The complex is particularly suited for families, with the two and three bedroom lodges benefitting from two separate bathrooms and all units are equipped with microwave, fridge, private terrace and air conditioning.

There is also a free hourly shuttle bus that takes you into Benidorm – either to the beach or to one of the other hotels within the Magic Costa Blanca group, which you can take advantage of. The resort is on Whatsapp and you can message the reception instead of using a telephone – golf style buggies transport you back and forth and to the entrance of the Wildlife Park if requested.

By Spencer Williams

The strength of Britain's extraordinary creativity was last night (18 June) highlighted at the Queen's Birthday Party in Madrid, the national day celebration for the United Kingdom in Spain.

More than 600 leaders from the Spanish worlds of politics, business and industry attended one of the most popular diplomatic national day events, where they discov-

ered the best of British food, drink, arts and design, and celebrated the Official Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Speaking at his Official Residence, the British Ambassador Mr. Simon Manley, CBE, said: "We are celebrating both the birthday of HM The Queen and British creativity: our fashion, food and drink, our industrial design; and our cultural industries, be it dance, theatre, music or film.

Simon Manley, British Ambassador

"The simple fact is, Creativity is GREAT Britain. That creativity is forged out of our open society, a society that cherishes and defends freedom of speech, and in which ideas can blossom. A society that is open to foreign talent and foreign investment, and in which diversity enriches our country." Mr. Manley added: "Creativity is vital for the future of both our countries. In this globalised century, success will come to those who are flexible and embrace change. That's the challenge for our two great nations and also for our European Union".

The Ambassador unveiled a new portrait of HM The Queen by renowned British photographer David Bailey, whilst actors representing famous British literary and film characters, such as Sherlock Holmes, Mary Poppins and Mr Bean, mingled among the guests.

Top British brands in Spain Britain's global drinks industry was represented by names including Cardhu Gold, Johnnie Walker, Pimm's and Tanqueray No. Ten. British-Indian fusion food was served by Michelin-starred Benares restaurant, which opens in Madrid in September.

More examples of British creativity included a birthday cake in the shape of the Crown Jewels, and displays by top British fashion, fragrance and motoring brands including Barbour-Triumph, Ben Sherman, Jo Malone and Mini.

Retired President of British Paraglider dies Samaritans Awarded B.E.M after chute collapses By Spencer Williams

reflects Chris’s ongoing help and support to people in need, not just her work with the Samaritans. For example she helped and supported survivors of the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004 while living and working in Thailand.

Chris Sumter - Retired President of the Samaritans

After nearly twenty years living overseas Chris Sumter has just returned to the UK to live in Clevedon having just retired as President of Samaritans in Spain. She had been president for the last four years but has been with the Samaritans 7 years as a Trustee. It came as a huge surprise to Chris to learn she had been nominated for the award of British Empire Medal in this year’s Queens Birthday Honours List. The citation is “For services to the British Community in Spain. This

Chris took over as president of Samaritans in Spain from Stephen Ashley four years ago. He had inaugurated what was then called Costa Blanca Samaritans and built a very strong foundation, including all the legal requirements for setting up the organisation. However, the service needed expanding.

When Chris took over from Stephen it was still only operating four hours a day, seven days a week, with just the call centre. One other major obstacle was that it was virtually unknown of outside the Costa Blanca Region. With the help of a dedicated group of volunteers Chris began the process of expanding the organisation, getting its name and service out to the whole of Spain and the Islands. Together they introduced a 24 hour service and

opened what is probably the only Samaritans combined call centre, drop-in centre and charity shop. With a massive campaign the Samaritans became a national, not just a local, service and a force to be reckoned with.

Visiting English speaking prisoners in Spanish jails and supporting their families became a very important element of their work. Just before Chris retired and returned to the UK a second drop-in centre was established in Madrid.

Chris sees this award not just as recognition for all the work she has done over the years, but also a recognition of the hard work of all those involved in the Samaritans, both in Spain, the UK and around the world. She took the very sound foundations laid by Stephen and the original founders and built a solid framework upon that. Upon retiring she passed on this sound framework to the next generation who will Chris finally retired when she moved to Clevedon, but as all those who know her will attest, we probably haven’t seen the last of her helping others.

