Dear Readers

Yes winter has finally hit us with the coldest days and even colder nights, the heating has finally been fired up and the cosy home wear (you know slippers and cardigans) have made its annual appearance from the wardrobe.

We still can't complain, can we? enough of us do complain even though I have still seen sun bathers stripped down to the shorts, and bikini on the beach and on various terraces around. It's unbelievable sometimes when you see this because there we are all wrapped up as if it was freezing. The fact is that the humidity is different here in Spain and although the temperature can be above 15 degrees it can feel like 5 degrees especially with the wind chill.

We find the change in temperatures each year at this time causes many residents to fall to the flu and colds, the pharmacies make a fortune out of the many winter products to help smooth the symptoms.

It's nice to see the Christmas decs up in each town with the wonderful lighting displays, I have seen a pretty display in Albir on the roundabout in front of the Albir Gardens Hotel so I stopped to take a snap shown here below. There are many others wonderful displays so if you can send us in your snaps we can show them off to the readers next week. The shop windows have also been dressed with some fantastic decorations and the high streets look extremely inviting at night all bright and shiny with the lights and decorations. Altea is one of my favourites, driving through the N332 you can see the shops either side of the street it's worthwhile parking up and taking a walk around the town.

The Buzz Christmas raffle hosted in the Buzz News Desk aisle 6 indoor market Benidorm has had a very generous response from our readers and also from many of the business owners. We have a table full of gifts and surprises so with only a little more than one week to go please help us and being in any donations of gifts for the raffle taking place on Friday 19th at 1pm. The Christmas raffle is to raise money for the Children of EMAUS A fund for providing new bedding for each child. Tickets for the raffle can also be purchased from the Buzz office indoor market or at any Yorkshire Pride Pubs Benidorm and at the Geordie Bar for 1€ each.

If you have any festive news or information of local events please tell us at the Weekly Buzz news desk based in the indoor market Benidorm or simply e mail or call us on 965 020250 or email info@vistacostablanca.com

PRIME SUSPECT PAUL SCOTT FROM LIVERPOOL Continued from front page.. 3rd - 9th December 2014

Appeal to locate Liverpool man wanted in connection with huge drugs plot and murder of a British national in Spain The National Crime Agency is appealing to the public to help find a suspected member of a Merseyside based organised criminal network that plotted to smuggle up to 40 tonnes of drugs into the UK. Paul John Scott, aged 32, from Liverpool, is wanted for questioning in connection with the plot to import cocaine from South America hidden inside tins of fish and wooden pallets. The Guardia Civil in Spain would also like to talk to Scott about the murder of British national Francis Brennan in Alicante earlier this year. Mr Brennan had suffered “numerous injuries,” including suspected stab and gunshot wounds when his body was recovered, Spanish media reported. His hands were found tied together and was found to have suffered a severe head wound.

Police suspect his body – found in an “advanced state of decomposition” – was dropped in the sea, allegedly with a concrete slab inside the bag to help him sink. Passers-by at first thought the body was a dolphin that had washed ashore. Scott is believed to be in Europe and has links to Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. An appeal for information relating to Scott was broadcasted on BBC One’s Crimewatch programme on Thursday 4th December at 21.00 GMT. The appeal for Scott precedes the sentencing on 5th December at Liverpool Victim- Francis Brennan Crown Court of his criminal associate Kevin Jennings, aged 51, from Huyton, Liverpool, for conspiracy to import cocaine. Jennings was arrested in May 2014 by NCA officers while walking his dog in Walton. Twenty-four members of the highly sophisticated international criminal network were jailed for more than 250 years in October 2011. Greg McKenna, North West Investigations Branch Commander, said: “Paul Scott is the last man outstanding in our investigation into the plot to flood the UK with huge quantities of drugs. He is also wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Francis Brennan. “We are working closely with Merseyside Police and the Spanish authorities to locate him but we need the help of the public too.

