dear readers

This week is not only “sport crazy” but it’s also the run up to the Spanish Fiestas “Las Fallas” and the widely celebrated St Patrick's Day. We are promised plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the middle 20's across the coast.

The Spanish celebrations start on the 15th March until the 19th. There will be street parties and parades, and giant statues that stand proud until the final night when they are burned. Thousands of Brits flock to Benidorm for a week of celebrations that take over the main area. Fancy dress is popular for the many visitors who return year after year for this event.

Father's Day in Spain is celebrated on the 19th (next Thursday) – the last day of the “Fallas”, which is also a public holiday. Don't forget it is Mother’s day in the UK on Sunday 15th – so hurry and send those cards and flowers back home, or for those with mums here in Spain there are some great places around for Mother’s day lunch.

I mentioned earlier, it’s a crazy week for sports with the Cheltenham festival already underway and the weekend ahead promising to continue with the 6 Nations Rugby final stages on the 14th and 15th.

Overseas FM will be broadcasting live from the Flash Hotel on the 17th March. For those who would like to take part in the St Patrick's Day celebrations, please come along and see us there from 11am. However, if you can’t be there, listen live on 93.4 or 105.4 FM (depending or your location) or via the website or your mobile phone with the free app download.

the sound of the 60´s came to Benidorm on sunday night as three greats from the era gave a one off special concert at the Palace. The Foundations, Dave Berry and Vanity Fare churned out hit after hit to the delight of the packed venue, bringing back fond memories to many in the audience. By the end of the evening many were up on their feet, singing along with the groups and dancing in the aisles. The performers only flew in that afternoon and headed straight to the Palace to set up and carry out sound checks – where we had the opportunity to snap them all on the stage together for a special picture for readers of The Buzz. Over the last few years Benidorm Palace has managed to host some legendary groups from the 60´s and later this year, on Sunday 25th

October will be bringing another. “Walk like a Man” – a tribute to Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons and “The Fortunes” who´s hits include “Don´t throw your love away” will be here for a one off show. La nuCia Car raLLy

the town of La nucia hosted its first ever car rally last saturday – an event organized by the Automobile Club Costa Blanca and Automobile Federation Valencia in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Alicante and La Nucia Town Hall. The previous evening all the participating cars arrived at the Sports centre and when many enthusiasts turned out to photograph the vehicles. Participation of Miguel Fuster, fourtime champion of Spain and Santiago Cañizares, former goalie of Real Madrid and Valencia ensured a great turnout of spectators. 46 cars took part in the one day “Rallye Marina Baixa”, which covered over 42 kilometres in three separate sections of winding roads. The race was won by the Spanish champion Fuster and his co-driver Nacho Aviño, who

completed the course in a new Porsche 997 GT3 2010. The car had only just been registered the previous week so was being premiered for the first time – quite a coup for the town. The Mayor, Bernabe Cano presented the winning pair with their trophy on Saturday night at the Camilo Cano Sports Centre. By irena Bodnarec

things must be really tough as the second Chance Charity shop in albir was broken into last week. The shop is located at the back of Centro Comercial, off the main road leading down to the beach. The break in happened sometime in the early hours of Saturday morning, as staff at the nearby Lings restaurant were still open until after midnight and did not notice anything untoward. The thieves got in via the vents above the door and managed to take the safe off the wall, which they took with them and helped themselves to a selection of sunglasses and jewelry too. Distressingly for the volunteers who arrived to open up on Saturday morning, they also carefully emptied the glass bottle of coins on the counter that was meant for charity and threw items off the racks and made a

huge mess. The Policia Local came to take statements but unfortunately they are not covered on their insurance for the lost money – much of which was owing to customers who had bought in items to sell on a percentage commission. if anyone has a spare safe they are willing to donate they would be most grateful – their contact details are 966 865 342 and any donations would be much appreciated. The sewerage works in the area of ‘Cami de la Cantera’ and the streets ‘Otari’ and

‘Tauro’ in Albir are due to start. Head of Technical Services Department, Juan Carlos Casiano, confirmed that the investment of €54,000, and the approval of the Government Board, means the start date for the works is imminent. This area is important in the distribution of rainwater and these improvements intend to stop the flooding that occurs every time it rains violently. By Marian tent.