Dolphins Not So Rare We Are Just 'SMARTER' By Spencer Williams

It may be a distant memory, life before the smart phone, can you remember?

It has only been around 15 years since the mass adaption of the smart phone, where the very first models boasted computing features as well as a camera but did not necessarily have a touch screen display, what made it smart is what it could achieve as a stand alone device such as surfing the web, taking pictures, downloading games and applications and generally having better functionality.

However it wasn't until the release of the Iphone in 2007 and Android devices in 2008 users could really share all the information they had captured easily.

This is what experts are stating with the increase of dolphin and whale sightings, they say the difference is, "that before only a privileged few people out at sea got to experience marine life close up". With the increase of water sports and the use of smart devices and social networks, these experiences can be shared with a wider audience, potentially most of the world. Despite these facts, the images and videos captured never cease to

MISSING TODDLER IN ALICANTE IS FOUND

June 24th – July 1st 2015

By Spencer Williams

Overview of Alicante

One of parents worse nightmares is losing your child, be it in a busy supermarket, airport or on the beach a situation that is commonly more than just a nightmare and one of reality.

Hearing stories of the disappearance of a child brings the attention to this common fact.

In Alicante on Sunday evening June 21 at around 7pm, the parents of a threeyear-old little boy went through their own worst nightmare when they discovered their son was missing from their home on Calle César Elguezábal in the heart of the city. The extensive search by the Guardia Civil and the Local Police was joined by

the child’s family, friends and neighbours in the immediate neighbourhood.

The child was picked up by police an hour later a full two kilometres away near the Cocó beach area, having wandered alone through the busy city centre unnoticed by hundreds of people milling around the giant wood and cardboard figures created to celebrate the San Juan festival, crossing dozens of roads full of traffic.

Nobody noticed him, nobody wondered why he was alone. Councillor for Security Fernando Marcos said: “It is shocking that a child of that age could travel right across the city centre without anyone realising he was lost but happily he is home safe and sound and we are all relieved that he came to no harm.”

Promoting Benidorm on the BBC By Irena Bodnarec

The BBC film crew were in Benidorm recording for ´The Travel Show´ at the beginning of the week and on Monday morning they interviewed the new Mayor Toni Pérez. Presenting the program was Ade Adepitan MBE - the Paralympic medalist who won gold in 2005.

He is an accomplished wheelchair basketball player but has branched out into television presenting over the last few years. The Mayor was asked about the towns endeavour to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He stated that the town is not looking to achieve the status as a historic site like

many other cities but from a social perspective. The resort is set in an area of outstanding beauty, with beaches, natural parks, a microclimate and become a holiday destination for people of all socio-economic backgrounds and class.

The cameras captured the true spirit of Benidorm, filming at iconic landmarks such as the Mirador in the Old Town, along the Levante promenade, Elche – or Dove Park as it is better known and down the famous Tapas Alley. The program should be aired in around 2 weeks time on BBC1 and also on BBC World.

SHAMROCK ANNIVERSARY

The Shamrock Irish Pub in Benidorm celebrated their 20th anniversary over the weekend – a 3 day event which resulted in the biggest ever party taking place to mark the occasion… and the Irish certainly know how to celebrate!

for the special event and the terrace was packed to the rafters, with an outdoor stage erected for the bands and entertainers. Lisa was delighted with the turnout and support shown, but emphasized that “it is all about the staff and great team that makes it the place that it is” – and obviously loyal customers that keep coming back.

Owner Lisa is originally from Liverpool but an honorary Irishwoman on account of being married to Brian from County Donegal and organized the event.

The Shamrock was the very first Irish pub here – opening in 1993 but had a major refurb in 1995 to become what it is now. Numerous artistes flew over from across Ireland

The next big event will be the British Fancy Dress Day, which is on Thursday 12th November but the crown in the jewel is obviously St Patrick’s Day on 17th March. Staff at ‘The Shamrock’

Research located a suspicious building in which they believed the cultivation was taking place, so last Friday, while surveillance was carried around, the officers noticed a man coming out of the building suspiciously. He was identified and was attempting to hide a sealed bag with 100 grams of marijuana inside. With the new evidence a team was dispatched on Saturday, and proceeded to the home where in the raid they found a room equipped for indoor growing with the indoor light-

U3A OUT AND ABOUT MASEROF VISIT

The hills were alive with the sound of music for members of Javea U3A!

