ompressor Engineering Corporation -CECO -- is the largest independent manufacturer of reciprocating compressor and engine replacement parts in the world. Since 1964, CECO has been delivering superior products and services to the gas transmission, midstream, petrochemical and air compression industries. In addition to compressor and engine parts and repair, CECO also specializes in training and technical services, mechanical field services, emissions testing and CECO Pipeline Services. Texas, CECO has been a familyowned business for 50 years. CECO was born when its founder, Ernest Hotze, discovered a critical problem in the industry stemming from the limited availability and low quality of aftermarket compressor replacement parts. From there CECO went on to fill the gap, with quality parts and services, and it continues to develop innovative products and exceptional turnkey services. Today, CECO continues to lead the industry with engineering solutions, design improvements, superior materials, and state-of-theart equipment. Company Services CECO’s primary business focus is providing compressor replacement parts, compressor valves, engine parts, unloading equipment, polymer products, repair services and emission solutions. CECO’s new rMAX® valve for highspeed compressors, durMAX® actuators and deactivators and LEP® low-emissions packing are standards for compressor efficiency. CECO also places a big emphasis on pipeline services. CECO Pipeline Services provides quality natural gas and liquid pipeline construction, maintenance services (including coating repair),
fabrication, and above-ground industrial painting. “For 50 years, CECO has been a quality name in compressor replacement parts. Now our CECO Pipeline Services business has really taken off,” says David Sebree, Vice President and General Manager of CECO Pipeline. “We provide new construction, pipeline integrity work, fabrication, coating applications, corrosion remediation, erosion control, mechanical services, compliance work and above-ground painting. We are a full-service shop for our customers.” Other divisions of CECO include
Mechanical Field Services, Training and Technical Services, and Emissions Testing Services. CECO’s mechanical field services group delivers turnkey repair, analysis and replacement parts for reciprocating compressors in the natural gas industry. CECO’s mechanical field crews work closely with CECO’s Precision Repair facilities located in Walker, La., and Houston and Odessa, Texas, to provide quality repair to compressors and parts during overhauls. packing cases, pistons and other components. CECO’s emissions testing services offers specialized stack testing/air emissions testing on reciprocating engines, turbines and generators. The CECO training and technical services division provides well-organized training courses with in-depth learning. Both in-the-classroom and hands-on experiences are offered. CECO’s compressor and engine training offers course workbooks and an online training center to provide simple solutions to the industry’s training needs. Along with offering a variety of products and services, CECO takes great pride in providing the highest-quality customer service to its customers. CECO values its customer relationships and works closely with customers to ensure support during the entire ordering process. secret this is dangerous work so we focus on zero accidents and zero incidents.� CECO actively works to train new associates in its safety procedures and provides continuous training to keep associates up-to-date with industry standards. In the field, CECO prides itself on hiring the best pipeline supervisors in the industry, committed to providing a safe work site for both its associates and customers, while protecting the public and the environment. CECO Pipeline Services also provides annual safety trainings and certifications for associates. 8
CECO has full-time dedicated safety professionals who train associates and audit work sites to make sure safety is a continual focus in the field. “From a safety standpoint, we try and make sure our people who work in the field are trained, certified and always watching out for the newer, younger associates,� says Sebree. In addition, CECO holds daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) meetings where associates are encouraged to bring forward safety suggestions. Operations going forward Since the inception of the company,
