breeding of species. Mundomar, your animal park, is located next to the Aqualandia water park and has an extension of 60,000 square metres and landscape features which contribute to creating a park unlike any other. We put on different shows with parrots, sea lions and dolphins plus a variety of activities such as the feeding of sea lions, lemurs and penguins. The underwater viewing of sea lions and dolphins enables visitors to enjoy their interesting exhibitions and learn curious facts about our animals. Other animals we can observe in the park are flamingos, turtles and tortoises, swan, storks, sea lions, seals, otters, different species of lemurs, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, tropical birds such as toucans, ibis, parakeets, parrots, etc.

It covers an area of 150,000 square metres and has 50,000 square metres of free parking. Aqualandia also features spacious landscaped areas which have been planted with a variety of local vegetation. Other facilities and services available at the Park are its picnic areas, souvenir shop, photography, cash dispensers, locker hire, safe deposit boxes, hire of sunbeds and swimming floats. There are several self-service restaurants including a snack bar, barbecue, pizzeria, burger restaurant, various kiosks, ice-cream parlours, coffee shops, crêpe and kebab stalls.The park features a variety of pools, slides and children’s games which require millions of litres of water supplied by our own wells. Food and wine tourism in the Region of Costa Blanca the Mediterranean flavour Food in the Region of Costa Blanca is devotion to the palate, traditional flavours and culinary innovation. A leading exponent of Mediterranean cuisine, Benidorm’s kitchens are characterised by a plethora of delicious healthy recipes, based on fresh fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables, such as artichokes from Benicarló, medlars from Callosa and oranges from Valencia. Paella and rice dishes are the most emblematic choices.Savour the delicious stews typical of inland areas and the flavours of the sea along the coastline. Give your palate a real treat by sampling exquisite local white, red and sweet wines with Denomination of Origin quality labels from Alicante, Utiel-Requena and Valencia. In Valencian gastronomy the role of wine is no less important than that of food, with regional wines increasing their quality substantially in recent years. White, red and sweet wines from the three denominations of origin that are officially recognised - Alicante, UtielRequena and Valencia-, added to those produced in the Beniarrés area, to the North of Alicante, and the wines of Castellón, that enjoy the Protected Geographical Indications Vino de la tierra de Castelló an indication that covers three wine-producing regions: Alto Palancia-Alto Mijares, Sant Mateu and Les Useres- Vilafamés, which go well together with the respective cuisines of the area. Using monastrell and tempranillo grapes, to which other varieties such as cabernet-sauvignon, merlot and syrah have been added, Alicante province manages to achieve very straightforward, fruity wines with medium bodies and outstanding tannin levels. There is a famous Alejandría muscatel wine, some very pleasing white wines, either dry or sweet, and fragrant fruity wines. Modern sweet muscatels from La Marina Alta are the pride of the district. Another quality Alicante wine is called Fondillón, a typical old maderised white wine with a high alcohol content, rich and red in its early stages but turning amber following barrel maturation, made from grapes drenched by the sun and held up on cane supports, some of which are also ideal as dessert grapes. In Utiel-Requena, where the red bobal grape thrives in the company of tempranillo and other improvers (cabernet-sauvignon and merlot), increasingly attractive reds and rosés are being obtained. The rosés are balanced and fresh, with an agreeable flavour, and the reds have medium full bodies, savoury and elegant with all the characteristics of the finest Spanish wines. Also noteworthy are the wines produced in the 66 municipalities in the Valencia denomination of origin, an area encompassing four sub-zones – Alto Turia, Clariano, Moscatel de Valencia and Valentino – with a Mediterranean climate enjoying variable sea influences, giving rise to highly-appreciated whites, rosés and reds exported throughout Europe. These quality wines enjoy increasing recognition, and combine well with recipes from the Land of Valencia. Visit some of these great Spanish restaurants for the true taste of Spain
