HELLO!

Well December is here and without any further delay I check the calendar and it is just over two weeks until Christmas. I hope you are well and not coughing and spluttering as I have been over the last week, the Benidorm Bark really has caught some of us out this year. The cold weather has taken its toll on many of us and unfortunately even the odd hot toddy didn’t help… The flu and colds that generally come about at this time of year seem to have been in abundance and in most cases only the doctor can help when the symptoms become too serious. So if you start to feel under the weather as they say, don’t hold out and suffer visit your local doctor or the team at the Albir Family Medical Centre and get a check-up as it maybe that you have a chest infection as I did, and need some antibiotics. We all want to be fit and healthy for Christmas so it’s best to take advice and the correct medication, if required. Christmas really hit home for me when I visited Levi’s Showboat last weekend the decorations were simply outstanding and it felt so warm and cosy. Seeing what was going on there for the under privileged children also hit home and made me think how unfortunate some families and children are. Christmas is a time for enjoyment, family and for many of us a time to relax but apart from this we should all try to do something for someone else who would really appreciate it. Please let me know if you know of anyone who is making the difference and doing things to help others we would love to hear about it. E-mail: marco@vistacostablanca.com In the Costa Blanca the average temperature for December is 12 degrees but with an average of 6 hours of sunshine each day, when you’re in the sun temperatures can be between 17-20 degrees so my advice is find a nice sunny terrace and sit and relax for a few hours with a nice hot cuppa. For business owners reading the Weekly Buzz please consider adding your business in the next edition absolutely FREE for the four weeks call me for further details on this amazing winter offer on 673 652 340 Our team at the Weekly Buzz are able to prove to you without any doubt that advertising works and that thousands of potential customers each week will see your products and services. The children had been invited to enjoy a superb Christmas lunch that was served up to them by, the owner Wayne and his staff at Levis Showboat and they all dressed up for the occasion. Wayne was dressed as an elf and Des was dressed as a Reindeer not forgetting the Showboats very own Santa Javi. The Christmas decorations were brilliant including a wonderful Christmas Tree, you could actually feel a sense of magic that had taken place to create such a spectacular setting. The thought and planning, together with the arrangements made were simply beyond words and you could not say enough about the supporters and people involved. All the children had a Santa hat to wear at the dinner table and there was also an envelope with a big surprise inside for each of them, 10€ note! Bearing in mind these children have probably never even seen a 10€ note so to have one of their own was truly an amazing gift. A fancy cupcake each for dessert followed by a bit of dancing and music to really get the party going, giving the kids a chance to enjoy the venue. Each child then got a big sack of presents from Santa and the happiness of each and every one filled the room. I would like to say that I was invited by Pam and

Anne who have been supporters and fund raisers of the charity for the last 15 years, working together with local businesses and working hard to help the children in the EMAUS care homes. There were no press announcements or invitations so I was very lucky to be allowed to make a report and only by the personal invitation of Pam and Anne. Sitting down to talk with Pam and Anne about the star of the show Wayne Levi, they described his outstanding generosity in making this a special day, it is a day that the children will truly remember, on behalf of all of the children Pam & Anne would like to say a massive thank you to Wayne and that's why we are telling everyone who reads this article. It is important to remember people like this, people who want to help make a difference to these poor children; they should be noticed because they are very special people. Wayne also sent a gift of 20€ for each woman in the domestic violence unit, as well as 18 turkeys sent between the homes together with 1,600€ to buy the vegetables for each home to cook with the turkeys. The guests of the day were Fancisco Nadal Ivaars - Founder of EMAUS together with Monsorat and Elizabeth.

Holiday Season at Benidorm Palace Benidorm Palace is one of if not the best nights out you can have in Benidorm and the Costa Blanca. With the intent, that it always achieves, to surprise its spectators each year, Benidorm Palace renews its show, following the same steps which make it succeed night after night since 1977 (the year in which it opened), changing their show, their dances, their costumes and stage scenes. Christmas Day and Boxing Day celebrations include two very special Gala Dinners as well as The Drifters and the Benidorm Palace show “Nostalgia”. Nostalgia begins with Prologue, a new interpretation of the typical Spanish dance in which the scene turns into a bullring, it continues with Zafiro, where the past merges with the present within the Spanish dance identity. This is it! Is a medley tribute to Michael Jackson that leads to Celtic Dreams demanded by the public; it continues with Arabesque, where peacock tones enhance the oriental beauty; Flamenco Jazz is the embodiment of the perfect passion and Finalísimo is a celebration of glamor and seduction to end this magical evening of entertainment