“If you have information on the whereabouts of Scott, no matter how small or trivial it seems, please contact the NCA or Crimestoppers anonymously.” Anyone in Spain with information can call a special freephone number 900 555 111 - which will be answered in the UK by Crimestoppers’ call agents.

SPANIARDS SPEAK BETTER ENGLISH THAN EVER

A New study shows that Spain is reaping the rewards of increased investment into language education, with Spaniards speaking better English than ever. Spain is ranked 20th among 60 countries surveyed in the latest Education First (EF) English Language Proficiency Index, ahead of countries like Italy 27th and France ranked 29th. The results show a continuing trend towards better English language skills in Spain, with the country one of the biggest improvers since 2007 — behind only Turkey, Poland and Estonia. "Spain is seeing the results of a significant change in attitude toward English language education. The Spanish govern-

ment has defined English as one of seven basic skills, alongside Spanish and math," there is also an increase in the number of bilingual schools in the country, where students spend a third of the day English-speaking, training young people in essential skills for a globalized economy is undoubtedly a wise investment," the study said. It also showed Spanish women had slightly better English than Spanish men, while people aged 35 to 44 had the best English. The Danes came out top as the best non-native speakers of English ahead of the Netherlands and Sweden, while 18 of the top 20 countries were European.

REALLY GOOD ROASTIES Cooking time Preperation time: 20 mins Cook: 1 hr 30 mins Serves 8

Boil, fluff then crisp up in goose fat and oil for perfect roast potatoes - if you're vegetarian, sunflower oil works just as well Ingredients

3kg King Edward potatoes, cut into large chunks 175g goose fat 4 tbsp sunflower oil (or 8 tbsp if you’re not using goose fat) flaky salt Method

Seasons Greetings we will be open from 10th December

1

Boil the potatoes for 5 mins in salted water until the outside of the potatoes starts to soften. Drain well, return to the pan and shake to fluff up the outsides – alternatively, you can scratch them with a fork. (This process will make them crispier.) Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Put the goose fat (if using) and oil in a large shallow roasting tin and heat for 8-10 mins until the goose fat has melted and the mixture is really hot. Remove from the oven, carefully tip in the potatoes and stir well to coat them in the fat. Spread them out as much as the space allows and roast underneath the turkey for 45 mins, turning frequently and adjusting the positions so 9-* 2&78-2&1 that they brown evenly. When the turkey comes out of the oven, turn up the heat to 220C/200C fan/gas 7, season the potatoes with the flaky salt and roast for another 30 mins, turning halfway through the cooking time, until beautifully golden.

INDIA GATE WISH YOU A VERY CURRY CHRISTMAS 3rd - 9th December 2014

For "The best curry in town" as voted by the readers of the Buzz Newspaper in a recent survey carried out we can recommend a perfect night in the very hospitable hands of Navi and his wife who welcome you to enjoy the most authentic Indian cuisine in Benidorm and possibly the best in the whole of the Costa Blanca. So to enjoy a tasty and warming curry this Christmas a visit to India Gate is a must!

India Gate is situated in Calle Gerona Old Town end that has now become known as the food street and is one of the most popular places to visit for dining out, the road has been shut for traffic and the restaurants are able to place tables outside. Indian food is certainly one of my favourites and for me the whole experience of eating Indian food is actually having the meal in a restaurant that offers the ambiance and pleasure of the authentic hospitality offered by the Indian culture. It is the amazing aromas coming from the busy kitchen together with the stylish table ware that is used for serving the food. India Gate have made every effort to be original and inventive with their serving methods and creativity of the menu. The popadoms are served with a selection of dips that demonstrate the quality and perfection of the food on offer in this amazing restaurant. Spicy onion, tangy sweet Mango Chutney, Minty Yogurt and traditional Lime Pickle you certainly get your taste buds buzzing. I recently fell to the temptation of a chilly winter night and had the taste for a little spice so a well earned visit to

India Gate with friends and family for a great night out. My choice is normally a curry with a sauce and have my favourites such as a Madras or Pathia which is sweet and sour both of these are fairly hot and spicy but this time I had made a change. A decision made because of the fact that I had seen a number of customers eating grills and the s i z z l i n g steaming hot grill plates were being delivered from the kitchen and the amazing smells just got the better of me. So my choice was to have a Tandoori Mixed Grill together with a side dish of Spinach and Cheese (Sagg Panir) and a Taka Dhal (lentils) and of course a soft warm Nan Bread.

