We recognize and honour the tremendous contribution of Blacks in Canada and United States. Black History Month is not only in February, but it is today and in every day of our lives and heritage. The Chinese New Year festival celebrates the beginning of the new year in the traditional Chinese (or lunisolar) calendar. This year, on Tuesday February 1st we celebrate the Year of the Tiger. Groundhog Day is celebrated every year on February 2, and in 2022, it falls on Wednesday. Valentine’s Day is celebrated every February 14 as couples across the globe; express their love to their spouses, partners and friends, in a loving way either by giving chocolate, wine, flowers, dinner and more. Every year the preparation for this Valentine’s season becomes more innovative and more romantic. Family Day on February 21st is a provincial statutory holiday observed by all Canadians; intended for everyone to have a long weekend doing special things with the family.
