My good friend Kip Bonnell called me this summer and said I needed to come over because there was some “good stuff” I just had to see. Well if any of you know Kip or his program very well, that statement would be a pretty safe bet. The cow power at Kip’s plays 2nd to no one nowhere, and we have been lucky enough to sell some great cattle from him. His Drama Queen donor is one of the most consistent in the lineup. I have been accused of being too picky and critical when it comes to what I like in my Simmy cattle. When we only strive to be good in our breed and don’t try to raise fundamentally good, fault free cattle, that excel in the show ring and pasture regardless of breed, we aren’t getting the most out of our cattle. I sold Diamond to Randy and Troy a few years ago, where she went on to be one of (if not) the winningest show heifers in Simmental history!