My guests ordered a Cheesy Chicken and a Chicken Tika Masala both served with rice. When our food was served the large sizzling grill was placed next to me that had an outstanding quantity of food displayed, Chicken, Lamb, King Prawn and Salmon Tika together with onions and peppers, the tarka dal and Spinach with Cheese were perfect accompaniments and I really did enjoy my meal. The amazing curries are served in stylish individual pots that have a burner within the base that keeps the food simmering away.

India Gate is always busy and it is very rare to see empty

9

tables although I recommend you make a reservation you would normally get seated if you are just turning up. The wealth of experience of the Indian chef and his kitchen team are the reasons that this restaurant needs very little help from me recommending the authentic indian food as it is common knowledge that the cuisine is the best you can get and people travel from all over the region to dine here. The VISTA CARD allows a 10% discount except for New Years Eve or with any special menus. Enjoy a very Curry Christmas at India Gate Benidorm.

CHRISTMAS MARKET AT CIUDAD PATRICIA 3rd - 9th December - 2014

On December 13th, Ciudad Patricia will be holding it's traditional Christmas Market. In the case, we mean 'traditional' because there will be many festive stands, plus of course mulled wine, Christmas Cake and many other stands with food, decorations and gifts. There is another way to look at 'traditional'. Ciudad Patricia has been holding this annual Christmas for 8 years and it's become a fixture on many people's diaries, with over a thousand people attending last year. Ciudad Patricia is an excellent venue for a Christmas Market, set in the woodlands just next to Benidorm. Its' easy to get to with ample parking. Of course what makes the event so successful is the incredible variety of stalls including: jewellery,

Christmas cards, ornaments, decorations, gifts, flowers, delicacies and Christmas food and drinks. Ciudad Patricia is easily accessible. From the A7 take the exit Benidorm Levante. After you pass under the overpass, take the right exit N332 towards Albir / Valencia. After about 1 km, take the exit Levante Benidorm, Aqualandia or Mundomar. At the traffic lights turn left. Straight through the ext traffic lights. After about 500m, turn left just before Deloix, signposted Ciudad Patricia. Follow the road for about 400m to the entrance to the resort. Simply park and walk up to "edificio central". Alternatively, you can also take bus 11 from downtown Benidorm. It stops right in front of the main building.

Give the gift of a toy to a child in need this Christmas

Drop off your toys for the Cruz Roja at Specsavers Opticas

The Cruz Roja is launching their annual Christmas campaign to collect as many toys as possible for families in need, and Specsavers Opticas are getting behind it by being drop-off points for donations. The aims of the Cruz Roja campaign are to improve the quality of life for youngsters in families experiencing hardship, improve personal development and skills through play and ensure that no child is without a toy this Christmas. EMAUS CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

The Weekly Buzz newspaper would like to offer our help at Christmas for the local children of EMAUS and we are organising a Christmas Raffle at our news desk at the Indoor Market aisle 6. The Fab Four, Anne, Pam, Tad & Stewie have joined up with us at the Weekly Buzz to help rally around for the donation of raffle prizes and also with the sale of the tickets. The raffle will be held on Friday 19th December at 1pm - everyone who attends will receive a winter chocolate muffin and a glass of mulled wine.

Donations for the raffle are very much needed, so please, if you can donate a prize (large or small) any type of Christmas gifts, food or drink items are welcomed so we can make up a hamper, or maybe a gift voucher for a product or service you can offer or money off.

The Weekly Buzz will be doing a full page feature on the Indoor Market where we will mention and thank everybody for their Donation to the Raffle.