The Drifters are an extremely popular and long running act in Benidorm performing across town in top venues. Performed by four British singers this Soul and Motown act are guest stars at Benidorm Palace this holiday season. FORMER Sunday Express editor Brian Hitchen and his wife Nelli have been killed after being hit by a car in Altea The couple were run down while crossing the road near their holiday house in Altea, near Benidorm. Brian Hitchen, 77, was rushed immediately to Marina Baixa Hospital in VillaJoyosa, where he was put into a medically induced coma following emergency surgery on his leg and shoulder. Despite the treatment he died later on Monday. His wife Nelli Hitchen was killed at the scene. Hitchen, former editor of The Daily Star and Sunday Express, was widely respected across Fleet Street for his sharp news sense and warm personality. A spokeswoman for Northern and Shell, the Daily Express and Daily Star’s parent company, said, “Brian was taken to a hospital in a very grave condition and doctors were not able to save him. “Nelli very sadly died at the scene. Our thoughts are with their family at this time.” Brian became editor of the Daily Star from 1987 to 1994 during arguably its greatest-ever period, selling close to two million papers each day He was later installed as the editor of the Sunday Express for a year. CHRISTMAS AT YOUR DOORSTEP

buzz@vistacostablanca.com

Mark added: “There are so many food and drink products that help make up a proper British Christmas, so the most popular product varies from week to week." “Three products which are constantly battling it out for the top spot are: Walkers Mincemeat Pies, Nestle Quality Street Tub and Matthew Walker Christmas Pudding.”

Expats create British style Christmas around the world. Expats worldwide are choosing to stay at home this year and have their traditional British Christmas brought to them, according to: www.BritishCornerShop.co.uk. Businesses like British Corner Shop give expats the opportunity to shop online for their most loved Christmas products, and have them delivered to their door wherever they are in the world. Mark Callaghan, managing director of British Corner Shop says: “Every year Christmas gets busier and busier for us, as more expats discover they can enjoy a traditional British Christmas no matter where they live. “The feedback we get this time of year is amazing. Customers are always so excited to receive their order and it’s very rewarding for us to see how happy it makes people.” From a previous survey conducted by British Corner Shop, a cup of tea easily came top of the list of things expats miss the most, but at Christmas the top 10 is much closer.

VINCENT'S & CAMPUS CAMPUS Live and defrocked at the White Horse Monday Night 11pm Also Sunday night at The Plaza from 10pm

Many of you visiting Benidorm will be familiar with the Vincent's Group, now known as the VINCENT'S CENTRE comprising of The White Horse, The Plaza and The Triangle situated in Avenida Estocolmo near the Rincon End of Levante beach. Entertainment is the number one approach with the three pubs giving the customers night after night of top quality fun, making the experience one to remember. Something for everyone is the motto here and since 1965 Paco has certainly been achieving this year after year putting on top acts. So we went along to speak to Mr Robert Lewis who arrived in Benidorm in 1996, originally from Great Yarmouth Robert studied beauty and make up and also performing arts. After many years of studying he decided to apply his skills in a different way with a keen eye for fashion and design, this meant that he was able to work on his best creation to date and along with an incredible voice together with a fun loving sense of humour CAMPUS was born. CAMPUS joined the Vincent's Group in 1996 and has remained as a headline act ever since. To see his show is a must and it´s for the whole

family, he will openly admit his dislike of children but he will have them laughing all through his show making them feel part of it too. His voice has been lent to many of the classics singing songs from Les Miserables to Postman Pat, songs from any era can be applied to any show that sometimes require audience participation meaning that just about anything can happen and normally does… CAMPUS can be seen every week at the White Horse in his defrocked show and also in the Plaza where he will wow you with makeup, wigs and outrageous dresses but one thing is guaranteed, with or without the makeup and dresses you will be won over by his quick humour and outstanding vocals. The character CAMPUS has grown over the years and his fan base has grown with people returning every year to see his show over and over again. It’s fun to see him or her in action when he/she takes to the stage you can't help but laugh for the whole 45 minutes, after all with 17 years’ experience he must be doing something right!!

