The walls were originally built around 1890. One area the modern footprint was a mercantile store while the rest of the walls housed the King Opera House. through like George M Cohen, when he was part of the Five Cohens, Helen Keller. and John Boles. The opera house closed in 1920.

The modern configuration opened at the Texan Theater in 1934. Many of the opera house features are still present – from posters advertising the opera house shows to the stage itself. In 2010 the current owner, Barbara Horan, bought the theater and began a fouryear renovation, preserving what she could and bringing the movie house into the modern era by installing full production for bands as well as surround sound for modern movies.

Your stop in Greenville at the Texan Theater can accomplish many things. The Texan Lobby is a hometown coffee shop featuring Nespresso coffee. From shots to fancy blended drinks, you can get just about anything you can imagine. Light lunches are available.
