Any senior right now will honestly ask themselves how they could have possibly made it this far knowing how stressful high school can be. To finally come to this point in my life it feels amazing. Many seniors have their own way of making it to this place in time. I will give the reader my advice and thoughts on how to make the most of your life in high school. The first thing anyone will tell you to do in high school is to simply be involved. There are many ways to be involved with high school, the only problem with being involved is choosing the right activity or club for you. My advice for anyone who wants to be in a club or a sport is to give each club or sport a try. It doesn't matter if its FFA or Basketball, just tryout anything their possibly is and you possibly might like doing whatever it is you're doing to be involved with your school, trust me I'm telling you from experience. When it comes to assignments you either succeed or you fail. If you're like me, you have most likely mastered failure unfortunately. In reality is failure a bad thing? In certain cases failure is not so bad. Failing can be frustrating but when you fail at whatever you are doing you can easily learn from that failure and correct yourself and next thing you know you're passing that class you were just failing. Now success is a different story. Success is probably one of the most rewarding feeling there is, especially when you pull an all nighter on that composition you forgot to do last week

My Experience At My School

Everyone knows that one kid... who is always up to something, but never gets in trouble. Well that was me, Aiden Young, until I realized that I needed to change my attitude. It all started on a Monday, and everyone knows Monday is the worst day of the week. I woke up at 7:06 a.m. With only nine minutes to get dressed, brush my teeth, and eat breakfast. I had missed the bus, and today is the one day they both my mom and dad start work early. So they were not home to drive me, so I had to ride my bike to school. When I got to school, I had one minute tillthe bell rang. Of course that was not enough time to go to my locker that is on the first floor and make it to the third floor. As I guessed I was three minutes late. I tried to slip into the class going unnoticed. I do not know how but it worked, this may be because my last name is Young and I'm at the bottom of the roaster. I have algebra first, and as usual I talked most of the time. This is the teacher's mistake because she told us we could choose our seats, and I sat next to my best friend Michael in the back of the room. Unlike me Michael does well in school, and he is kind of nerdy. I asked him how his weekend was and he replied with, "I spent my whole weekend study for our Social Studies test." He seemed so annoyed with me, and I totally forgot to about that test. That is another subject I am going to fail. There was always one thing I wonder about and that was why I was ever even friends

My Time at Boarding School

At the beginning of year six, when I was ten, my mum brought up the subject of secondary school and I realised that, after that year, I would have to leave the school and people I had known for many years. I knew I would have to leave my friends, because they were all going to the local comprehensive school, and as my brother was at a private school, I would have to go to one too. I had a choice. I could go to Dauntsey's school, the same as my brother, but I would have had to wear the horrible brown uniform. Therefore, I went to Bruton School for Girls. A private Girl's school in Somerset. I did not particularly like that uniform, but if I was to go, I would be a boarder...show more content...

She asked me my name and pointed to a door opposite the door we were stood at and told me that I was going to live in there for the next year. I thanked her and carried on dragging my suitcase.

When we got in, I was so nervous. A small staircase that led up into a little room that looked out onto the downstairs impressed me. I chose a bed and wondered who would live in the two other beds up there. Everybody had a small, uncomfortable bed, a chest of draws, with three draws; the top drawer had a lock on, and a small narrow wardrobe. My mum unpacked all my stuff, while I watched the other four girls unpack. A Chinese girl was talking to a girl with bushy black hair, and there was a very pretty girl arguing with her mum and dad about her poster that had a cat hanging off a branch and a rude word written on it. The other girl seemed to know the girl with the rude poster because she kept talking to her every now and again. It was surprisingly noisy, so I could not hear their conversation.

After about an hour, my mum took me to see the housemistress. I walked down the corridor short corridor. Standing in front of me was a dumpy woman with white hair and purple tinted glasses. She was very nice to me and showed me into a nice small cosy room that had a sign on the door saying "Old

My Time at Boarding School Essay

The first day of school is nerve–wracking for most people, for me, the first day was especially terrifying. The first day of a college class is probably more crazy than all others. My mom and younger sister, Michaela, were busy taking pictures as I attempted to run out of the door. After being homeschooled for the last six years, I knew it would be a much different experience. I had been in my room alone doing school; I was content with where I was. The morning of the first day of class, I was so busy that I didn't have time to be nervous. However, as I ran out the door, my heart rate elevated to a pace of 138 bpm. I felt older, nervous, excited, and anxious as I left for Pellissippi. Although it had been six years since I had been in a classroom, I realized that all of my worry was for nothing once I walked into Ms. Brown's class. The summer after I completed the 6th grade, my parents decided to pull me out of my Baptist, private school and homeschool me. I, like most kids, was not thrilled with the decision, but being only 11 years old, I had no say in the matter. Despite my initial reservations, being homeschooled was a great experience for me, but I began to get bored. I missed seeing people every day. It was just me and my family. I was ready for a new experience, something big, and college was exactly what I was looking for. It was Sunday night, and there was a high probability that class would be cancelled. I prayed that that wouldn't happen, however, it did. The