Javea

Javea is in the Costa Blanca region in Alicante, Spain. The town has three main areas namely Javea old town, Javea port, & the beach area. The old town has not changed much and is a maze of narrow winding streets with homes that have wrought iron balconies and windows in gothic style. There are many ancient churchs and other structures. The harbor and fishing port has numerous restaurants and bars overlooking the sea. The Arenal beach area is the main commercial and recreation centre of the town. Get in Javea is also known by its Valenciano name: Xabia Valencia airport is 100 km to the north. Alicante is found 100 km to the south, and Murcia a bit further. Several companies offer transportation from both nearby international airports, there is a train station connecting to Valencia and Benidorm in nearby Gata De Gorgos. Get around For most locations in Javea a car is essential. If arriving at Valencia or Alicante airport there are several car rental companies readily available. If booking a car rental locally in Javea it is generally advised to do so in advance of your journey as they tend to sell out during the busy summer season. Rent a car and walking. ARENAL BEACH Located in the centre of the Xàbia Bay, the Beach: Playa del Arenal is the town’s main tourist centre and undoubtedly the most well-known and popular beach visited by bathers due to its fine sand and shallow water. Acclaimed for its extensive leisure and gastronomy offer, this town district has undergone major growth in recent years. In its northern end, there was a major Roman settlement, where the Parador de Turismo de Xàbia is now located. Along the promenade, there is an entertainment-shopping complex which is the zone’s major focus of activity during the entire year which is especially popular during the Summer season. The Summer nights at the Arenal Beach are extraordinarily lively and festive because it is the traditional recreational area where young people

12

meet in its select pubs and leisure establishments. This district is clearly Xàbia’s most Cosmopolitan zone, its major leisure and local cuisine facilities make it an essential place to visit and the temptation to return here will be irresistible. What to Do - Visit weekly open air markets - Go visit the Fuentes del Algar Waterfalls - Go visit the caves near Benidoleig or Canalobre - Go swim, sun and surf at the Arenal Beach - Rent a sailboat, sailboard or jet ski - Take the ferry boats to Denia or Altea - Take a hike to the top of Montgo - Go parasailing - Go skin or scuba diving in the sea - Watch the commercial fishing boats come in - Visit the Denia castle and museum - Take a walk at the arenal - Go visit one of the Safari Parks - Aitana or Vergel - Visit all the view spots of Miradors - Go to the Rastro - Antique markets - Take a ride up to the castle in Guadelest - Go visit Alicante - Take a ride on the Lemon Express - Have a coffee and brandy on the seafront - Pick some books up at the used bookstore - Pollys - Take a walk down the tree lined street in Denia - Visit the Solar Blasco museum in the Town - Go to a Bodega and find an old bottle of wine - Visit the fishermans church in Javea Port. SHOPPING The unique layout of Xàbia means that its shopping areas are laid out between three city centres: Xàbia Historical City Centre, Duanes and Arenal. In the Xàbia Historical City Centre, there is a wide range of shops. There are traditional family-owned businesses along C/Mayor and the outskirts of the Town Council as well as boutiques, shoe shops and interior design shops in Av. Príncipe de Asturias. Various Shopping Nights are held throughout the year and offer major discounts and entertaining activities. This historical district contains the Abastos Municipal Market where you can purchase typical premium quality products from Xàbia. In addition to the large number of Tapas bars, pubs

and taverns, it is also the city’s administrative and financial centre. You may obtain additional information or directly carry out your purchases by means of the web page: Xàbia Histórica. In addition every Thursday between approx. 08:30 and 14:00, a weekly Street Market or “Mercadillo” is held in Plaza de la Constitución and Placeta del Convent. Duanes de la Mar also has an extensive range of shops concentrated in Av. Jaime I, C/ Cristo del Mar and the outskirts of the church. This city centre contains the Fishing and Yacht Port and the Fish Market called the “Lonja de Pescado” with the traditional auction which takes place from Monday to Friday at around 17:00. Starting from 18:00, you may buy fresh fish and seafood from the local bay in the sales office which the Fishermen’s Association has inside this Market. Its great fishing tradition means that it is full of restaurants and bars with traditional seafood “tapas”. In the beach, Playa del Arenal, you may find major shopping opportunities all year round. In addition to clothing boutiques and shoe shops, you can find diverse businesses ranging from souvenir and gift shops, costume jewellery and Summer fashion shops. In the Summer, the promenade is full of handicraft stands starting from 19:00. The opening timetables of Xàbia vary according to the season and are approximately as follows: from 09:30 to 13:30 and from 16:00 or 16:30 to 20:00 or 20:30. There also numerous supermarkets and shopping centres in the city centres and the main access roads to the towns or housing estates. The majority of them are open on holidays during July, August and September. The Shopkeepers Association organize different events throughout the year such as the Handicrafts Fair in Holy Week, Christmas Markets, and the Moors and Christian Fair in July as well as the Sea Festival with the sale-purchase of boats and seminew nautical items. In the web site: www.portaldelcomerciante.com you will find additional information about these activities as well as a business guide.