The humanitarian association USAR-13 have organized, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of L'Alfas del Pi, the first Marcha Canicross or Dog Jog! The event will take place on Sunday December 14th. The Canicross is a discipline with a long tradition in Europe, which is developing in Spain. It consists of running with your furry friend while tied at the waist with a lead to the dog. Those interested in participating can register from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the parking lot of Faro de l'Albir (The light house car park) by providing a kilo of non-perishable food. "Those who bring 3 kilos also get a t-shirt commemorating the event,". During registration veterinary checks will be performed. There will be prizes for the top three in both male and female categories, and a Solidarity Award, which will be given to the person who brings the most food. It is open to everyonet, even those who do not want to run, can still participate in the march, with or without their pets

CHARITY MARKET

On 21 December, the Association of Pensioners Raco de l'Albir and Development Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Marina Baixa (MEMBA) are holding an event to raise funds for several local charities.

There will be over 25 stalls selling crafts and second hand items, plus for 5 euros you can purchase paella and a drink. All the proceeds from the giant paella will be donated to the Social Volunteer Association L'Alfas, who manage the food bank.

Last year’s event was extremely well attended, and the organisers would like 2014 to be even better. The organisation, based in l'Albir, was established in 2010 and currently has 368 members of various nationalities.

The market will be around the “Anchor” near the beach in Albir.

A HIDDEN SHOPPERS TREASURE

"THE PLAZA COBLANCA"

A hidden shopper’s treasure "The Plaza Coblanca" tucked away behind the BBVA bank on the corner of the Avenida Mediterraneo Rincon Benidorm opposite the new Casino. Thousands of people pass by without even knowing about the Plaza Coblanca and miss out of the fantastic range of shops and services. I went along to meet my great friends who have lived in the centre of the town for over forty years, Pam and Anne who know most of the local business owners in Benidorm, and who have a business themselves renting holiday apartments, they know only too well the need for recommendation by word of mouth, as a way of promoting the local business owners. When we met at the Plaza Coblanca for coffee, I could not believe that I who thought I knew most places, had not even been to this little gem of a shopping plaza before, even though I

myself often visit the bank and walk along the main road (Avenida Mediteranneo. I met many of the local shop owners and was delighted to learn about the offerings and products for sale. The Plaza has bars and cafes, a range of shops that include a hairdresser, a beauty salon, gifts and fashion shops amongst many more. The Christmas atmosphere has started with decorations, displays and a wonderful Christmas tree. The local shop owners need local people to visit and see their bargains and special winter offers. Come along and mention the Buzz newspaper to any of the shop owners below to get a special discount (excluding any current special offers). Start your Christmas with a visit to the Plaza Coblanca Rincon Benidorm and enjoy the wonderful festive atmosphere.

SIERRA NEVADA 24

Sierra Nevada (meaning "snowy range" in Spanish) is a mountain range in the region of Andalucia, provinces of Granada and Almería in Spain. It contains the highest point of continental Spain, Mulhacén at 3,478 metres (11,411 ft) above sea level. Sierra in Spanish means the teeth of a saw, which peaks of a mountain range may resemble.

It is a popular tourist destination, as its high peaks make skiing possible in one of Europe's most southerly ski resorts, in an area along the Mediterranean Sea predominantly known for its warm temperatures and abundant sunshine. At its foothills is found the city of Granada and, a little further, Almería and Málaga.

Parts of the range have been included in the Sierra Nevada National Park. The range has also been declared a biosphere reserve. The Sierra Nevada Observatory and the IRAM radiotelescope are located on the northern slopes at an elevation of 2,800 metres (9,200 ft).

Sierra Nevada Ski Station

Sierra Nevada is Europe’s southernmost ski station, and the highest in Spain. With its high elevation, the skiing season can last from late November until early May. Particularly towards the end of the season you can enjoy long, sunny days of skiing, although wind can be a problem due to Veleta's prominence and few trees. The resort is situated 27 km (17 mi.) from the city of Granada, and is accessed by the A-395. It is also less than 100 km from Motril, on the Costa Tropical, which means skiing and swimming on the same day is an option. Nearest bigger city is Malaga, is accessed by the highway A-7/European route E15 (Malaga-Motril), highway A44/ European route E902 (Motril-Granada) and then route Granada-Sierra Nevada Ski Station.