It is currently used as a parking area for garbage trucks, and to store park and garden service materials. Access to the villa is restricted to authorized personnel only, and Toni Such has denounced the three PP advisors. The denunciation against the Executive Board of the Local Government was presented by Maite Huerta, the President of the Partido Popular and leader of the Opposition. She provided all the required documentation. The judge will now proceed to request an explanation from the Local Government to see if it is guilty of the following offences:The perversion of justice, the misuse of public funds, negligence in the safekeeping of documents, fraudulently awarding and extending a contract and in granting funds and the ill treatment of animals.

The Animal Shelter was opened in the 1990s but in the last seven years (coinciding with the Socialist rule) reports by the Autonomic Council of Agriculture, Fishery and Health have revealed after inspecting the installations, that there are a number of deficiencies relating to the lack of the correct documentation, the food given to the animals and the hygiene of the shelter.

The Shelter has received more than 100.000€ from the Council. It was authorized as an Animal Shelter by the Socialist Government although it did not comply with certain legal requirements necessary in order to be registered as an Animal Shelter for abandoned animals and its contract was extended inspite of the fact that the Local Government knew that the legal requirements were not met. altea town hall has decided to take advantage of the Provider Payment Plan offered by the spanish government, which allows paying outstanding loans at 0% interest rate and extending the repayment period for one extra year.

In 2012 Altea Town Hall asked the banks for almost €15 million to pay overdue supplier bills, and this scheme means it will save €600,000 in interest pay-

ments. The Town Hall had set aside €1 million within its budget and that money will now be used to cancel other loans with higher interest rates. The clearance of the previous year’s accounts to know the surplus and the exact debt of Altea with the banks is pending; in the absence of this data the forecast at beginning of 2014 was closing the year with a debt level below 84%. one of Benidorm´s most popular places - “Levi´s showboat” in the rincon de Loix, was broken into on saturday morning. Thieves brazenly jemmied the two sets of front doors open with a crowbar at 8:30am, which set the alarm off. Before the police managed to arrive they had succeeded in getting away with a small safe, freestanding vending machine and the staff tip jar. Owner Wayne Edward Wright and partner Des Bellamy were at the premises as soon they were notified and by lunchtime workmen were already repairing the damage to the doors. Wayne was angered and more upset about the staff tip jar being taken than the other things, but resolute in his stance that they would be open for business as usual. They are awaiting the images from the CCTV cameras, which were fully operational during the break in. However, due to the fact that there were two large vans parked directly outside the front door, it masked from direct view what was going on inside and didn´t rouse the suspicions of any passers-by.

The pair are champions when it comes to fundraising for charity, regularly organizing afternoon shows for good causes. The next event planned will take place on Sunday 22nd March – this time for 3 dog charities: Love of Dogs, Benidorm Dogs home and BARC – Busot Animal Rescue Concern. A host of Benidorm´s top artistes will entertain you for the afternoon – already confirmed are Tony Scott, Kay C, Stella Artois and The Dream Girls. Doors open at 1.45pm and entry is only 2€, with a raffle also taking place so make sure you bring plenty of money! By irena Bodnarec.

atM ConMan arrested

The Spanish National Police have arrested a 43-year-old Dutch man after he scammed over €7,000 from eight different people at ATMs located in Benidorm and Alfaz del Pi during the last few months. The conman approached elderly people and watched them as they got cash out, memorising their PIN code number. He then made the victims believe the ATM was broken and the card was lost inside. Once he had both the card and the PIN code, the man completed cash withdrawals and “in store” purchases before the victims cancelled their cards. The thief had no criminal record and was taken to court after giving evidence. The investigation was carried

Las FaLLas the Fiesta oF san Jose 17th-19th MarCh 11th Feb - 17th Feb

For five days the castles, monuments and “mascletaes” become the protagonists of Benidorm, where the smell of gunpowder is interspersed with the smell of flowers and the music of the bands with the sound of masclets. A transformation that occurs as a prelude to spring, and on March 19th, everything ends and everything begins; with the last of the ashes people start to dream of Fallas again for the following year. The festival of San José takes place in Benidorm

from the 15th to the19th of March. Like the city of Valencia, Benidorm honours San José with Las Fallas a festival of nightly street parties and rowdy fireworks. Three giant papier-mâché statues (ninots) are erected and then ceremoniously burned to the ground on the final evening. The trio of statues, known as Central Falla, Rincon Falla and Els Tolls Falla, are constructed by - and placed in - the different districts of Benidorm.