Around 40 members of the association’s Spanish Culture and Cuisine Group were visiting the unique Maserof wine museum and restaurant set high up in the Sierra Bernia mountains.

During dinner they were entertained by a group of Spanish “wandering minstrels” before being joined by owner Carolina in a rousing sing-song. Such is the popularity of the venue, it was the second time group leaders Angela Chantry and Tony Dearie had arranged a visit there and, as before, everyone

had a wonderful time.

The museum and restaurant is housed in a 17th century farmhouse built on the site of Roman ruins and restored by the late Peter Pateman, who ran an antiques shop in Denia. He crammed the place with antiques and relics from a bygone age, a real eye-opener for the many visitors it attracts every year. Now run by Peter’s daughter Carolina, there is no electricity and all the home-produced food is cooked in the original wood-burning oven and is

accompanied at the table by endless supplies of the famous Maserof red wine! In September, visitors can even arrange to tread the grapes and have their very own bottles of the tasty tinto.

Spanish Culture and Cuisine group members are in for further treats as Angela and Tony are busy planning their next special outings. For details of the group’s events and other Javea U3A activities, go to the websit at www.u3ajavea.org

WINE TASTING When it comes to hunting

out the best wines, members of Javea U3A’s wine appreciation group know where to go – straight to the winery! Consequently 46 members and guests, led by group leader Geoff Woodward, went on a day trip to Fontanars dels Alforins to find out first-hand from winery owner Daniel Belda how his grapes are harvested and his wines produced. After a tour around the new winery, situated about 8km from Fontanars, and an interesting talk by the owner on his philosophy of wine making, the visitors enjoyed a tasting of quality wines before lunch at the restaurant Caudalia opposite the bodega. For details of the wine tasting group and other Javea U3A activities, visit the website at www.u3ajavea.org.

NO ROOM AT THEJavea BARBIE The Players

Summer Show Spectacular is now sold out. There has been a massive ‘buzz’ (pun intended) around town about Teddy Bulbin and his Barbecuing skills and the excitement of a BBQ on stage that tickets were swept up fast.

You are welcome to get in contact and put your name on the list for a return ticket, with the BBQ Show and alfresco dinner with wine in the picturesque Plaza Baix at 7pm, all for 15 euros, its a great deal and worth a shot at a lucky return ticket.

The number to try on is 96 647 2876 or email boxofficejp@gmail.com

CURRY CLUB

Members of Javea U3A’s Curry Club went Persian for their latest gettogether.

Fifteen members split into two groups to enjoy the taste of Iranian cuisine at the homes of group leaders Dodie and James Hodgkinson and fellow members Margaret and Malcolm March.

And it was genuine homemade food with all the dinner guests preparing and serving up their own creations with the only proviso being that every offering was a genuine Persian/Iranian dish. Although the dinner parties had similarities to the popular TV series of Come Dine With Me, there was no disharmony or back-

biting - with everybody’s dish proving a real winner! Dishes included spicy chicken kebabs, lamb byriani, Khoresht karafs (cerery and chickpea stew), Ghormeh Sabiz (meat and herb stew), Javaher polow (Persian jewelled rice), baklava and Persian fruit salad.

ALICANTE LEADS THE WAY

The holiday home market continues to show the way with the latest reports of significant increases of sales in the Costa Blanca.

However, according to the latest 2015 report prepared by Tinsa the increase is due to the fact of the demand in holiday home buyers from abroad and in particular the British.

The areas with the most significant signs of movement and higher prices than the same time last year are Javea (Alicante), Benidorm, Orihuela and Torrevieja, with annual increases of 11.2% and 9.8%, respectively. Alicante province on the Costa Blanca remains the favourite location for foreign

property hunters, accounting for nearly 35 per cent of international buyers.