At the foot of the slopes there is a resort village, Pradollano, which stretches up a hill to the north of the pistes. The bottom of the village is at about 2100 metres above sea level, while the top is at almost 3400 metres above sea level. Pradollano is home to a large number of shops, including many that sell or rent ski equipment, souvenir shops and a small supermarket. There is also a variety of ski schools, restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs.

The mid-station Borreguiles, which is served by two cable cars that run from the bottom of Pradollano, is at 2675 m (8776 ft). Here there are a few cafés and restaurants, a ski school, a few hire shops and lockers.

3rd - 9th December - 2014

The resort is run by a private-public enterprise called Cetursa Sierra Nevada, S.A..

By far the main attraction for visitors to the resort is the 100 km (62 mi.) of alpine skiing runs. With abundant snow, it is possible to ski almost anywhere o n the

mountain, as the whole resort is above the tree line. It should be noted that the resort does not carry out avalanche blasting, and skiers are generally advised against leaving the pistes due to avalanche risk. As the resort mainly caters to locals, and less to people visiting for a whole week, it is much busier at weekends. There are rarely any queues mid-week outside the main Spanish holidays (first week of December, Christmas through to 6 January and Easter). Even at weekends, queues are generally fairly short if the whole resort is open, allowing skiers to spread out across the mountain.

In recent years the resort has made an effort to increase the number of services it offers, including expanding the Mirlo Blanco recreation zone, which now has an ice rink, toboggans, ski-bikes, mini-skis and a track for wheeled toboggans.

In summer you can go walking, cycling, horse-riding and mountain climbing in the area. One of the cable cars and one chair-lift are kept open in July and August, making it relatively easy for hikers to reach the summit of Veleta. On a clear day, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Africa from the peak of the mountain.

Also during the summer months, the National Parks office runs a microbus service from Hoya de la Mora, just above the resort village, to Posiciones del Veleta, at 3,100 metres. The service includes a guided commentary about the geology and ecology of the Sierra Nevada.

CRYPTIC CROSSWORD

wE27 WEEKLY HOROSCOPES ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)

It's time to put new projects into action. Take advantage of the input of those around you, as you’re all working on the same page for the same ends. Financial challenges although par for the course need to be handled carefully. You’ll want to share secrets by the weekend.

TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)

Your firing on all cylinders where communications are concerned, and you’ll get the best of situations this week by simply speaking your mind. It may be hard to pace developments at work, but you’ll certainly hit a home run in your love life. Just in time for Christmas. GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)

You’ve been making inroads with work plans and have settled at a steady pace, but events this week give you an added boost and encourage you to ramp up the pace and get yourself noticed. Short term financial gains give you some respite but longer gains need to be solidified.

CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)

Financial matters continue to improve, albeit slowly and surely, but the lunar high favours forward planning with a higher degree of commitment, so get cracking. Decisions need to be made this week and whether they’re minor or major, think before you concur. LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)

There’s little if no reason to procrastinate over issues that wont go away, so take the bit between your teeth, gather anyone who is involved and make decisions for the long term as time is running out. If others shy away from this, you’ll need to make decisions on their behalf.

Brain Teaser

I come in different shapes and sizes. Parts of me are curved, other parts are straight. You can put me anywhere you like, but there is only one right place for me. What am I?

Scribble Pad...

VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)

It may be the time of year, it may be that you’re more mature, it may be that you now have less responsibilities, it may be a lot of things, but you’re now finally managing to open up to people and let them in. Everyone loves the new laid back Virgo you’ve become. Congratulations.

LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)

Versatility is the key to success this week, and being able to keep up with the pace of life is such a boon. If you encounter minor stumbling blocks along the way, face them head on. Its all the running away over the years that has left you feeling incomplete. SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)

Practical affairs have a lot going for them this week and you’ll manage to achieve a great deal. Last minute purchases leave you feeling all warm inside, and you’re now realising and understanding, what the real meaning of Christmas is. About time! SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)

If you focus your energy on love and romance this week, you wont be left disappointed. Relationships mean the world to you, and maybe it’s the frost and fairies, or maybe it’s because you’ve come to a new stage in your life, but you have no problem telling others how much you love them.

CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)

The lunar low at the start of the week makes you a bit reluctant to get involved in certain matters, even if you grabbed them with both hands last week. D0ont panic. This feeling is temporary. Focus on one thing at a time. You work better when you’re working in an orderly fashion.

AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)

Continue to be light hearted and positive, and happy to fall into what friends and partners want you to do. The care and concern you’re now showing others brings a new facet of your personality to the fore, one that is popular, laid back and relaxed among your peers.

PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)

There will be points in the week where you’ll suddenly be overcome with feelings of nostalgia. Try not to compare this Christmas to yuletides of the past. If this is better you’ll grieve for the past and if its not as good you’ll be sad. Snap out of this. Focus on the here and now.

In an ideal world, you would be sent to a cardiac rehabilitation programme although it is unlikely that this would be accessible to you in Spain. Cardiac rehabilitation helps you to deal with your heart attack with emotional support, healthy lifestyle support, exercise programmes and education.

Although there is lots of general information for heart attack patients much of the advice needs to be tailored to the individual. Here however are some guidelines and answers to common questions.

Following a heart attack is important to take all the necessary steps to prevent future heart problems. This can be achieved in several ways. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE! A heart attack will not ruin your life but your anxiety regarding it may!

Things you SHOULD do after a heart attack

-Take your prescribed medication. Controlling blood pressure, cholesterol levels etc. is crucial in reducing the risk of heart attack.

-Eat healthily. Luckily for us in Spain, a Mediterranean diet is considered perfect for helping prevent heart attacks and strokes. -Keep your weight within healthy limits.

-Make sure that you have your Flu and pneumonia vaccines.

- Report any chest pain, swollen ankles, unusual tiredness or breathlessness to your Doctor.

- See your Doctor without delay if you or somebody close to you suspects that you may be depressed.

It´s not all tablets, Doctors and bad news. Other things you SHOULD/CAN do that may please or surprise you!

-Have sex. Yes this is correct! After a few weeks and if you are having no problems or chest pain, you can resume sexual activity. It is good for your health. Check with your Doctor first to ensure that you are fit for romance!

-Dance, exercise and enjoy yourself! Exercise is one of the main components of cardiac rehabilitation for most patients. Under the guidance of your Doctor, slowly build up your personalised exercise routine. Exercise, dancing and sex all help to ward off depression which is common following a heart attack.

-Drink alcohol! SMALL amounts of alcohol have been shown to have a beneficial effect on the heart. However, remember the limit is 21 units per week for men and 14 units per week for women. Do not binge drink and don´t forget to give your body 2 days each week without alcohol. - Go back to work! Most people can go back to work within 2-3 months of a heart attack. Your Doctor should advise you when it is safe for you to do so.

