jobs and internships in countries around the world. Includes Country Career Guides compiled from research on visa regulations, cultural advice, embassy listings, etc. JOBWEB: A website of career development and job-search information for college students and recent graduates, sponsored by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). PERFECT INTERVIEW: Participate in virtual practice interviews on this system that includes over 1,500 interview questions, answers, and an interview tutorial. SIGI 3: An online tool that integrates self-assessment with in-depth occupational information. VAULT: An online Career Library consisting of guides to various employers, industry overviews, employer profiles, and salary information.
