Welcome to our 63rd Consecutive Sale

With 74 years in the Hereford business, we have seen a lot of change, survived many challenges and have accumulated a host of cherished customers and friends. We are actually conducting our 73rd annual sale this year, since some of the early years here at Tegtmeier, we organized two sales per year. Whether this is your first sale with us, or you’ve been coming since way back when, we want to say “Thank You” to all of our customers and friends for their support over the years.

Our breeding program here is aimed at producing Total Performance Cattle. We strive to breed cattle with moderate birth weights, that excel in growth and performance, and are highly maternal and fertile. We have made it our emphasis to produce cattle with strong carcass merit. On top of this, we strive to produce cattle with Eye Appeal, Sound Structure and Longevity. It is a challenge! But one we are willing to accept, instead of settling for less.

Most, if not all, of the cattle selling will have GE-EPD’s (Genetic Enhanced EPD’s). GE-EPD’s provide the latest technology available to genetically test an animal in order to obtain the highest accuracy possible in their EPD’s. We spent the money and time for the testing to give you, the buyers, the highest level of confidence in a bull’s or heifer’s ability to transmit their breeding performance. You will also notice many of the bulls designated with the Certified Hereford Beef Logo. This signifies that the bull is in the top 50% of the breed for producing feeder cattle that will excel in the economically relevant traits of gain, feed efficiency and carcass merit, when mated to Angus cows.

We hope you can be with us on Sale Day, however, if you cannot attend in person, we sure hope you will join us online, or feel free to stop by any time to view the cattle. As always, you are welcome to call if you have any questions. Live bidding is available on the internet with LiveAuctions.TV. You’ll find more details on the sales term page included in this catalog. And don’t forget to join us on Friday, Feb. 24th, to view the animals that will be sold. There will be food and beverages available. We look forward to seeing each of you.