Carpe Diem

Happy 5th Anniversary to Nicole and team

On 22 November Nicole and her son Kas together with the kitchen team Wilam and Luis, celebrated their 5th year anniversary at Carpe Diem Restaurant in Albir. I went along with family and friends to enjoy a perfect Sunday lunch and was even more surprised to find out that Carpe Diem still offers the amazing Menu at only 11.95€ including a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. This fantastic menu is available every day including evenings and is extremely good value, in fact I would be surprised to find anything anywhere that could come close for quality and value for money. A superb choice of 6 starters and mains together with a drink followed by coffee or dessert, really makes going out well worth it because you couldn´t shop and cook at home for less! The restaurant is stylish and comfortable with seating available in the glass panelled and covered front terrace, or in their beautiful inside seating area. The heaters were on, it was cosy, warm and what I think is always a great start to any meal is being comfortable. Greeted by Nicole the perfect host we read the menu and together a selection of starters and mains were ordered. I had decided for a classic prawn cocktail and I can honestly say how impressed I was with the amount of fresh cleaned prawns that filled the tall glass with crispy lettuce. My partner had another classic starter of Pâté with toast and

once again the portion size was amazing and if you wanted to complain then it would have to of been for having too much!! The mains arrived and between us there was Steak, Pork Fillet Satay, Autumn Lasagne and I had chosen the Schnitzel. The quality of the produce and the presentation was exceptional; the steak was thick and chunky cooked medium just as ordered. It certainly looked like fillet steak although the menu just said “Steak”. I tasted the Pork Fillet Satay and it was soft and tender with a rich peanut sauce. I had the Schnitzel it was moist and tasty I had ordered a peppercorn sauce to go with it and together with the chips I was extremely happy. We all followed our mains with Apple cake and coffee and all agreed that we had had the best Sunday lunch money could buy! 11.95€ Menu Starters Soup of the day Russian Salad Pâté with toast Chicken Curry Salad Prawn Cocktail

We all eat off the set menu for €10 which included a starter, main & desert and 1/2 bottle of wine I mean come on where would you fine quality food for that price??! The food was great and the atmosphere happy and eccentric which added to the Italian charm. It was that good me and my partner returned the following evening. Please note it gets busy quickly however the staff are that good they always accommodate where possible. Best Italian I had out there try it you won’t be disappointed!

Reviewed 16 November 2013 On arrival the restaurant was almost full. We got the last available table. The waiter did advise us that there might be some wait. We weren’t in a hurry. We ordered, got our drinks and our starter’s arrived within a few minutes. Puppodoms with assorted chutneys. The best onion bajis and meat samosas we have ever tasted. Main course arrived soon after but they gave us chicken instead of lamb but this was politely and speedily rectified. Accompanied with the best peshwari nan, and mango lassi I have tasted. This was truly the best indian meal we have ever had. Certainly recommend to anyone who loves a great curry. Overall 10 out of 10. We’ll be back.

“Still as good as ever”

“Excellent Food and Service”

Reviewed 3 October 2013 Still one of our favourite restaurants in Albir. The food is consistently good, the staff are consistently friendly and the whole place has a brilliant atmosphere. The fixed price menu is fantastic value at about 10 or 12 euros (I think!) but even the a la carte won’t break the bank. We shall certainly carry on using this on a regular basis. BOOKING is essential - it is a very busy place.

“Bellisimo!”

Reviewed October 2, 2013 Fab, tasty freshly cooked food. Pizzas thin n crispy with plenty of topping and pastas al dente and such a wide selection. They do a fab menu of the day 3 courses for around 11 euros. You can’t find a better value for money Italian restaurant in or around Albir.

Reviewed 15 November 2013 We went to the Clay Oven to celebrate my son’s 21st Birthday on 26th October, there was 14 of us dining and we found the service and value for money both excellent but the food, whilst being flavoured slightly differently to restaurants at home was fantastic. We would return and recommend to anyone who enjoys good food served by pleasant staff.