The White Coast became very popular with Brits from the Seventies onwards, with expats flocking to Alicante and Benidorm for a sunshine lifestyle on a low cost of living. As such, it also became a popular place to retire and now with the best exchange rates seen for many years the trend has come back.

There is renewed interest in the region due to the very low prices and for modest properties there are bargains for as little as 60,000 euros.

47% of enquiries for properties in Spain sat within the ÂŁ50k (69,444 Euros) to ÂŁ150k (208,000 euros) price range with 39.8 per cent of enquiries looking for an apartment, while 33 per cent were looking for a three bedroom property.

The advice is to those wishing to take advantage of the recent benefits of the strong British pound exchange rates is to lock in the best possible exchange rate by placing orders with an independent specialist. HIFX the worlds third largest currency exchange specialist will for example, if 1.42 is reached they will transact automatically ensuring your desired rate is not missed.

Furthermore, the actual exchange rate delivered is likely to be closer to the real market rate than your bank would offer, this can deliver up to 5% more in some cases.

BUENA VISTA - A PERFECT VIEW

Our visit to Buena Vista in Altea was long overdue. The weekly menus printed each week on the Trip Advisor page have been the talk of my household for some time.

The marinated Tandoori Chicken had a spicy mellow flavour and was served sliced off the bone. The Hake fillet was

A weekly menu that has put a different meaning on the term "menu del dia" and this is because at this stunning new location on the Altea promenade, not only offer spectacular scenic views, but the breathtaking three course menu is available all day every day for only 11€.

A choice of starters that included Duck breast with baked mushrooms, Carpaccio of beef with tomato tapenade or Oriental codfish with soya sauce. For me the fish and our other choice was the beef.

Main course was either a Tandoori Chicken with fried rice, Sautéed Hake Fillet with salad and Beef Stroganoff with Baked Potatoes. The menu choices are exciting and offer a range of tastes to suit most people.

The cod fish was served on a long plate with two generous pieces of fish accompanied with a separate ramekin of soya sauce. The plate of Carpaccio had a display of red meat complemented with green rucola leaves and a tasty tomato sauce drizzle. A nice combination and an amazing portion size for a menu starter.

soft and juicy, served with salad and French fries. With a desert included the 11€ menu is unbeatable value and is perfect for any occasion.

The meal was not only immensely delicious, but also enjoyed in a splendid location, with the opportunity to sit under shade with very comfortable cushioned seats watching the world go by. An idealic location with views out onto the beach front with stunning scenes across to Calpe and the Rock of Ifach.

Buena Vista is an ideal place for the whole family and is very popular for tapas and cocktails. The food offering includes a range of Mediterranean cuisine of Fish and Meats also a range of fresh prepared burgers, salads and children's meals. The tapas menu includes a range of traditional Spanish plates ideal for sharing with drinks.

Buena Vista is located just next to the public parking area directly overlooking the sea front, Paseo Mediterraneo 23, Altea town centre. Call to make a reservation on 965 841 636

“Great Greek Restaurant! ”

Reviewed 17 June 2015 I can't remember this bar being here on our last visit but each time we drove past it looked busy. Had a Gin & Tonic and it was the best I'd ever tasted, berries included. My husband had a look inside and was made up with the array of whiskey's on offer. Our only downfall was a group of lads swearing on the next table which was a shame. We have been back a couple of times but tried not to when sport was on. I must add the owner is so friendly.

Reviewed 16 June 2015 We visited Sirtaki before the kitchen had opened properly for the evening (we were there at five and the kitchen opened at six). That meant that we could not order anything from the grill. We had two starters, meatballs and spinach with feta cheese in a filo pastry. Both were incredibly good! We had the moussaka for main course and we were very pleased with it. The service was friendly and hospitable. We will definitely come back and try the grill next time ! Nice atmosphere by the beach.

“Love this Place”

Reviewed 12 May 2015 The best start to any of our evenings in Moraira began here. A cool beer or tall drink served by the friendliest of staff. It has an ambience that allows for peaceful conversation for couples but caters for groups on a good night out. The addition of Premium Plus will serve them well - The Food and welcome is as good there.

