BLACK HISTORY 10
EDUCATION C EMPOWERMENT BLACK BRILLIANCE
onsidering the International Decade for People of African Decent as declared by the United Nations, combined with the national social, cultural, and racialized awakening, societies are more open to learning and addressing discriminatory practices, of the status quo. Accordingly, on the heels of another successful national conference, with over 1,600 attendees, 60 speakers, and 10 panels, the Canadian Congress is positioned to educate and address many community challenges; and launch a Black History program to align with February’s Black History Month. While the Congress may focus on Black issues every day this is not so, for much of society. As a result, our month-long series will seek to educate and share knowledge and strategies to address many of the challenges faced in the Black community; as well as celebrate past / current notable national leaders.