“Disabled”

“Fantastic!!!!!”

Reviewed 2 December 2013 NEW We stayed in Benidorm for 11 nights all inclusive, myself my partner and our 2 teenaged children, we like to try different places to eat. But once we ate here this is where we kept coming back to, fantastic food and very friendly staff. also the food and drinks are very reasonably priced, we will be spending a lot of time here again next July cant wait!!!

“Lovely food”

Reviewed 17 November 2013 Had lunch here a few times, food was really nice and was hot! Which is always a plus. Minus stars was due to the fact that the girls on the staff looked like someone had just died, not very friendly at all, we also had to seek them out to get the bill as it didn’t look like they were ever going to come and collect the dishes.

“great breakfast”

Reviewed 10 October 2013 visited again October, great place for a proper breakfast with English bacon, warburtons bread etc. Prices are very good as is the food. Staff very polite and helpful. Café very clean and well kept.

“Great British Food”

Reviewed 8 October 2013 Service friendly and prompt, food to a good standard and prices very reasonable, burgers are very tasty.

“Really good value”

Reviewed September 15, 2013 Good decent home cooked food. Service was really fast. Had the peppered steak, perfectly cooked to medium for me. Really good value. Can’t remember what it cost but it wasn’t expensive.

ALFAZ FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE There was an abundance of goals and some shock results this Week in the 1 Monday Night game and full Premier League programme which provided for the Fantasy 33 goals,7 clean sheets,35 yellow cards and for the 3rd time this Season the Referees kept their Red cards in their pockets. Kim's Team Ginger United held on to the top of the Fantasy League for the 4th Week on the trot. They have a 33 point advantage over Eric's Gluepot Mahou Men.Lee's Little Hulton Albion are in 3rd place 6 points ahead of Terry's Team Come on my Cockers. This Season's Fantasy League is shaping up to being the most open and exciting for Years with only 56 points seperating the the Top Ten. Rachel & Kim's Team El.Nui Baddies have been stuck at the bottom since the start of the Season and they like it there. Not even the high scoring Luis Suarez can get them off the bottom. No major changes in our Junior League where Abby's Brigade are keeping ahead of Rocky's Mini Spurs even though they both had a low scoring Week which helped Boshie's Beasts close the gap on the leaders. Down at the foot of the Table Ben's Boys are now 65 points behind Jack's Bubble Jack 8 F.C. The top scoring Ladies Team this Week is Danielle's Charlie's Chico's who scored 42 points which means for the 2nd Week running she has a stake on our Cellar Bar Cert Tip selected by Ian Charman who last Week earned Danielle some extra pocket Money with a Winner. She will be hoping for same again Ian!Ginger United are still top of our Mark Carter Ladies Section with a massive

74 advantage over 2nd placed Angies Blues. Mick's Team Celtic Rovers had the top score this Week with 54 points his top Marksmen were 2 Irish Lads West Brom's Shane Long & Everton's Seamus Coleman who between them scored 28 of them. The lowest scoring Team was Danny's Sarita's who only scored a minus 4. Both Teams go into our Premier Imports Draw at the end of the Month where a Case of sparkling wine awaits the Winner. Abby's Brigade have been top of our Golden Boot League which is sponsored by Leonard Knowles Construction for the last 5 Weeks. Their lead at the top is 49 points over 2 Teams Jimmy's Team Simple and Eric's Gluepot Mahou Men. Joanna's Capitol Palace are still rooted at the bottom of this Section. Manager of the Month for November is being kindly sponsored by Suni at the Hotel Moli in Alfaz and this Month's lucky Winner is Danielle whose Team Charlie's Chico 's came from nowhere to snatch the Prize from Kim's Ginger United by 4 points. Rafters super Breakfast for 2 sponsored by Kate this week goes to John's Dodgy Dribblers who climbed up 60 places to No 81. At the time of going to Press I have not had time to collate all the scores in our K.O.Cup Competition but I'm sure by the time you read this all the points and Results will be up on our website which is www.alfazffl. com or if you can't access a computer you can always pop into one of our Bars which display all the Tables and results on their Notice Boards in Moraira Tich's Bar in Albir The Local and Hepburns, and Alfaz the El.Nui.

Issue 11 / 5- 11 December

It’s all you need for a great read.

