INTRODUCTION
Butterfly Dreamz Friends & Family,
Thank you for your continued support! It is hard to believe that July marked our 10-year anniversary as an organization! Three generations of Butterfly Dreamz leaders my mom, older sister, niece, and me came together to celebrate and reflect on the last 10 years. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch our conversation on the Butterfly Dreamz YouTube page.
Entering into our second decade, Butterfly Dreamz works at the intersection of health and education. We’re equipping girls to be confident leaders and providing a network of support to help them achieve their dreams. We know that when our girls are healthy and thriving, so too are their families, their schools, and their communities.
Thank you for journeying with us. If you have questions about this report, please feel free to email me at joy@butterflydreamz org

“This is my first summer after starting college, and it felt very refreshing and exciting to have the opportunity to participate in the [Cocoon Club] Arts and Culture Challenge. I learned how important it is to be intentional about how I spend my free time and the benefits of arts education.” —Danielle,
College Student“I want to take the time to say thank you for awarding me with the Butterfly Dreamz Write to Lead Scholarship. I am greatly appreciative of the Butterfly Dreamz organization, as well as the individuals who aided in making this scholarship available for students like myself. This award will assist with my matriculation at Howard University as I continue to develop personally and professionally. It was a pleasure to submit my writing to this application; it allowed me to reflect and express my interpretation of what a Shero embodies. This scholarship symbolizes the power of my education and is something I won't take for granted, again thank you!”
College Student“Since I’ve become a Butterfly Dreamz Intern in 2021, I’ve learned an extensive amount about myself, my community, and my history. This internship provided me a safe space to have conversations where I was able to expound upon my interests in social justice and woman empowerment. Butterfly Dreamz also allowed me to create an impact in my community through the Leadership Journal. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I hope Butterfly Dreamz continues to leave this impact on other girls.
