Every evening along L’Playa de Albir the arts and crafts market attracts many visitors to the area. Only during the summer months, until 1st September. Local crafts and artwork traders are found at the upper end of the sea front next to the tourist information office where you can purchase original jewellery, leather goods and souvenirs. Every Friday The market is for clothes and food such as fruit and vegetables and it is actually in Alfaz on the Albir/Alfaz road. From early morning until around 13:00 Saturday’s and Sunday’s 8am – 1.30pm El Cisne Market – Antique and everything market. Located on N332 next to Benisol camping. Sunday 8am – 1.30pm Albir Market located in the main town car park in Avinguda de I Albir offering a vast selection of food, clothes and local produce.

breeding of species. Mundomar, your animal park, is located next to the Aqualandia water park and has an extension of 60,000 square metres and landscape features which contribute to creating a park unlike any other. We put on different shows with parrots, sea lions and dolphins plus a variety of activities such as the feeding of sea lions, lemurs and penguins. The underwater viewing of sea lions and dolphins enables visitors to enjoy their interesting exhibitions and learn curious facts about our animals. Other animals we can observe in the park are flamingos, turtles and tortoises, swan, storks, sea lions, seals, otters, different species of lemurs, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, tropical birds such as toucans, ibis, parakeets, parrots, etc.

It covers an area of 150,000 square metres and has 50,000 square metres of free parking. Aqualandia also features spacious landscaped areas which have been planted with a variety of local vegetation. Other facilities and services available at the Park are its picnic areas, souvenir shop, photography, cash dispensers, locker hire, safe deposit boxes, hire of sunbeds and swimming floats. There are several self-service restaurants including a snack bar, barbecue, pizzeria, burger restaurant, various kiosks, ice-cream parlours, coffee shops, crêpe and kebab stalls.The park features a variety of pools, slides and children’s games which require millions of litres of water supplied by our own wells. It is filtered and recycled with modern water treatment systems. With our great range of water rides, splash pools and other attractions there’s something for everyone to enjoy a fun day out.

Paloma Valverde, Javier Aznar Flamenco Choreography. As principal dancers, Javier and Paloma have appeared in all the important places in Spain and their talents have been seen on stages throughout Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, Japan, China and Morocco. At present, presents the Battle of the Dance in Anaheim California, as dancers and choreographers. Javier and Paloma are very happy to renew his working relationship with David Moore and join the creative team of the new production to the Benidorm Palace. They are no strangers to Benidorm Palace, as Javier and Paloma appeared as principal dancers and created choreography for several flamenco shows in the famous ballroom.

October 21, 22 & 23 2011 The Benidorm Gay Business Association is proud to announce that Benidorm is the latest City to join the multitude of other top gay destinations to host a pride event. Pride on the Beach Benidorm is also the first destination in the world to host a gay and lesbian pride on the beach. Playa Mal Pais is the perfect central location to host such a memorable event, situated just below the Old Town and a stone throw away from the bustling gay village. The Old Town is the buzzing epicenter of the city and is home to an abundance of gay and gay friendly bars, cafes, restaurants and hotels and is humbled to be able to host the first Benidorm Pride Event. Benidorm Pride will take place in a number of venues through Benidorm. Most events will be in the Old Town which forms the centre of the gay scene in the city. As the only Pride on a Beach, the main stage is on the Playa Mal Pais which is situated between the Levante on Poniente Beach and is a perfect venue for the main events. Entrance to this area will be by a donation 2€ or with the pride wristband. Please note wristband entry will take priority for the main stage area on the beach. Close to the Main stage there is the Women´s and Children´s area where there will be a number of family orientated activities. This can be found a Parc Elche which is often referred to as Dove Park by the local ex pats. There are three satellite stages where shows will start after the main stage ends at 10pm. One stage is situated in Constitution Square in front of the Queens Hotel and the Tapas Bars, one in front of the Open Mind Restaurant and the other close to Klee Kafe and Rich Bitch. Entry to these areas is free but be prepared for people to approach you with donation buckets. All the bars in the old town will be open up to 6am on every night of the Pride with a voluntary contribution of 1€ or wristband to enter after 2am. Two ticketed events on Saturday and Sunday evening, are being held on the top road in Space Gay Disco and Mansion. Tickets and wrist bands for events will be available from bars in the old town and via the website shortly. Register on the website to be informed when these are available.

Angie has featured on tracks from Fatboy Slim to The Wah Brothers. I’m Gonna Get You in 1992 reached 3 in the UK, Angie’s vocals where featured throughout the track and the following year featured on Took My Love also with Bizarre Inc. Angie has been a backing singer for some huge names such as Grace Jones, The Rolling Stones and The Stereophonics.
Carol Jiani
Carol achieved success in the gay community in May 1981 with Hit N Run Lover which never lost it’s appeal within the gay community. During the 1990’s some of Carol’s best released came around again, and a lot of here music appeared on vinyl.

September is the month for indulging in some of our favourite comfort foods, something to get our taste buds tingling, you dont have to look far because both in Albir and Altea there are hundreds of good restaurants to choose from. The region offers a full range of restaurants and cuisine to suit almost everyone, we all have our favourite foods and a proven fact is that two of the most popular foods in the World are Italian & Indian cuisine. So here are some of my suggestions for you to try..... and don’t forget to use your VISTA Privilege Card! Lets start with the famous Mastroianni Ristorante Italiano – If you like Italian style and good food at a reasonable price, while being provided with excellent service, then Mastroianni Ristorante Italiano is the place for you. The Italian owner Ezio and his chef Valentino have recently opened this wonderful restaurant. For only 10€ plus IVA, you can enjoy a menu of the day with an excellent choice of dishes - 8 starters, 14 main courses and 3 desserts, including a bottle of wine between two people. The food is of a very good quality and the a la carte menu is also reasonably priced. So for the best Pizza and Pasta its a must visit! Sarita Indian Restaurant is highly recommended, book on line or call them before going to make sure they have a table. Being busy is a good sign of popularity built on a good reputation so you can be sure to get the best food and service at Sarita’s. This restaurant blends a mixture of modern oriental interior design, creating an environment with lots of vibrant colours and light. The authentic indian cuisine cooked by expert chefs and served by Englishspeaking waiters? You can also dine al fresco among the flowers underneath the wooden pergola. The a la carte menu includes over 16 types of curry dishes which can be made more or less spicy according to your personal taste. You are sure to enjoy the combination of flavours in these and many other delicious Indian dishes which are on offer.