Puerto BLanCo €3 MiLLion ProJeCt

there are plans to change Puerto Blanco Port in Calpe completely. The Infrastructures Department is looking for a private company to do a whole itinerary of improvements, in exchange for management rights for the next 30 years.

The company who takes on this project will have to invest €3 million, plus a yearly quota of €44,000 – but the expected yearly profits will be €600,000.

The project involves changing the port, adding new wetlands (which will

allow the docking of luxury yachts) and also changes on the land. The old pavilions will be demolished in order to construct two new buildings which will house a shopping centre, beach bar, nautical school and workshop for repairing and maintaining boats. Both buildings will be linked by a pedestrian promenade.

In addition, the improvements will include restructuring the hillside, the construction of a retaining wall to avoid rock falls, and a new parking area. By Marian tent.

the spanish ‘Policia nacional’ were made aware of three properties where owners were growing illegal marijuana plants, and after investigating they arrested four people : two men in La Nucia (Spanish and Lithuanian) and a British couple in Javea. All three houses had tampered with their electric supply, in order to conceal the massive energy consumption

caused by the sophisticated ventilation, lighting, temperature control and irrigation systems. The officers confiscated a total of 2,771 plants and 2.6 kilograms of vacuum packed marijuana

buds. The arrested are accused of crimes against public health and electricity fraud within the framework of the fight against narcotics. By Marian tent.

neW LiCenCe Changes does it aFFeCt us?? 11th March - 17th March

We have over the last few weeks read many reports about new laws for changing our driving licenses to a Spanish one. Often reports have been conflicting and confusing. Depending on the newspaper you read or the website you check, everyone has a different theory on the new law and whether there is a new law at all.

We spoke to PMR Property Management & Rental and asked their advice on this matter and we received very sound advice. Lisa Turner, Director of PMR based in Alfaz del Pi would recommend anyone who is a Resident in Spain to change their Licence for ease of identification and communication with the Authorities and peace of mind. Lisa gave a scenario that if a UK Licence were to be lost and you are Resident in Spain, you would not easily be able to get a replacement UK Licence from DVLA because you no longer have a permanent UK address. This could be problematic as you are always required to have your Licence with you while driving here and trying to explain your replacement is coming via your best friend’s sister could cause you more problems with the Police if you are stopped and found not to be carrying one. If the same were to happen and you lost your Spanish Licence, this can easily be replaced

because you reside here. The Police cannot enforce their penalty points system if your Licence is not Spanish and as we all know, the laws can often be misunderstood or misconstrued even by the authorities themselves. It is a legal requirement in the UK to change your non British Licence within a certain time frame so we would recommend you apply the same rules while residing here in Spain and carry a Spanish Licence. You can easily change your Licence using the “One Stop Shop” services at PMR. Contact them on 966260877 or email info@pmrspain.com or you can visit their offices which are open from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Friday.

Pound hits seven-year high against euro travel 11th March - 17th March

22

around

What's more, the pound to euro exchange rate may continue to fly.

the pound has reached a more-than seven year high against the euro, a day after the european Central Bank (eCB) began its government bond buying programme, sterling rose 1% to hit €1.40 for the first time since december 2007.

