the most storied and scenic train trips in the eastern United States. Riding on restored vintage passenger cars, the travelers’ journeys start with the pull of a Wilmington & Western historic locomotive. The Wilmington & Western Railroad (WWRR) began in 1872 to move goods between mills along the Port of Wilmington and the Red Clay Creek. After becoming a tourist attraction in the 1960s, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This railroad was even honored by the Delaware State Legislature as “Delaware’s Operating Railroad Museum,” in 2007. WWRR is guaranteed to transport bus groups back to a time when steam-passenger trains rolled majestically through the land and train whistles echoed off the hills. Tour groups will experience the golden age of railroading as they cross spectacular bridges, wind through forests and narrow rock cuts and whistle past the historic homes of Red Clay Creek. There are two ride options: a 1.5-hour ride departing at 12:30 p.m. or a 2:30 p.m. ride lasting 2.5 hours. Duration times for each ride are roundtrip. Both have a 30minute layover. All seating is coach, and snacks and soft drinks are available for sale.

The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk Norwalk, Connecticut Safely touch a jellyfish, fall in love with adorable seals and stare down prowling eight-foot sharks during a fun adventure in The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. This regional attraction is unlike other aquariums, because it focuses on one body of water: the adjacent Long Island Sound. Still, based on traveler ratings on TripAdvisor, The Maritime Aquarium is highly ranked among other New England aquariums. Norwalk’s location in southwestern Connecticut makes The Maritime Aquarium a great destination for a day trip or a perfect stop while traveling between New York and Boston. The Aquarium is conveniently located minutes off Interstate 95 in the city’s historic, waterfront South Norwalk neighborhood. Commonly referred to as “SoNo,” the popular area offers a variety of acclaimed restaurants on and near the city harbor, all within easy walking distance from the Aquarium.