“A Welcome Surprise”

Reviewed 25 March 2015 Recently opened and situated slightly apart from mainstream Moraira we were undecided as to whether try it or not. Very glad we did, tastefully appointed, excellent, caring staff with a very small but interesting menu - mainly based on a variety of steaks. There was a fish as well as a vegetarian option - the latter being disappointingly bland but that apart, the steaks were of good quality and certainly were not small. Do try the Chicken Livers starter - one of the best ever. House Wine very good, and very reasonably priced with the rest of the wine menu equally modestly priced. This is one to watch, it will end up as being very popular I am sure.

“We have visited there several times for lunch and dinner”

“Real Greek ”

Reviewed 13 June 2015 I realy enjoyed my dinner in this restaurant. The food was more than perfect, everything was fresh end delicious. The staff was friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I wish all the best to this restaurant!

“True Greek”

Reviewed 28 May 2015 Arrived by chance and what a wonderful surprise. Food excellent and the service was unobtrusive but attentive. The prices were good. We needed to be moved inside because other diners were smoking and this was no problem to the friendly waitress. Thouroughly recommend this restaurant and we will return before we leave altea.

“Great Greek in Altea”

Reviewed 18 May 2015 I was pleased to have a Greek restaurant in Altea, but even more pleased after eating there several times. The food is authentic with a perfect use of herbs and spices to give the food an authentic Greek taste, like the food I have had on my trips to Greece. The atmosphere is pleasant, with outdoor covered and uncovered patio area across the street from the Mediterranean. They are dog-friendly, bringing not only water, but during the last visit, the chef distributed small packets of leftover meat for the dogs--true "doggie bags." The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are friendly, professional, and attentive.

I want ma baby back baby back baby back RIBS!

Baby backs are closest to the backbone, nestled beneath the loin muscle. They are curved, round bones, close together, and most of the meat is on top of the bones, cut from the underside of loin muscle. If the butcher has not removed the membrane from the back side, do it yourself. It gets leathery and hard to chew, it keeps fat in and the sauce out.

Insert a butter knife under the membrane and then your fingers, work a section loose, grip it with a paper towel or dip your fingers in salt and peel it off.

Finally, trim the excess fat from both sides. If you can't get the skin off, with a sharp knife, cut slashes through it every inch so some of the fat will render out during the cooking. These ribs are amazing! Goes great with a jacket potato filled with a pineapple slaw and a crisp green side salad.

Ingredients

Number of servings: 4

For the Marinade • 120 ml red wine vinegar • 80 ml balsamic vinegar • 1 roasted head of garlic (peeled and pureed)

• • • • • • • • •

1 teaspoon of sugar 2 tablespoons of salt ½ teaspoon of sweet paprika ½ teaspoon of black pepper 1 tablespoon of honey 3 tablespoons of Dijon mustard 3 tablespoons of fresh chopped oregano 200 ml olive oil 2 full slabs of baby back ribs

Method

• Pour all ingredients in a bottle or jar and shake well.

• Pour the marinade into a large zip bag, zip and shake.

• Cut the slabs in half and add the halves to the bag, coat all sides, and toss them in the fridge for at least 1 hour, 6 is better. Every 30 minutes shake up the bag.

• Roast the ribs low and slow with indirect heat at about 120°C. No smoke, want the pork and herb flavours to dominate.

• Every 30 minutes or so mop the meaty side of ribs with the marinade until it runs out. Do not mop during the last 30 minutes to prevent contamination with microbes transferred from the meat to the marinade. Use these useful tips to learn how to tell when the ribs are ready.

The bend test, this is the method I like best. I pick up

the slab with a pair of tongs and bounce them slightly. If they are ready, the slab will bow until the meat starts to crack on the surface, a small crack means you need a little more time. It should be close to breaking when you lift the slab. You’ll get the feel for this with practice.

The toothpick test. You poke a toothpick into the meat between the bones.

When it slides in with little or no resistance you have a done rack of ribs. It's best to test various parts of the rack to be sure you have them done to your liking.

With a little practice you can judge the doneness of your ribs better than the bend test.

Enjoy!