Here's why: 1. Sterling may rise, because the UK economy is forecast to grow +0.6% in early 2015, faster than at the end of last year. 2. The pound could strengthen, because the UK is creating an astonishing +70,000 new jobs a month, according to statistics body Markit. 3. Sterling may climb, because economists say that the UK economy is on course for yet another robust performance in the first quarter. 4. The euro may weaken meanwhile, because the European Central Bank is set to begin its €1.1 trillion emergency stimulus next Monday. 5. The euro may fall, because prominent German politician Peter Ramsauer said yesterday that Greece would be "better off" outside the Eurozone. 6. The euro may lose out, because Germany's exports unexpectedly tumbled –2.1% in January, more than the –1.5% forecast.

It means UK holidaymakers to the eurozone will have just over 15% more spending power than a year ago.

City analysts said continued fears over a Greek exit from the eurozone had also helped push the pound higher against the single currency. Last year, the pound was trading at €1.205, meaning holidaymakers could expect €1.18 for every pound they exchanged.

UK holidaymakers to Europe would have received €707 for every £600 they exchanged a year ago, but they would get €822 today. The rise in sterling came after the head of the eurozone finance ministers' group called on Greece to "stop wasting time" and engage in serious talks on reform.

t.M. Lions Praised as ConCert raises 1530 euros For eBoLa orPhans

On Saturday 28th February, Teulada Moraira Lions Club held a fund-raising concert within Espai La Senieta, Moraira, featuring the ever popular ABBA Elite. Sr Antoni Joan Bertomeu Vallés, the Alcalde of Teulada Moraira, asked if he might say a few words to the audience before the band came onstage and, in a brief address, expressed, in warm and generous terms, his appreciation of the work done by TM Lions within the local community, referring, in particular, to the ongoing support given to Caritas and the Social Services Departments of Teulada-Moraira and Benitachell in helping provide food for families in need; equipment given to the primary

schools in Benigembla, Moraira & Benitachell; and the continuing financial assistance furnished to the Emaus Children's Home at El Vergel. The Alcaldi was applauded off the stage by the audience as he then made way for ABBA Elite and the evening proper got underway; La Senieta filled with the music of ABBA's greatest and best loved hits; and those "hardcore" ABBA fans, who had turned up in costume, boogied away in the aisles! The sellout event raised an impressive 1530 euros which will be sent by TM Lions to their parent organisation, Lions Clubs International Foundation, as a donation

towards the cost of building schools and orphanages to educate and provide shelter for children in West Africa whose young lives have been devastated by the Ebola pandemic.

New kids on the pitch, well not really kids just 55 years old plus, members of Moraira Teulada U3A’s new “Walking Football” group at their second session on Thursday morning on the Astro turf pitch in Moraira situated between Espai La Senieta and the Health Centre. The group under the leadership of Chris Dry and coached by John Freeman an ex professional footballer seen taking the group through a very short warm up routine, are looking for new players (must be members of the Moraira Teulada U3A), to join their ranks to enjoy the exercise and company in the craze that is sweeping the UK (as seen on Barclays tv adverts).

If you are interested, it is open to both sexes, so join in the fun, contact Chris by going to the U3A’s website and sending him an email using the link provided or join him and the others on the pitch at 10AM for a start at 10:30AM this coming Thursday. The rules are fairly simple, firstly no running, no contact, no tackles with force, no tripping, pushing or holding. There are other rules but they are easy to pick up, so why not come and join them. CRYPTIC CROSSWORD

wE25 WEEKLY HOROSCOPES aries (March 21st-april 20th)

You have a wonderful talent for communicating this whole month, so no matter what genre you’re in, be it work or play, you’ll manage to get your message across loud and clear. You’re in the right frame of mind to sink your teeth into new projects. Exciting.

taurus (april 21st-May 21st)

Never one to do things on a whim, you’ll mull over information that’s come your way and will consider your options from all angles before making any moves. Try to find the time to do things you enjoy, as you always seem to be doing things for others. geMini (May 22nd-June 21st)

You want to get things just right at work, but if you think you’re slipping back a bit, don’t be afraid to ask a trusted friend for a helping hand as they’ll be only too glad to help you out. It’s all about teamwork this week, so treat your partner well. CanCer (June 22nd-July 23rd)

Differences of opinion wont really have a bearing on the way you behave, especially if you refuse to side with either contender. Not getting involved in itself may annoy others, but you have no axe to grind with anyone so why should you put yourself in the firing line.