Your weekly Horoscope ARIES

Your interest in cultural activities powers up early in the week, so see if you can scout out a new gallery or find a concert that sounds appealing - you’re always looking out for new stuff! The bulk of the week is taken up with hard work - but it’s stuff you’re confident you can do, and you should be able to take care of it all, no matter how hopeless it seems at first. Spend the weekend with people who agree with you on the big issues - you don’t have the time or patience for major arguments!

CANCER

You have a slightly harder time fitting into your social life than usual today, though that doesn’t mean you should just cloister yourself away! Try to just apply yourself as well as you can on Monday and Tuesday, though you can feel a blockage in energy that you know is short-lived. You need to deal with the conflict between your inner live and outer life midweek, and should find an easy out that is lasting. Your emotional side causes problems this weekend, but only for those among your friends and family who are more aloof or reserved.

LIBRA

Your brainy energy is the perfect antidote to any bad mood your friends are having early this week - share your quirky ideas with them and watch their faces light up! It’s also a good time to apply yourself to real-life problems. Your nostalgia takes a slightly darker turn through Friday, and you may want to focus on the present to avoid thinking too much about the past. Life gets a lot sweeter this weekend, as nearly everyone in your social circle seems willing to get along well for the sake of the group as a whole.

CAPRICORN

It’s vital that you keep yourself on track on Monday and Tuesday there are distractions aplenty, and if you don’t maintain some semblance of discipline, you can expect to have to make up for lost time later on. If you pull it off, you should get recognition right away, and your good energy lasts through the end of the week. You can accomplish even more than you had hoped! The weekend might get a bit tricky, though, thanks to unexpected circumstances that interfere with even the best-laid plans.

TAURUS

Your easy charm works magic on people on Monday and Tuesday especially those who are visiting your home, city or country for the first time. Show them how sweet your people can be! A spiritual person shows you what’s what midweek, and while you may be dubious at first, you can sense that they have a real connection with you on a deep level, so keep listening (but don’t do anything crazy). You’re irritated by someone who keeps pushing your buttons this weekend - most likely a family member or someone younger than you.

LEO

You begin the week feeling fantastic and ready to explore your surroundings, especially if there’s something new about them. Travel and change are far more exciting than usual for you! You may feel obligated to help someone on Wednesday, and if so, expect it to stretch out far longer than you had anticipated. Still, you do earn far more karma points than usual. The weekend is a good time to let go of something or someone you have been holding onto too tightly - you are amazed at how easy it is!

SCORPIO

Big ideas are having a greater influence on you than usual on Monday and Tuesday - even stuff that seems totally unrelated to your recent obsession goes through the filter, with interesting results. Your social energy is almost perfectly harmonious in the middle of the week, and you enjoy most of the time you spend with friends and family to an unprecedented degree. Things do get weird this weekend, thanks to some recent changes and the resulting resistance - outbursts are the norm for a bit longer.

AQUARIUS

It’s your job to marshal the forces and get them moving on Monday and Tuesday, even if you don’t feel all that organized yourself! Sweet if you can get your friends or family to pitch in. Discipline is the keyword for the middle part of the week, as you end up spinning your wheels, getting nowhere if you can’t force yourself to stick with the program. Trick yourself into following orders! You need to get yourself focused on something bigger than yourself this weekend, and it’s easy and fun to do so!

GEMINI

Your closest personal relationships get very interesting this week. You should find yourself focused on one person early on, though you may want to reach out to others in your life if you have the time. From Wednesday through Friday, you may chafe under the authority of someone who used to be an equal, which could leave you thinking twice about your commitment to them. If you have your doubts, expect someone new and exciting to pop into your life this weekend, which should make the transition even likelier if it’s what you really want.

VIRGO

You’re the responsible one as the week begins, keeping yourself focused and on track even as your friends and family seem obsessed with spring fever. Just keep hammering away at your work and you’ll have more time later. Wednesday through Friday open you up creatively, and it’s easier than ever for you to express yourself in new ways. Someone really likes what they see or hear! Mix things up a little this weekend, if only to show your people that you don’t have to do everything in the same way all the time.

SAGITTARIUS

You’re full of surprises as the week begins, showing everyone why they love you so much with your jokes, gifts and games. Keep it up and see what happens next! Try to keep your wallet at home from Wednesday through Thursday and use other tricks to keep yourself from spending more than you can afford. Impulse buys are all too likely if you can’t restrain yourself. You make a solid impression on at least one person you meet this weekend, and that could lead from anything from romance to artistic collaboration.