Your mind is focused and your thinking innovative, so you may find others will be more drawn to you than ever today. They see you as a leader in you field and would no whatever it takes to be allowed on your journey. If only it were this easy when it comes to love and passion.

TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)

Now that you’ve got all aspects of your life on a structured positive journey, you’ll do everything in your power to ensure it stays like that. Maybe it’s best to let you high standards slip a tiny bit when it comes to love and passion though. It should be more spontaneous don’t you think?

GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)

Now that your life is less held back and restricted, you’ll manage to move ahead at a much more productive pace, and you’ll start today the way you mean to go on. Your confidence is building up again and you know you’re the best in your field so make sure your salary reflect this.

Not everyone will come up with the goods when you want them, but do you see that as them being difficult on purpose, or do you see it as them not being able to cope with the tasks they’ve been given? It’s time to ask if they’re up for the task at hand. If not, get someone else. AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)

Land Cruiser Gets New Special Edition Marks 2,000,000th Land Rover 2.8 D-4D Engine T h e L a t e s t B U Z Z f r o m t h e M o t o r i n g Wo r l d

Toyota has updated the big Land Cruiser with a new 2.8 D-4D diesel engine replacing the 3.0 D-4D. At the same time, the big 4x4 gets new standard equipment including DAB radio. Prices start at £35,895 for the three door while the fivedoor is an extra £1800.

Despite being smaller in size, the 2.8 D-4D engine is actually more powerful with 174PS and 420Nm of torque when combined with the standard six-speed manual gearbox. Opt for the new six-speed automatic and you get an extra 30Nm of torque available from low down the rev range.

The new automatic means better economy with a claimed average of 39.2mpg and 194g/km of CO2 for the five-door model.

Toyota has also re-introduced the entrylevel Active trim, which now gets DAB radio. The options list includes Toyota Touch 2 with Go - the useful navigation and toushscreen system.

Leather seats are also available as an option. On three-door models this includes heated front seats and leather door trims while on the five-door Active it comes with power adjustment for the front seats and triple-zone automatic air conditioning, although it will set you back £2795.

The 2,000,000th Defender has rolled off the production line in Solihull, and so to mark the momentous occasion Land Rover has made it a very special one. The one-off ‘Defender 2,000,000’ will be auctioned off for charity at Bonhams in December.

The car’s wing features a map of Red Wharf Bay carved in aluminium, to evoke the place where the original Land Rover concept was drawn in the sand, while at the rear there’s a unique numbered badge, which also appears on the centre console.

The seats are leather and feature a Red Wharf Bay image, while in true Land Rover style, the company has trotted out a number of celebrities to help publicise the car – or in this case, join the production line. The result is that an aluminium plaque on the driver’s seat plinth that dis-

plays the engraved signatures of everyone involved in the build of the car includes such names as ‘Bear’ and ‘Theo’. The registration plate is S90 HUE, you may have noticed, which will be sold with the car at the December 16th auction, and is in homage to the original Land Rover registration, HUE 166.

The first Land Rover, the Series 1, was produced at the Lode Lane factory in 1947, before being launched in April 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show. This special edition is based on the current, Series 3 Defender.

The money raised by the 2,000,000 edition will go to the Red Cross, Red Crescent Society and Born Free Foundation. Shortly thereafter, production of the Series 3 Defender will end, prior to the launch of the brand new Defender.

Should my female dog go into heat before she’s spayed? No, by doing so before her first heat, you can greatly reduce her risk of mammary tumors.

How long after giving birth can my dog be spayed? The procedure can be done as soon as the pups are weaned, usually four to five weeks.

What are some of the health benefits of spay/neuter? Female dogs have no risk of infections, cancers, or diseases of the uterus (which is removed), and also a reduced risk of breast cancer. Male dogs have no risk of testicular cancer and a reduced risk of prostate cancer. The surgery also reduces some problem behaviors related to mating, such as roaming, marking, and aggression.

Will my dog be given pain relief? Yes. Your dog won’t feel any pain during the surgery. Typically, dogs are given an injection which will provide pain management for eight to twelve hours after the surgery. And you may also be given medication that you can give at home. Never administer human pain medications, because many of them can be poisonous to your dog.

