NYC High Line Analysis Analysing the High Line located in the New York City meat packing district between 19th and 21st street. Project produced by Bowen Victor ZHANG in partnership with Patricia OLIVERA and Ayim
ZHUMASHEVA.
After visiting the High Line, our team decided to analyze the urban element via the density of human movement. The concentration of groups were determined by objects located on the highline, such as benches and stairs, or adjacent conditions that drew people’s attention The posterboard aims to represent the densities populating the highline in collage, plan, and section.
Conceptual Model Extracting the essential elements of the precedent building in order to build a conceptual model. Project produced by Bowen Victor ZHANG in partnership with Jonathan RIESMAN Materials: Wood, Wire, Metal Rods, Plexi Glass
Carpenter Visual Arts Center Designed by Le Corbusier
Without the use of glue or adhessives, the project was achieved using the inherent qualities of the materials in order to connect the entire structure. In this way, the project is dependent on all the seperate pieces.
Conceptual Model Building a conceptual model to begin to define an organizing strategy for the final project of the semester. Project produced by Bowen Victor ZHANG Materials: Wood, String

Micro-urbanism on the High Line The 19th and 1/2 street building acts as a connective seam between the NYC High Line and the Avenue to create a node of denisity. The building comissioned by Syracuse University serves as a ballet school fitted with classrooms, a large practice space facing the avenue, and a smaller performance space facing the High Line. Ultimately, the project should create moments of interaction between the students inhabiting the building and the pedestrians from the public.