ALFAZ FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Sponsored by

There was 19 Premier League games contributing to this Week's Fantasy League which provided 44 goals,12 clean sheets,60 yellow cards and 5 red ones.Leicester had 2 Players sent off Konchesky & Morgan while Newcastle's Steve Taylor,Q.P.R's in form Striker Charlie Austin and Swansea's Keeper Fabianski were also dismissed. Lenny's Spreaders held on to the top spot of the Fantasy League for the 2nd Week running by scoring a creditable 47 points which kept Dennis's high flying Team The Potters in 2nd place. Mike's Team The Camels jumped up 8 places to 4th position while the former Leaders Vince's Bars a Loner slipped down to 5th. Down at the foot of the Table Les's Team Have Not Got a Clue had their best Week this Season clocking up 33 points thanks mainly due to West Ham's Star Striker Andy Carroll who scored a deadly double to sink Swansea in the Hammers 3-1 victory at Upton Park. Mind you Les's Team still has it all to do to catch up to Danny's Team Sarita F.C. the gap being 49 points. In our Mark Carter Ladies Section Sharon's Team Shaztastic have been top for 4 Weeks but they are now coming under pressure from 3 Teams Sarah's Team The Dons,Kim's Ginger United and Sue's Super Suze who are all within striking distance of the Summit. At the other end of the Table Winnie's Team Le Hombre Rioja are enjoying a mini revival due to her favourite Team Liverpool's run of results. They are now only 3 points behind Kate's Team Mixed Bunch. Sponge Bob XI have returned to the top of our U.K.T.V.SPAIN Junior League after spending 3 Weeks in 2nd place. Last Weeks Leaders Ginger Ninja have plummeted down 5 places to 5th.Down in the doldrums Adam's Team What's the Point are showing no signs of improvement has they have been 10 Weeks in the bottom spot. This Week they had the lowest score in this Section which leaves them trailing Calum's Team Rees Red Devils by 21 points. With plenty of Goals being scored in the 2 lots of Premier League games it meant there was plenty of points to be had in our Golden Boot League which is sponsored by Leonard Knowles Construction. Keith's Team Max & Paddy increased their advantage at the top to 19 points over Karen's Florida Pearls. Two Teams share 3rd

place,Eric's The Chosen Ones and Super Rhys are both on 215 points.I'm sure the 54 Fantasy Managers who chose Manchester City's brilliant Argentinian Striker Sergio Aguero will be keeping fingers crossed for a speedy recovery as this Week he scored 10 points which took his total in this Section to a massive 70 points, 15 points infront of Chelsea's naughty Boy Diego Costa. The 2 goals scored by Andy Carroll were not enough to shift Les's Team Have Not Got a Clue off the bottom spot but a least they may have a chance of moving up if Andy keeps on scoring for the Hammers. In a high scoring Week the top score went to Craig's Team Winton Blues who scored 66 points. His top Players were Hammer's Andy Carroll and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero who between them scored 34 points. They will now go into our Monthly Premier Imports Draw for a case of fine wine along with our lowest scoring Team which was Dave's Jukebox Mackems who only managed a lowly 7 when the average score was 34 points. Manager of the Month for December is being kindly sponsored by ELIDAS STEAKHOUSE top Restaurant in Albir who provide the best Steaks in the area. There are 5 Weekends in December so who ever wins this Super Meal for 2 will be in for a real treat. At the moment Craig's Winton Blues are in pole position with a 4 point lead over 4 Teams. Mike's Team The Camels,Jin's Dream Team,Phil's Flixton Sunshiners and Steph's Seymour Shooters. Eric's City Slickers and Dave's Always Believe in Gold are also in the mix just 6 points away from the Leaders. The Fastest Moving Team this week was Craig's Winton Blues who climbed up 57 places to No 125 which means he has now won a super Breakfast for 2 at Rafters sponsored by Kate. The Fantasy League is not won in December but with a crucial Christmas Programme on the Horizen it's important to keep an eye on how your team is performing by visiting our website which is www.alfazffl.com or if you can't access a computer you can always pop into Hepburns in Albir and clock all the Tables on their Notice Boards, you can also visit me at the Weekend in The Local for all the up to date News of the Fantasy.

BARCA DOWN PSG TO 6 TOP

GROUP

3rd - 9th December - 2014

Barcelona avenged their September defeat in the French capital by beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at Camp Nou to claim top spot in Champions League Group F. PSG's home victory over the Catalan giants saw them take control of the pool for the rest of the autumn but Barca seized the opportunity to leapfrog them in Wednesday night's return meeting.

With 15 points from six games Barca claimed first place and therefore a last-16 encounter with a secondplaced team from another group while PSG, who accrued 13 points, can expect to face the likes of Real Madrid or Chelsea.
