In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we offer students an array of perspectives to help them think for themselves. You can explore rain forests in Panama or literature in Spain, present your research at national conferences, or intern with businesses, government, and non-profits in Indianapolis and Washington, DC. We help you take your knowledge beyond the classroom and into the world.
The Engineering Dual Degree Program (EDDP) is a partnership between Butler’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indianapolis. Through this unique five-year undergraduate program, you can earn two degrees: one in engineering from Purdue along with a Butler degree in one or more of these disciplines: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Economics, or our Science, Technology, and Society program. You’ll apply and enroll for the EDDP through Butler and live here throughout the program. Most engineering courses are taught at Butler for the first three years; during the last two years, you’ll take courses on both campuses (five miles apart).

The EDDP provides a diverse, creative, professional, technical, and liberal arts educational experience occurring through two quality, neighboring universities. What we offer: • Six Purdue engineering degree options—in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Biomedical, Energy, or Motorsports—and seven Butler degree options • Engineering degrees accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) • A program in which students regularly graduate with their two degrees in five years • At least one internship and diverse educational experiences leading to a wide range of career opportunities with a highly successful placement rate for graduates
