Our  simple  and  purpose  hand  made  products  are  designed  and  manufactured  in  our  studio  near  Melbourne. ButtonWorks  is  an  Australian  owned  and   operated  family  business,  registered  with  the  Australian  Made  campaign,  utilizing  the  skills  of  local  crafts  people  and  locally  sourced  materials  to  create  unique  and  interesting  gifts. FAQ’S Are our products safe to take overseas? Yes, the wood we use is processed and sealed. This makes them acceptable anywhere in the world. What timbers do we use? We use several species of sustainably harvested Australian timbers ie. Blackwood, Tasmanian Oak, Jarrah and Myrtle. Each order we pack will include a variety of these. Every effort is made to ensure the wood we use is from a reputable source where programs are in place to reduce impact on the environment. We use veneers and not solid timber to extend the use of the tree. Are our veneers safe? Yes. ButtonWorks is committed to using safe sustainable materials, so we only use suppliers and components that have reached ecologically sound and safe standards. The core of our ® Gold Green Rate Level A veneers is a ‘craft wood’ Green Tag FHUWL¿HG DQG PHHWV VWULFW VDIHW\ DQG TXDOLW\ VWDQGDUGV )RU PRUH information please do not hesitate to contact us. Are our products really made and designed in Australia? Yes. ButtonWorks is special because it is one of the few owned and operated as a family business. Our products are made in Australia, we design them and all our products are cut, assembled and packaged in our home studio on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne. We are committed to using Australian suppliers and where possible, source recycled and local materials. ButtonWorks is registered with Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign and is licenced to use the ‘Australian Made’ logo on our products. What happens if liquid is spilled on our products? All of our timbers have been sealed and varnished, which helps protect them from water marking or staining. We recommend an occasional application of a vegetable oil to help protect the timber. 33