Leo (July 24th-august 23rd)

Expect a week where there will be a lot of things going on around you. However, you’ll be expected to fulfil specific expectations in a family sense. Don’t get involved in any schemes that seem shady to you be they centred around family, friends or acquaintances.

Scribble Pad...

virgo (august 24th-september 23rd)

There’s setbacks at work on the horizon, but with your positive mental attitude and calm demeanour, you’ll manage to turn them around in no time. If certain people are determined to be awkward, keep smiling and continue to be charming as it’ll totally disarm them.

LiBra (september 24th-october 23rd)

Although the early bird catches the worm this week, don’t work so hard that you’re not getting enough sleep. That will just defeat the purpose. Its all about finding a balance. If you’re tired you’ll just get argumentative, and no one wants that do they? Get rest. sCorPio (october 24th-november 22nd)

With the moon in your solar twelfth house at the start of the week, this week will be quieter than last, but keep checking arrangements before you commit yourself to anything, as your lethargy could lead to you forgetting things and you may double book yourself. sagittarius (november 23rd-december 21st)

You can instinctively feel yourself coming to the end of a chapter in your life, and although there will be moments of nostalgia, you also know that starting a new phase in your life will be exciting and challenging. Its natural to move on so embrace the changes.

CaPriCorn (december 22nd-January 20th)

Your expansive mental outlook and tolerance level make it an excellent time for mixing freely with others, especially in the work zone. Planetary trends favour your professional life this week and could even bring you face to face with long standing ambitions. aQuarius (January 21st-February 19th)

Don’t over burden yourself with pointless thankless tasks this week or you’ll be ready to explode by the weekend. Be active and enterprising even when others around you are not, as having a goal will keep your calm and focused. Make time to relax at the weekend

PisCes (February 20th-March 20th)

It’s one of those weeks where you’ll be able to turn social advantages into business opportunities. Everyone you meet seems to have something good to say to you and about you. Compliments boost your ego and that’s great, but just don’t let your head be turned.

verdict

But then there’s the big question: why this over an RS3? For similar money you can ditch the taller stance, gain the MQB platform’s versatility, retain the five-pot mill and still get Quattro. While the RS Q3 is now a better car than the GLA 45 AMG, it might be worth holding on for the hot A3 – due next summer – before deciding if SUV elevation is really a must-have.

statistics

The cabin still needs a fair few options chucked at it before the cheaper plastics and switchgear from lesser Audis fade into insignificance. It feels a little thrifty in there to carry the RS moniker. Then there’s the steering – while recalibrated and decently weighted no matter which mode you’re in – it still lacks that feedback so crucial to testing the very outer limits of the brilliant Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Perhaps that’s more a compliment on outright grip than a major dynamic shortfall, but this is meant to be a performance model, even if it’s an SUV.

do you Bruise easiLy?

Bruises (contusions) are caused when small blood vessels under the skin tear or rupture. This is usually following a knock, bump or fall which causes blood to leak into the tissues under the skin. Bruises change colour over two to four weeks from purplish black to reddish blue to yellowish green. Sometimes the area of the bruise spreads down the body in the direction of gravity. Most bruises are not a cause for concern and will fade away on their own. A bruise on a leg usually will take longer to heal than a bruise on the face or arms. However, severe bruising, swelling, and pain that begins within 30 minutes of an injury may mean a more serious problem, such as a severe sprain or fracture. People that have a tendency to bruise easily often are not even aware of what has caused a bruise. Bruising easily does not always mean that you have a serious health problem especially if bruising is minimal or only shows up once in a while: • As adults get older the skin becomes thinner due to reduced flexibility and less fat under the skin. These changes, along with skin damage from exposure to the sun, cause blood vessels to break easily, thus causing bruising. • Women bruise more easily than men, especially from minor injuries on the thighs, buttocks, and upper arms. • A tendency to bruise easily sometimes runs in families.

haematomas

Occasionally after an injury, blood collects and pools under the skin (haematoma), giving the skin a spongy, rubbery, lumpy feel. A haematoma usually is not a cause for concern. It is not the same thing as a blood clot in a vein.