Will my dog get fat after the surgery? No, this is a myth. Just like humans, dogs gain weight if they’re eating too much or not getting enough exercise. Provide your dogs with regular walks and healthy meals, and they’ll stay fit!

Should I wait until my female dog has had one litter before spaying? No, it’s actually easier on your dog to have the surgery before her first heat. Plus, by allowing your dog to have some puppies, you’re contributing to the pet overpopulation problem. If you’d like to allow your children the experience of seeing a birth, consider fostering a dog that’s already pregnant at a local rescue or shelter.

Will my guard dog stop protecting Me? No. In fact, most police canine units spay or neuter their dogs. If your dog has been trained to be a guard dog, he will still be able to protect you after the procedure.

The best source of information for your spay/neuter questions is your veterinarian. He or she can help inform you about your dog’s specific needs regarding the surgery.

ROSBERG CLOSES GAP

ving beaten his Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton in three of the past four races, Nico Rosberg is confident he has found the missing ingredient required to win the Formula One title this year: More aggression.

Rosberg, last year's F1 runner-up to Hamilton in a close title race, now sits just 10 points behind his Mercedes rival after a convincing win at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, where he made the winning pass on Hamilton at the first corner.

''I think I have found what I needed to find last year in terms of in the races,'' Rosberg said after his 11th

career win. ''That's what is really working out for me this year.'' Hamilton has won five races to Rosberg's three so far. But Rosberg will have gained huge confidence from wins in Spain, Monaco - where he was helped by surprising team orders to call Hamilton in for a pit stop - and his latest success at the Red Bull Ring. Rosberg heads to the British GP in two weeks' time in buoyant mood with the momentum seemingly swinging back his way.

''Now I'm really looking forward to Silverstone, where I have good memories with the pole last year and

the win in 2013,'' the 29-year-old German said.

Hamilton has concerns after being well beaten, especially seeing as he started from pole for the seventh time in eight races. Furthermore, he also carelessly picked up a five-second penalty after crossing the white

Formula-E Closes In London

The London ePrix will encompass two races – Rounds 10 and 11 – taking place at Battersea Park on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June. The 2.922km anti-clockwise circuit has been designed using the existing perimeter roads of the park and will see the 20 Formula E drivers tackle a mixture of fast straights, high-speed bends, challenging chicanes and braking zones.

British Driver, Sam Bird commented on the upcoming weekend. "I’m impressed with what I have seen so far. The track is in the beautiful Battersea Park, right next to the river Thames, just across from Chelsea and with some of the most

famous features of London’s skyline in the background. The layout itself seems to combine fast straights, a couple of high-speed bends as well as some challenging chicanes and braking zones

The Formula.E season has seen famous racing names meet again in the lieks of Senna (Bruno) and Prost (Nicolas) as well as past F1 drivers such as Sebastian Buemi, Jerome D'Ambrosio and Nick Heidfeld, as the season comes to an end it will all be decided in London with two Brazillians leading the pack followed by Swiss driver Buemi.

As part of the action, Boris Johnson,

who has been Mayor of London since 2008 and was recently elected to UK parliament, will get behind the wheel of the Formula.E show car. “Keen cyclist Johnson will drive the 270bhp Spark-Renault SRT_01E around the purpose-built Battersea Park track ahead of the doubleheader season finale,” a statement from Formula.E read.

Speith Snatches U.S Open Crown

Jordan Spieth is halfway home to the Grand Slam, a prize only three of the biggest names in modern golf have ever chased.

Spieth won the U.S. Open in a heart-stopper Sunday with a turn of events even more wild than the terrain at Chambers Bay. He thought he had it won with a 25-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole. He threw away a three-shot lead one hole later. He made birdie on the final hole. And then he thought it was over as Dustin Johnson settled in over a 12-foot eagle putt

for the victory. Three putts later, Spieth was the U.S. Open champion. "I'm still in shock," he said with the gleaming U.S. Open trophy at his side. "I've never experienced a feeling like this. It was a very intense back nine." Spieth became only the sixth player to win the Masters and U.S. Open in the same year, and he joined Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in getting the first two legs of the modern slam that Palmer created on his way to St. Andrews in 1960.