PISCES

Don’t worry too much if things seem to be working against you early this week - you can rely on a little shot of luck just when you need it most! That doesn’t mean you can get away with slacking off, though. Your input is vital to help your co-workers or friends figure out a plan starting Wednesday, and you may have to assume a leadership role temporarily to ensure the right decision is made. Your brain feels like a hamster wheel this weekend, and you might just have to let it wear itself out so you can get some rest.

Dropping Like Flies – You´re Fired! In the last two weeks eight managers have lost their jobs. Brian Laws was first to go at Scunthorpe and he was quickly followed by Portsmouth boss Guy Whittingham, Richie Barker of Crawley and Bristol City's Sean O'Driscoll. There was a trio of sackings over the weekend Martin Jol (Fulham), David Flitcroft (Barnsley) and Dave Jones (Sheffield Wednesday) – and there was still room for another, they were joined by a fourth Owen Coyle (Wigan), who was shown the door after less than six months in the job. Sam Allardyce (West Ham) believes there is no coincidence in the timing of the dismissals as owners and chairman seek to breathe new life into their clubs he said: "It's sacking season at the moment. It never changes this time of year.” “If you're not doing so well then there is always someone who will think it's time for a change.”

Good Week One Man Show, Brilliant Bale

Bale’s protracted transfer saga might have given him a slow start out of the blocks, but he is flying now. The former Southampton youngster almost single-handedly downed Real Valladolid on Saturday with the perfect hat-trick, and he also assisted Real’s fourth goal.

2014 Fifa World Cup: England's hopes on venues England manager Roy Hodgson says where his squad are based is more important than who they will face in the World Cup. Roy Hodgson will find out when and where England's group matches will be played, when the draw takes place on Friday in Salvador, Brazil. Hodgson said he is keen to avoid playing in the Brazilian tropical northern cities of Manaus and Fortaleza and told national media: "We will go to Brazil believing that whatever group we get, we are capable of getting out of it. Unseeded England are certain to share a group with a seeded team and could play Brazil, Spain, Germany or Argentina. "I'm more concerned by the venues than by the teams we draw," said Hodgson. "You always hope the draw is going to be kind to you in terms of where you are going to be asked to play, but there are venues in Brazil that will be harder to play in than others." England have one fixture - a friendly against Denmark at Wembley on 5 March - before Hodgson must submit his provisional 30-man squad. You can watch the World Cup draw live on Sky Sports in Brazil live on Friday from 4pm.

bad week

Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado admits he is struggling to discover his goalscoring touch in the Premier League.

Spurs paid Valencia £26m for the Spain striker’s services over the summer but he has struck just three goals in open play in all competitions and Andre Villas-Boas’ side have been accused of looking toothless in attack. “I have been doing it all my career. I haven’t done so far here, but I am convinced I will get there.”

Steve Bruce hails Hull City's historic win over Liverpool

Hull City manager Steve Bruce believes the club's historic win over Liverpool gives his players 'a bit more belief' in their bid to stay in the top flight. It might have been another indifferent week for Hull City off the pitch last week, but on it they can have no complaints. The Tigers were coming off the back of a home defeat to Crystal Palace and now had mighty Liverpool standing in their way, a team they had not beaten in 17 attempts. The Tigers claimed the win thanks to strikes from Jake Livermore and David Meyler and a Martin Skrtel own goal, while Steven Gerrard scored for the visitors. The result was the perfect way to bounce back from a 1-0 home loss to strugglers Crystal Palace last time out and saw the Tigers rise to 10th in the table with 17 points from their opening 13 games.

Football launch an antiflare and smoke bomb campaign.

A new campaign is being launched to warn of the dangers of fans using flares and smoke bombs after it was revealed children as young as eight have been used to smuggle devices into football grounds. The campaign by the Premier League, Football League and the FA comes after a number of recent incidents including a linesman being struck by a firework at Aston Villa in October. Concerns have intensified after CCTV at one Premier League ground caught a young boy handing out fireworks to adults from his rucksack. Last season a 15-year-old boy suffered lung damage from a smoke bomb thrown at Wigan, while in February a 14-year-old boy was killed by a flare thrown by fans during a South American Libertadores Cup match in Bolivia. Last month a Manchester United fan who set off a smoke bomb during Sir Alex Ferguson's last game in charge, against West Brom, was given a suspendedtwo-month jail term and banned from any football grounds for three years. Nine people have been injured or burned by fireworks thrown at grounds in England in the last 18 months.