Petechiae and Purpura

Petechiae are pinpoint, round spots that appear on the skin as a result of bleeding under the skin. The bleeding causes the petechiae to appear red, brown or purple. They commonly appear in clusters and may look like a rash. Usually flat to the touch, petechiae don't disappear on pressure. Petechiae are tiny. Larger varieties of these types of spots are called purpura. Petechiae or purpura may indicate a number of conditions, ranging from minor blood vessel injuries to lifethreatening medical conditions.

sudden unexplained bruising

Sudden unexplained bruising or a sudden increase in the frequency of bruising may be caused by: • A medicine, such as aspirin or blood thinners (antico agulants). • A chronic inflammatory disease such as Lupus • Liver disease • A bleeding or clotting disorder such as haemophilia, thrombocytopenia or Von Willebrands’s disease. • Inflammation of a blood vessel (vasculitis). • Infection that causes the build up of toxins in the blood or tissues (sepsis). • Malnutrition, such as deficiencies of vitamins B12, C, or K, or folic acid. • Some types of cancer, such as Hodgkin's disease, leukaemia, or multiple myeloma.

should a person experience any abnormal bruising they should seek advice from their g.P. in order to eliminate any medical cause, serious or otherwise.

The walk around Terra Natura Benidorm enters the traveller in facilities equipped with more than 1,500 animals of 200 species, distributed throughout various thematic areas. Pangea, where a volcano reigns, is the place of poisonous creatures like spiders or snakes. America stands for the colour of the wings of exotic birds in the aviary, the graceful flames or the restless capuchin monkeys. Asia is home of the elephants, which can be seen bathing in the meadow, rhinos, tigers, dhole and other animals. They represent the fauna of this remote and mystical continent. Finally, there is an area dedicated to Europe which is symbolized by a typical Mediterranean village, where deer, fallow deer,

mouflon and farm animal hide, among other native species. The fun also takes place through musical performances, workshops for children and various activities set in each of the areas. Las Fallas de Valencia

Las Fallas is undoubtedly one of the most unique and crazy festivals in Spain. Then again, Spain is a country known for its unique and odd fiestas. What started as a feast day for St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters, has evolved into a 5-day, multifaceted celebration involving fire. Valencia, a quiet city with a population of just over 1 million, swells to an estimated three million flame-loving revelers during Las Fallas celebrations.

Las Fallas literally means "the fires" in Valencian. The focus of the fiesta is the creation and destruction of ninots (“puppets” or “dolls”), which are huge cardboard, wood, paper-machè and plaster statues. The ninots are extremely lifelike and usually depict bawdy, satirical scenes and current events. A popular theme is poking fun at corrupt politicians and Spanish celebrities. The labor intensive ninots, often costing up to 66, 227€, are crafted by neighborhood organizations and take almost the entire year to construct. Many ninots are several stories tall and need to be moved into their final location of over 350 key intersections and parks around the city with the aid of cranes on the day of la plantà (the rising).

The ninots remain in place until March 19th, the day known as La Cremá (the burning). Starting in the early evening, young men with axes chop cleverly-hidden holes in the statues and stuff them with fireworks. The crowds start to chant, the streetlights are turned off, and all of the ninots are set on fire at exactly 12 a.m. (midnight). Over the years, the local bomberos (firemen) have devised unique ways to protect the town's buildings from being accidentally set on fire by the ninots: such as neatly covering storefronts with fireproof tarps. Each year, one of the ninots is spared from destruction by popular vote. This ninot is called the ninot

tests and beauty pageants around the city. Spontaneous fireworks displays explode everywhere during the days leading up to La Crema, but the highlight is the daily mascletá which occurs in the Plaza Ayuntamiento at exactly 2pm. When the string-lined firecrackers are ignited, the thunderous, rythmitic sounds they make can be considered music as the sound intensifies in volume. Those firecrackers timed to fall to the ground literally shake the floor for next ten minutes, as the mascletá is more for auditive enjoyment than visual. Falles can be found in the Plaza del Pilar and the Plaza de la Merced, another near the Convento Jerusalén, and others on Almirante Cadarso, Reino de Valencia, Sueca and Cuba streets.