My First Day Of School Essay

There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school years of my life, having nothing to care about, the school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was also beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the beginning of ourhigh school career, parents and teachers always tell us students that it's the best four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found high school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four years of my life will be filled with obstacles and challenges that I will face. I knew that I would have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such as feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going through different phases of our life. My freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I was immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun, outgoing and had decent memories whether they were good memories or bad memories. Towards the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and did not understand what it meant. As I

My High School Year Essay

We all know School is one of the biggest and most important parts of our lives, but is it really that important? We meet new people and learn what we what to do in life, the big question I have is "Does it actually do what we think". Everyday I walk home, it's a short walk, only around a mile, but afterwards I'm tired from both my walk and school. I'm always hoping I have no homework and no chores, but that's never the case for me. No matter how much homework I get I have at least 2 big chores that can take upwards of 40 minutes, and stacked with the hour to two hours homework I get, I feel stuck. All I ever think about is "What are my grades" and "Am I going to be able to talk with my friends". I can't explore my interests and my own...show more content...

They have the highest graduation rate and more people go to college and get PhDs and Doctorates. The reason for this is because of their student idea friendly system, they support their students and who they want to be. Teachers work harder for a much higher pay to help students, bullying is down and kids enjoy going to school more. In Sweden they have massive amounts of electives for the children to choose from and almost every single type of interest for a growing child. The US school system usually has little electives and in recent years have decreased them. At LRMS alone, 6 have been dropped in the past 7 years. I have so many friends that tell me that they don't know what they want to do with their life. Most people don't look at the school system as the problem, they just blame it on "Millennials being lazy and useless". Another commonplace to blame is the teacher's, people think that the reason the US school system is failing is because of teachers. The true and real reason the school system is being pointed at people that have perfect grades is the curriculum, homework, and higher ups that choose a lot of the ways teachers have to teach. A great example of a great teacher is Mrs Sullivan, she rarely gives homework and pushes her students in class instead of out of school. Sullivan does exactly what a teacher in Sweden does, and

My School Essay

First week of high school Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year. This one is different though, it's the first week of high school. Most freshmen like me that enter the school are scared. I think the first week of the school is the easiest since there would not be a lot of homework and what you need to do is to listen to what you need for the class and know other people well in the class. But I am wrong, as soon as you get seated on your assigned seat, new teachers start to introduce themselves and start giving tons...show more content...

I think the pronunciation of Spanish is different from English and I have difficulties of speaking Spanish properly. I also have an AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) class for my elective, AVID is acollege–readiness system designed to increase the number of students who enroll in four–year colleges. The AVID system is a district wide and school wide approach featuring: a college–preparatory elective course, rigorous curriculum, trained college tutors, and a site team composed of the AVID Coordinator, subject–area teachers, parents, and tutors. WICR – or writing, inquiry, collaboration, and reading– forms the basis of the AVID curriculum. It gives students the skills they need to succeed in college–preparatory classes, like Advanced Placement. I have Algebra 2 for my math class. Algebra is the branch of mathematics concerning the study of the of operations and the things which can be constructed from them including terms, polynomials, equations and structures. Algebra 2 is an extension of Algebra and Geometry and talks about deriving formulas from another. WE didn't do anything in our P.E. class in the first week, since we did not have our P.E. clothes so we had free time. In my biology class, I learned how to define life. An organism must have 7 properties of life to be alive, including cellular organization, reproduction, metabolism, homeostasis, heredity, responsiveness and growth and

My high school teacher, a lady, has inspired me to become a teacher. She demonstrated to me how caring, enthusiastic and accessible a teacher can be to students. She inspired me with her unlimited patience when interacting with students including myself. She would approach each student in her own way and gave every student their own privacy when it comes to getting assessment results. I respect her very much as she respected me and made my final year of high school very memorable.

Teaching is a good career choice because of the satisfaction you achieve when you teach or help a student in any way. I believe teaching is also the transmission of knowledge and information. Being a teacher means being compassionate, tolerant and responsible for their students, the community, and the society. A good teacher is influential and can impact others positively by being a role model/good example for them(young children). A good teacher definitely should have a strong dedication towards teaching and students' learning. A good teacher helps students overcome their fear, low–self esteem and struggle that they may face in school. A good teacher should also encourage students to discover their own interest and talent. It also important that a good teacher will teach and demonstrate to students the importance of honesty, good morals and values so that they know what to do and what not to do and what is wrong and what is right. This also helps by shaping their personal understanding of themselves and the world which will benefit them in their future. I am an attentive listener with unlimited patience. I can listen to students; questions, needs and worries. I am also a great observer meaning I can see and obverse if any student is facing problems or need an adult to talk to. I care about how others feel and it is why my friends tend to speak out to me about their struggles and concerns. I try my best to comfort them and also offer some advice to overcome their needs or to reduce their stress.