indultat (the pardoned puppet) and is exhibited in the local Museum of the Ninot along with the other favorites from years past. The origin of las Fallas is a bit murky, but most credit the fires as an evolution of pagan rituals that celebrated the onset of spring and the planting season. In the sixteenth century, Valencia used streetlights only during the longer nights of winter. The street lamps were hung on wooden structures, called parots, and as the days became longer the now-unneeded parots were ceremoniously burned on St. Joseph's Day. Even today the fiesta has retained its satirical and working-class roots, and the well-to-do and faint-of-heart of Valencia often ditch out of town during Las Fallas.

Besides the burning of the ninots, there is a myriad of other activities during the fiesta. During the day, you can enjoy an extensive roster of parades, paella con-

aLFaZ Fantasy FootBaLL League

JuKeBox FootBaLL sPonsored By PrediCtions League

There was 11 Premier League games and two 6th Round F.A.Cup Ties involving Premier Teams which gave the Fantasy 27 goals,9 clean sheets,46 yellow cards and 2 red ones.West Brom's Yacob & Aston Villa's young Star Grealish were the 2 Players to receive their marching orders from Referee Anthony Taylor.Well at least he saved them from being bitten in the mayhem that followed the final whistle.Aston Villa who have had a poor Season so far are the only Team through to the Semi-Finals as I'm writing this Report, what with Liverpool's disappointing draw with Venky's Blackburn and Manchester United playing Arsenal in the Monday Night Cup Tie anything could still happen in this Season's F.A.Cup. Dennis's Team The Potters extended their lead at the top of the Alfaz Fantasy Football League to 51 points over the high flying Super Rhys. If Spurs Harry Kane keeps on scoring The Potters will be a shoe in for this Season's Fantasy League Title. Only 2 Fantasy Managers selected the in form Striker and lets be fair not many People had heard of him before the Season started unless you were a Spurs Fan. Super Rhys jumped 3 places to 2nd while Keith's Max & Paddy slipped down to 3rd. Down at the bottom Gil's Kippax and Les's Team Have Not Got a Clue are both keeping their head above water while Dan's Team Boro Man Dan are sinking fast and are now 47 points adrift of the nearest Team. The Golden Boot League which is sponsored Leonard Knowles Construction shows no changes at the top with Keith's Max & Paddy leading the way with a 48 point advantage over young Super Rhys Team. Karen's Florida Pearls are hanging on in there in 3rd place followed by last Season's Winners of this Section Abby Brigade. At the other end Dave's Casa Stretford Ender are struggling to pick up points which is not surprising when you have Spurs Adebayor in your side who seems to have disappeared from the Spurs line up.Keeping Dave warm at the bottom are our 2 Curry Managers Danny with Sarita F.C. and Sonny with Curry Potters. Lesley's Laws Lads are coming under pressure at the top of our Mark Carter Ladies Section from Sarah's Team The Dons who have closed the gap to only 19 points. Rachel's Team Blue Murder climbed back to 3rd while last Season's Champions in this Section Danielle's Charlie's Chicos can't be ruled out of contention after collecting 49 points this Week.Down at the foot of the Table Gil's Kippax gained a point on Penny's Team Penemone Players but it still leaves them 28 points behind. Our U.K.T.V.SPAIN Junior League was very open early on in the Season but it now looks like Super Rhys have taken a firm grip in this Section and have moved 47 points clear at the Summit leaving Ginger Ninja and Sponge Bob XI in 2nd & 3rd place. Calum's Rees-Red-Devils have been in the bottom spot for the

last 3 Weeks and at the moment they trail Jack's Lads on Toure by 18 points. Top score for this Week was Tommy's Team Quantrill's Raiders who bagged 58 points courtesy of his 10 Liverpool Players who scored 57 of them. The lowest score went to Eric's Bootwinners who only managed a lowly 3 points. Both Teams will go into our Monthly Premier Imports Draw for a case of fine Wine. Once again our Manager of the Month is being sponsored by one of our top Restaurants in the Area. This Month is being sponsored by Sonny at The Curry Pot who have recently moved to Arabi Plaza in Alfaz. They are well known for their Authentic Indian Cuisine and excellent service.

With only one Week gone Tommy's Quantrill's Raiders have taken an early 5 point lead over Colin's Bentley Boys.3 Teams are in joint 3rd place and they are Alan's Har Joe,Andy's Lofty's Lions and Addison's Bangle Boys. So it looks like it's going to be another close run chase for this Month's super Prize. The Rafters Super Breakfast for 2 which is sponsored by Kate has gone to Al Barlow's Team

Har Joe who moved up 29 places to No 106. In the last 3 Weeks his team has moved up 78 places so with 10 Weeks to go there is hope for all of us yet! WALES UNCHANGED FOR IRELAND

Wales head coach Warren gatland has named an unchanged team for saturday's rBs six nations clash with unbeaten title favourites ireland in Cardiff. Gatland sticks with the starting line-up that beat France 20-13 in Paris 10 days ago, a result that kept Wales' hopes alive of landing a third Six Nations crown in four years. Sam Warburton, who went off after taking a blow to his knee during that win, will break Ryan Jones' record when he captains Wales for the 34th time on Saturday. Gatland makes two injury-enforced changes amongst the replacements with uncapped Scarlets prop Rob Evans replacing Bath loosehead Paul James, who suffered a fractured thumb

during the France game, and Jake Ball takes over from Bradley Davies at lock. A win for Wales will keep them in the title shake-up. Gatland said: "We return to the Millennium Stadium after two tough away trips with two victories, and we will be looking to build on that.

Wales Line up Halfpenny, North, Davies, Roberts, L Williams, Biggar, Webb, G Jenkins, S Baldwin, S Lee, L Charteris, Jones, Lydiate, Warburton, Faletau. replacements: Hibbard, Jarvis, Ball, Tipuric, M Priestland, S Williams.

SLADE CALLED IN BY ENGLAND

England have called Exeter fly-half Henry Slade into their training camp ahead of Saturday's Six Nations clash with Scotland. Stuart Lancaster's side head in to the Calcutta Cup clash at Twickenham looking to shake off the 19-9 defeat to Ireland on March 1 and 21-year-old Slade, who can operate at centre, replaces the injured Brad Barritt in the squad.

Barritt suffered an ankle sprain while on club duty with Saracens at the weekend and he may be joined on the sidelines by Leicester hooker Tom Youngs, who is struggling with a knock and may have to hand his berth to Rob Webber. he RFU also confirmed Tigers flanker Tom Croft will miss the remainder of the tournament due to a dislocated shoulder as will Bath prop Henry Thomas, who sustained a

shoulder strain against Sale.

Better news for Lancaster comes in the forms of locks Courtney Lawes and Geoff Parling, who are pushing for recalls having overcome injuries and completed full games for Northampton and Leicester respectively at the weekend.

Regarding Slade's promotion, Lancaster said: "The more I see him, the more I think he's got fantastic potential. I've always known it having seen him come through the age-group teams.

danny Welbeck scored the winner on his return to old trafford to give arsenal a 2-1 victory over Manchester united and book their place in the Fa Cup semi-finals. The United academy graduate was deemed surplus to requirements last summer by Louis van Gaal but came back to haunt his former side by netting the decisive goal in a captivating cup clash.

Nacho Monreal had given the Gunners the lead in the 25th minute but United quickly levelled thanks to Wayne Rooney’s header. Welbeck restored Arsenal's advantage on the hour mark when he capitalised on Antonio Valencia's

underhit backpass and beat David de Gea.

United's misery was compounded when Angel Di Maria was sent off for pulling referee Michael Oliver's shirt in frustration at being booked for diving. The Gunners will now meet either Bradford or Reading in the last four at Wembley. United, meanwhile, look almost certain to finish without a trophy for the second season in a row.

The hosts were forced into one change from their win over Newcastle as the suspended Jonny Evans was replaced by Luke Shaw.
